As a first course, I ordered the Mediterranean seared ahi tuna on a grilled crostini. For the second course, I went for the white wine steamed mussels; that sauce was to die for. My third course was the grilled lamb chops, with potatoes, carrots, and mint sauce, also delicious. And finally, I had the chocolate pot de crème, a chocolate mousse to finish off a perfect lunch. Pretty surprised how good this restaurant was for a hotel restaurant. We decided to get dinner here as it was convenient and it looked promising. For drinks, I ordered a Campfire Mule ($15). I guess it's like a Moscow Mule, but with a campfire theme twist as they put a fat marshmallow that's been roasted under a fire. Was told to take a bite of the marshmallow and then take a sip of the drink. Sounds like a lot of work to enjoy a drink, but it tasted great as you get the sweetness from the marshmallow and then the counteracting acidity from the cocktail. For appetizers, we ordered the Turkish Seared Scallops ($19). These scallops were tender and tasted great. We also ordered Charred Brussel Sprouts ($11), which is pretty much the only way I'll eat Brussel Sprouts. For entrees we got the Chicken Pesto Flatbread ($16) and the Greek Swordfish ($32). The flatbread met expectations while the swordfish was fantastic. Service was overall pretty decent. They're understaffed so they're a bit slow on service, but are super friendly and make good recommendations. Our waitress specifically paid close attention to details, making sure our order was correct by repeating the order back, and kept track of which dishes to service first, which was our appetizers, before our entree arrived, which was a few minutes after we finished our appetizers. We left satisfied and pretty content with our experience here. Would recommend this spot. read more

Had a lovely early brunch experience on a Sunday morning around 8 am. We were greeted and promptly sat outside and had the pleasure of being helped by Ellen. Service was excellent. I enjoyed the bagel with cream cheese and my husband enjoyed his meal too. We got the mimosa flight (bottle of champagne with a selection of juices). We did get torn up by mosquitoes, but that's a risk you take sitting outside. All in all a wonderful experience. read more

I had both lunch and dinner here in n 2 separate occasions as I was staying at the hotel. For lunch the Flat head is awesome. Had the prosciutto and added ricotta cheese. We visited the Hilton Carillon park restaurant and lounge for restaurant week and what a deal. The food offered was fine dining at its best, snapper, lamb, porterhouse pork-chop and scallops for a prefix price is almost never heard of and the portions were plentiful. Tried three appetizers and they were not good; the fresh, simple and elegant taste of the previous year is gone. I highly recommend the Blueberry Thyme Margarita. The food on our second visit was not quite as good as the first time. Dining partner was very pleased with the pork chop with bacon jam. The potatoes were sent back, they tasted as if they hadn't even been prepared. I had shrimp wrapped in bacon which was good. So for a party of 4, some things were very good, others not. The avo toast alone was $18 and $5 extra for ONE egg. Additionally 3 of the olives on top still had the pit so that hurt my teeth biting down on that. It was okay tasting but definitely not a $23 breakfast then coffee on top of it. So $29 total. Glad I have strong teeth. Surprisingly fantastic place for lunch. I've tried the lunch buffet here a long time ago, but this time my Zumba friends wanted to come after class on the weekend. First, nobody eats here on a Sunday at 11 a.m. We literally had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Mad love to the bartender who knew to pour mimosas all champagne with a splash of OJ. Some of my friends were feeling mighty fine by the time brunch was over. The chef had a special of a Shrimp and Stone Crab stuffed avocado salad with soup. I absolutely adored it. I got the Blue Crab Bisque that was heavy with cream - delicious. A bowl would have been way too much, but the cup was perfect. Then the actual salad was amazing. It had a good amount of shrimp and stone crab. This was a substantial salad that didn't have me wanting a burger afterwards. I thought it was going to be pretty expensive, since it was a special it wasn't on the menu, but it was only $16. I felt like I got a great deal. A friend got the Korean style bbq wing appetizer and holy moly is that a huge portion. That's a whole meal, not an appetizer! He was trying to force it on the whole table because he couldn't eat it all. I had one and thought it had a good taste. I'm usually not a huge fan of restaurants in hotels, but this one is worth going to. I would happily continue to come here after Zumba on Sundays! read more

