There's no shortage of coffee places in downtown Wilmington, but 24 South Coffee House is a great option in the historic district just a short walk from the riverfront. While the interior isn't overly spacious, it's cozy and there's enough seating for about 15-20 people. We went with a white mocha latte and a medium dark brew (Honduran) coffee. Prices were reasonable and both drinks were well prepared. Overall, I'd give them a 4.5/5, but since Yelp doesn't allow half stars, happy to round up since the service was friendly and am happy to support local coffee shops that provide decent drinks. read more

I have gone in here a couple of times, the customer service is always great im not rushed, and they are so kind. Coffee is so good! The coffee does not taste burnt AT ALL and its always perfectly sweetened. They also have the best SF vanilla latte. read more

It was not fantastic. It was ok. A good coo of coffee but took FOREVER to get served and it was not due to the staff. The one person on staff was actually all alone and frankly FANTASTIC with how she was making everyone's drinks simultaneously. The only issue with that was there was no sense of order so people that came in well after me had their drinks first and my drink eventually came to me 15 min later but my sons another 15 later so we ended up drinking our drinks separately lol. The food was bleh. I had the lemon cream muffin and it had no taste. Very bland. It's a small shop- popular and in a great location but nothing I'd go out of my way to go to unless I had to meet someone. Art pieces hanging around for sale and other odds and ends for sale like homemade or organic cleaners? I was not 100% sure if that was what I was seeing but okay I'll give it B- for uniqueness factor! Coffee tasted good- I had one of the iced coffee drinks but I'd be lying if I remember which it were! The blueberry lemon scone is on the bigger side of sweet and has a nice texture. The almond milk latte is smooth. I ordered an iced almond latte with oat milk, and while the bubbles on top threw me off at first, I'm assuming it's just from the milk. I knew I would love this place when I saw an Italian flag flying in front of it. I don't usually order cappuccinos because I'm very particular and want them to be done right. I figured that if this place was advertising itself as an Italian café, they ought to know how to make a good cappuccino. Boy, I was right! It tasted perfect and I was impressed by the amount of froth they managed to get into my to-go cup. One of the first things I noticed was that they have framed pictures of their employees on the wall. The vibe was intimate and metropolitan. Though I was only popping in for a quick coffee, I could easily see myself linger here for hours on my computer. I went to another place up the street called Java something and they did not know what a cortado was-I turned and left and came to this magnificent place. Very cool funky vibe in downtown Front St area of Wilmington. Several flavored options of ice coffee to help twitch the summer heat. We had brown sugar cinnamon, and a lavender latte. Great flavors and creaminess to the mouthfeel. They had several baked goods available, we had some banana bread which was nice but nothing out of this world. Had several vegan options for anyone interested in those. There was a strawberry crème cake that looked really good but slice was too big for us to make the jump. Will be back for sure read more

We love to go downtown and try out new spots and being that we have a toddler, coffee is always a must. This was our first time to 24 South and it was great. It was not too busy and we were served very quickly and our iced latte and cappuccino was really good. The place was a little empty though (if you can see in the images). I was a little cluttered and unorganized which is why I gave it 4 stars. Not as ascetically pleasing as some of the other coffee shops downtown but if you just need a good quality drink, that really does not matter all that much! read more

We love this little coffee shop and used to be very frequent customers before the pandemic and have been venturing back this past year. However, instead of making fresh coffee they make it ahead and put it in thermos containers. Everyone knows coffee tastes horrible after sitting in those for a few hours. I suspect they would have more customers if they made fresh coffee. We will still visit, but not as often. read more
