Coffee
Tom G.

Came here for a afternoon caffeine pick-me-up, and was very glad I did! The place is very cute on the side inside, with a little bit of seating in the loft area. As the name might imply, the place is also dog friendly. They have a ton of flavored syrups to choose from (both sugar free and regular!) and I decided to go with the sugar free peanut butter syrup in just their regular roast and was glad I did. Their coffee is bold, hot and flavorful and honestly didn't even need an extra flavoring. On top of good quality coffee, the baristas were very sweet and helpful and just another reason to want to keep coming back.

**Happy Friday from Java Dog Coffee House! ** While wandering down Front Street in Wilmington, I popped into Java Dog Coffee House for a quick afternoon pick-me-up. I chose an iced mocha, and it was absolutely perfect! The espresso was wonderfully nutty, lingering on the tongue exactly as it should, and the cocoa was measured just right, providing a perfectly balanced delight. The bakery case was filled with an enticing array of pastries and sundries. With so many other tempting offerings on the menu, I'm already looking forward to my next visit. If you're ever near Front Street in Wilmington, don't miss out on stopping by Java Dog Coffee House. You're in for a treat!

Just left there with a friend of mine and the Decaf Peppermint Mocha with oat milk and whip cream is banging!

This is a nice little café on Front St in downtown Wilmington, close to some hotels. Nice place to grab a cup of coffee, a latte, an Americano, etc. They also have fresh baked goods brought in daily... they have really tasty bagels! The staff was friendly and very helpful. Prices are very fair. I'd definitely return!

Loved everything about this little place! It's giving theatre kid vibes! I loved it (as a theatre kid and all the weird things on the wall)! Coffee was good. Service was okay. Staff could have been friendlier.

Typical local coffee shop. Full coffee menu like anywhere. I found the cappuccino to be really good. Highlights - Nice locally owned business - Downtown Wilmington right off Front Street - Dog friendly - Cash and plastic accepted. It didn't look like they took Apple Pay but I also didn't ask. - Small seating area on the main level but more seating upstairs

Nah. Not the best customer service let's just say. Showed up before they closed and was quickly shooed out rudely.

Sometimes all you need is a sunny day in a coastal town with your favorite coffee in hand. Hidden…read moreGrounds is one of those places that feels like a little Wilmington treasure. Don't let the line fool you--they move quickly, and while you wait, you can soak in the charm of their beautiful backyard oasis. My go-to order is the Salty Dino, a perfect blend of salted caramel and vanilla that never disappoints. If you're looking for something a little more fun, the Dino Campfire comes topped with a toasted marshmallow and feels like a cozy treat in a cup. And whatever you do, don't leave without a pastry. Their homemade Pop-Tarts are absolutely elite and worth every bite. Between the incredible coffee, delicious baked goods, and fun merchandise to take home, Hidden Grounds is the kind of spot that keeps you coming back every time you're in Wilmington.

Order, go out back, and wait for your name to be called. Lots of Dino's and seats available, including swinging chairs. Lots of fun merch options from tees to hats and stickers. Marlboro man- half sweet and iced- very good. Brown Sugar- Shaken espressso with brown sugar and cinnamon- made mine with oatmilk. It overly sweet and can still taste the coffee. 2 Minty Matchas (mint chocolate chip ice cream taste) 1 strawberry- strawberry shortcake taste They offered some food options- mostly pastries and a few cookies. No down size, wish there were other options for eating, but main focus here is the coffee and they do it well.

The Parking/Greeting: The outside hostess had zero flexibility or empathy when we asked about handicap parking. She flatly told us no, and said the closer spaces were for overnight guests only. We had to drop our guest off and find parking a block away. The Food/Drinks: The espresso martinis were very good. However, do not order the "s'mores for four." The portion is not enough for four people, the marshmallows are too large to heat efficiently, and the ratios are completely off. Plus, the kit only included 3 sticks and 2 hand wipes for a party of 4. The Service: Our server, vanished after our initial order went through the app. He never returned to check on us, and we had to ask other servers for basic assistance. Between the lack of accessibility accommodation and the ghost town service, it was not a pleasant evening.