I visited this restaurant for their special 5-course Thanksgiving tasting menu, and was overall quite pleased. The main course, a turkey roulade, was surprisingly good; I don't typically like turkey much, but this was juicy and tender, with a falafel stuffing, fluffy duchess potatoes, and a flavorful brussel sprout/bacon mix. The sweet and savory salad with whipped feta and apple baklava was unique and delicious. The first course had delicious gnocchi, but I was not a fan of the lamb sausage, which was tough and visually unappealing. The lemon soup with octopus was also a disappointment; I couldn't tell if the soup was supposed to be a cold soup that had gone tepid, or a hot soup that had gone cold, and the octopus was overcooked and cold. The dessert was good, an upgrade on pumpkin pie with creamy pumpkin custard, decadent cream cheese gelato, and cranberry cookies. The starring dish of the night though, which was actually an extra I ordered off of their regular menu, was the pull-apart bread, cheesy and fluffy and flavorful with sundried tomatoes and a variety of fillings! This was smoking hot and served in a cast-iron skillet, absolutely wonderful! I'm glad it was on their regular menu because I'll definitely order it if I return in the future. read more

This review is for take-out for their kids meals. Our family stayed at this hotel for a couple nights. We ate an early dinner and just wanted something small at 9pm. The server told us we could order from the kids menu. We ordered chicken tenders and sliders with a side of broccoli. I love the chicken tenders and the broccoli. I mean, I LOVE them, so much so that I went back there the next day to order two more (plus two other items on the kids menu). The sliders and chicken pasta are very good too. We are on the fifth day of our trip, the kid meals at this hotel has been the best so far. We ate at a seafood restaurant tonight, but all I could think about was the chicken tenders with broccoli. I won't stop by just to eat there. But if you stay at the hotel, go for it! It's good. read more

I went here for breakfast after staying at the Hilton. I ordered the Mediterranean breakfast. Let me tell you, I had no idea! If you want to feed 10 people with grocery store salami, bologna, slices of Publix cheddar and provolone, with stale pita and canned olives ( you have to remind them that olives were on the menu because even though they are, they don't bother to bring them out unless you beg... When they do, they bring you the whole can lol). And an entire block of blue cheese.. you will have enough dumpster meat to feed an army, vegetables and olive oil are apparently not part of the vocabulary here. Shame on me for thinking otherwise considering this is tapas place. Advice for the management, buy better meets and cheeses and remember most Mediterranean food is veg, olive oil and fish, not dumpster salami, and serve less and do better. Sad... read more

They are back open. They are located in the lobby level of the Hilton Hotel. The hotel uses them for breakfast for Diamond and Gold member complimentary breakfast. It is not a buffet but more like 1 cold option of Greek yogurt with berries and granola which is fresh and healthy or 1 hot option of Steelcut Oatmeal or a $7 credit towards any other entrée on the menu. The prices were resort high for most items. A single scrambled egg was $4 but when served, the portion looked more like 2 1/2 eggs. It was not crowded for breakfast but we were there early. The service was good and friendly. They were closed for a while, while the hotel was closed but now back open, things should get back to normal. read more

Came on what seemed a slow Thursday after a day of corporate hell meetings to treat myself to a nice dinner. Was seated at a nice booth and greeted by my friendly (albeit a little naive) waitress. Ordered a glass of the house can and I quoted what was better? The tomato bisque or the French onion soup. She advise the French onion soup as it's "very cheesy and stuff" lol. Ok I'm in. And it was really good. Exceptionally good. For dinner I ordered the steak medallions..med rare. .with the steamed vegis and potato casserole. I asked if the casserole was creamy as im not a milk fan. She said no..it's really dry actually. Hmm. What vegis are there? Squash onion. Lol..not squash and onion .u see where this is going. Anyway..she was cute in her naivety. So steak comes. .3 medallions..perfectly cooked and fork tender with a delicious gravy. The potato casserole.is.not dry..but not creamy and matches with the gravy..and no the vegis (squash..onion..pepper and zucchini) is perfectly done. Another glass.of wine and opted on the chocolate mini cake dessert with vanilla bean ice cream and a raspberry glaze.(although I barely sampled the ice cream) All in all a really good meal. 3 glasses of wine and dinner was around $70 before tip. Service did stall here and there and she was a little clueless but I'm never in a hurry for good food that's worth the price range. Nice atmosphere too. I'd recommend it. They also have cute private booths for more quiet dinners and chihully sculptures in the entrance way. read more

