The service was outstanding. I felt accommodated and checked on from the host to our server to the manager coming by personally to greet us. Impressive. I had a mocktail which was a little sweet for me but my DIL had a mixed drink (No Mock) and she loved it. I ordered the coconut shrimp (which was really good, the presentation was amazing!, I wish that the popcorn would have been just made because my greedy self wanted to eat it too!) I also ordered fish and chips which, honestly, I was being greedy! It's a huge portion. You need to have a healthy appetite for that dish. Personally, it was a little too heavily battered for my taste and also I had somewhere to be and that meal is a wrap it up I'm done for the day type meal. One hundred percent this spot is a vibe. Had a little date night here last night. Parked at the marina and walked down the pier. Like everywhere else in the city, if you're not a resident it is pay to park. I think $2 an hour. There's a little bar on the way so you can walk with a drink and enjoy the view. We ended up on the second (or third?) floor at Pier Teaki and got some drinks while waiting for our reservation. Ours was Thursday at 8 pm and definitely not needed but I wanted to ensure I got that window seat for the sunset! To be honest, the food was not my favorite. I got the wonton tuna tartar tacos as an appetizer and easily my favorite of the night. I also ordered the snapper plate that was served with blistered tomatoes, creamed corn, and tostones. It was fine. Nothing to write home about and I did have to ask for salt. My husband ordered the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pasta was a bit lacking. He also ordered steak frites (to go) and the steak was a bit overdone and dry. Not enough to send it back or make a fuss but not exactly what we wanted either. The dining room is cute and cozy. We had a window seat and didn't realize our sunset view was going to be behind the skyline. It was still gorgeous though. The kitchen has sort of an open concept and I'm not sure if that contributed to how warm it is in the dining room. They had a couple of industrial fans blowing to help but it is on the top floor with wide windows and the Fl summer sun shining right in. It's to be expected. I've seen it a lot since I've been visiting but it should be noted that almost every establishment comes with a 20% service charge. Teak has some of the best views in downtown St. Pete, which is one of the reasons we always bring our friends here when they visit. On a recent visit, we started with the clam chowder because we have been telling our friends how good it was. Unfortunately, this time it was nothing like we had before. It arrived lukewarm, was extremely thick-almost like wallpaper paste- and had an odd taste. We mentioned it to the manager and he was very apologetic and removed it from our bill. He surprised even surprised us at the end of the meal with a complimentary dessert. He explained that they tried a different recipe that day. We told him they should go back to the original one because it is much better. For my meal, I ordered the Teak house salad with blackened chicken. It's one of my favorite salads and I could eat it every day! It comes with mandarin oranges, strawberries, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons and a delicious sesame pineapple dressing. I thought I had ordered the full-sized salad, but when it arrived it was smaller than I expected. It was perfect for lunch, but I probably wouldn't order for dinner unless I had an appetizer. I've had several of their seafood dishes as well, and they're always fresh and delicious. The service is consistently friendly and attentive. My husband usually orders the short ribs and says they are some of the best he's ever had. He orders them whenever he sees them on the menu so that's saying something. Took a trip to the pier in St Petersburg, it was more then I expected. They had plenty of parking and vendors before you entered the boardwalk. There is a park with sprinklers and a concession stand to get food and drinks with a DJ playing music. Also off to the left of the broad walk was a beach and plenty people with their children were in the water. In the middle of the broad walk was a souvenir shop and when we got to the end there was the restaurant and the bar was on the top floor. The bar was so cute and there also were 3 stations to sit down and just take in the scenery. We had a drink til it was time for our lunch reservation and the second floor. They had an elevator which was much needed from all the walking we did. The bartender was very nice and welcoming he wanted us to stay but we had to make our reservation downstairs. Very busy place, there were two different areas of the bar, front and back. Front was very full so we went to the back which still had nice views. Honestly I don't understand why there's such bad reviews I really love this place and the chicken was phenomenal and my wife even enjoyed the scallops. We recently visited this restaurant to celebrate the last day of school, and it was the perfect spot to toast to summer! Located right at the end of the pier, the views of the water are absolutely stunning. It is a bit of a walk from the start of the pier, but there is a convenient shuttle available if you don't feel like making the trek. The service really stood out--the entire staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful throughout our meal. As for the food, the clear winner was the Beef Short Rib. My cousin and I shared it, and it was delicious! The meat was tender, and the accompanying potatoes and broccoli were seasoned perfectly. We also tried the mac and cheese and the pineapple fried rice. While the mac and cheese wasn't quite our style, the rice was decent, though we were hoping for a slightly stronger pineapple punch. This place has a beautiful view and the food was actually good too. We made reservations to eat inside at their restaurant (Teak), but you may not need them because the place had availability. The upstairs bar (Pier Tiki) is first come first serve and you don't need reservations there. They have private tables that you can rent by the hour, if you want. On the bottom level they have a cafe (driftwood cafe) with coffee, sandwiches, and ice cream. If you have trouble with walking or trouble with using the stairs, they have a trolley that'll take you to the restaurant at the end of the pier and there's an elevator. that'll take you upstairs. read more