The fish was extremely unflavourful. The bread has been changed to stale breadsticks , it use to be good actual normal bread. Thirdly the rice with my fish was not cooked. It was stale and hard , awful. Come here often and usually get the steak and usually happy - this time since the overhaul was disappointing terribly. My family and I were staying at the hotel and it was our last night so we decided to give this place a try. We ordered quite a lot of food and everything came out delicious!! The restaurant didn't seem busy but the service was pretty dang slow (which I guess is why this place has mixed reviews). There were plenty of longer than 10 minute delays between our dishes. However, our server was nice and since it was our last night in Florida, we didn't mind it too much. For appetizers we ordered the chipotle shrimp, pot stickers, and korean style BBQ wings. The chipotle shrimp was delicious! The pot stickers weren't anything fancy. We're from Hawaii so I've personally tasted better. The Korean style BBQ wings were suuuper good and there was a good amount for the price as well. For our entrees we ordered the lobster and crab linguine, new york streak and added a 5oz lobster tail, baby back ribs, chicken scallopini and the special of the day (which I honestly only remember that it was some type of fish but it was really good). All the entrees were delicious except for the baby back ribs. They weren't fall off the bone good so I was a little disappointed about that. Everything else was good though! I'm giving them 4 stars mainly because the food was good and although the service was pretty slow, our server was nice. read more

This place is one of my new favorite places to change out while I'm out of town. I frequent St Pete for business but until recently stayed primarily elsewhere. That is until the other hotel/restaurant began to really decline. Last week I stayed at the Hilton and lounged at Luna bar both for drinks and food. Rather you decide to sit in the restaurant area, get comfy in a chair next to the fireplace, scooch up to the bar or lounge on the patio outside which over looks the lake, you will not be disappointed. The service is always good, the food is fresh and a well rounded menu and the drinks are good and fairly priced. Everyone should consider staying at The Hilton if for nothing else but to find this comfy handout spot a pleaser. read more

I'm really torn and have mixed emotions about this place. I really wanted to like it because I loved the look and ambiance of it but had lots of disappointments unfortunately. I came here with a couple girlfriends because we wanted to come for happy hour. Happy hour here is a joke and the website lied. I'll start with that. Online it says "select half off appetizers" when we got there that was not the case. Happy hour is now just half off personal pizzas, which none of us wanted, and $1 off some select beers and wines. If it was straight forward in the first place I wouldn't of expected something else and this negative would of been avoided. Now for positives. I loved the look of this place! We had a "private" booth that had beaded curtains that came down and a little personal chandelier on our wall with a dimmer switch so we could set it at the lighting that worked for us. Such a smart idea! The booth was truly adorable and would make for a great date night! Our waitress was also a sweet heart. But now for the food. I was set on ordering appetizers because that's what we came for, so even though they were full price I still got them instead of an entree. Big mistake. I ordered the charbroiled oysters (5 in an order) and the cremini mushrooms with blue cheese fondue. Both sounded amazing but both lacked flavor. The oysters promised rep peppers, bacon and Parm cheese. All I tasted was breadcrumbs and they were very dry, no sauce to them. The fondue was very under seasoned and bland and had very little actual mushrooms. With a name of the starter as "cremini mushrooms" I expected a mushroom heavy dish. I actually didn't even eat much of the fondue at all so my waitress took it off the bill which was very nice of here to do. I would give 5 stars for our waitress and the ambience of the restaurant but the food just fell flat for me. I may come here again and order something different. My friend had a pasta dish that was actually quite tasty. So this place is worth coming to and checking out but order wisely here! read more