I do not understand why Teak doesn't have a higher rating. Perhaps it's from the scene-y bar Teaki a floor above or the fact that it's located at the end of the pier, so people expect it to be touristy (which, I mean, it IS a go-to for tourists) and overpriced. I don't know. But I can say for sure: the food is amazing, the service is excellent, the value is on point for what you get, and the ambiance can't be beat. Good for a date night or for when family (including kids!) is in town visiting. We were seated at a table by the windows overlooking the water. You get the water views while being in the cool A/C! We were greeted by a friendly waitress who brought us a complimentary amuse bouche (SO good) with a thank you card for being returning customers. After getting drinks, we started with the calamari. Usually, we prefer calamari with traditional lemon and marinara sauce. While this one was with a more Asian-inspired sauce, the squid itself was perfectly fried (not too much) and the sauce wasn't overpowering. This was as light as a fried dish could taste! For entrees, we got the deliciously seared scallops over mushroom risotto (I don't even like risotto and I inhaled the whole thing!), incredible airline chicken over polenta (yes, you absolutely can and should get meat at this seafood restaurant!), tender short rib, the cornmeal crusted grouper (can't go wrong here!) and a side of spicy and sweet pineapple fried rice. I've been to Teak for lunch and dinner and both have been very nice. The view is unbeatable during the day, at sunset, and after dark! The drinks are delicious, and the food menu offers interesting unique items. You're definitely paying for the location, but the quality of ingredients is also excellent. I got the tuna entree with rice noodles in a ginger carrot sauce and it was delicious and light! We had a party of 8 on a Friday night and service was extremely slow, but if you're wanting to sit and enjoy the view with no rush to turn the tables over to the next reservation, Teak is a great option! Be aware that you cannot drive all the way to the restaurant, you will have to walk or take the shuttle down the pier, and it is on the second floor (there is an elevator), so it may not be totally friendly to those with limited mobility or mobility aids. read more

The location is amazing, great views and vibes especially at sunset. Hands down worst dining experience while visiting. After placing our order the Server Talia was never to be found. Not once did she check in and ask how everything was or follow up. There is a 20 percent gratuity added to every check which if I had to assume it's because the service is bad and people tend to tip accordingly. Or the servers know they are getting tipped regardless and do not care. The appetizers were alright but the entrees we ordered were a major disappointment. All of the dishes were heavily salted to the point we couldn't eat them. Overall I wouldn't come back here for the food or hospitality. We recently decided to give Teak another try after our first visit nearly 10 years ago when it first opened. Back then, we left feeling underwhelmed. The spectacular waterfront views were the highlight, but the food simply didn't measure up. We hoped that after a decade, the dining experience would have improved. Unfortunately, we were disappointed once again. The presentation of every dish was beautiful. We ordered the scallops, a fish entrée, a cheeseburger, and mac & cheese as a side. Everything looked absolutely delicious, but the flavor just wasn't there. Every dish was surprisingly bland and lacked the seasoning and depth you'd expect from a restaurant in such an iconic location. With one of the best waterfront settings in St. Petersburg, Teak has incredible potential. It's disappointing that the food doesn't live up to the view. We left feeling that Teak is a destination for the scenery rather than for a memorable meal. The location? It's fabulous. Teak has a spectacular spot at the end of the pier in St Pete. The dining room has great views of the harbor and the Tampa bay. Great at sunset! The food? It's good but not as awesome as the scenery. We enjoyed our main courses, but the dessert was pretty ordinary. It didn't even seem to resemble the menu description, so we asked the waiter if he had brought us what we ordered. He insisted it was what we ordered, so .... okay. At these prices we had hoped to be wowed by everything. But the service - uggh. The hostess seemed bored. The waiter seemed sluggish and indifferent. Sure, the waiter tried a few upsells, but his heart just wasn't in it. He came across as inexperienced, not particularly happy to be working, and it took a few tries to flag him down when we needed him. Here's the thing - Teak has gone to an automatic 20% gratuity on every check. That means that no matter how mediocre the service, we are still leaving a hefty tip - and the waiter knows it. And this place is not cheap. When we pay 20% autogratuity (and then pay sales tax on that gratuity) the cost of dinner is easily $150 for two people. At that price we should be getting excellent service even if the waiter is not having his best day. Until Teak can make that happen we probably won't come back. read more

The view around the bay was beautiful, it's a great setting. The skyline in St Pete has certainly changed/ grown since growing up here in the 80's. This is an amazing restaurant on the pier in St. Petersburg! It is on the 3rd floor. My husband and I walked down the pier to the restaurant. Bottom floor is Driftwood cafe, 2nd floor was a gift shop, 3rd floor was Teak restaurant, and top floor was Pier Teaki! The Teak restaurant was super nice. My husband and I sat at the bar with an outstanding view of the ocean! There is seating throughout the restaurant with amazing views. Alex, the manager, was working the bar area & he was fantastic. As a party of 6 plus two 4 year old girls. The crew was very nice for a rainy Sunday evening dinner. It's quite a walk from the nearest parking lot to the end of the pier. There is a tram both ways but after you eat please take the time to appreciate the pier and the fishing deck! Our appetizers garage were brought out quickly and presented very nice. All perfectly flavored and a real delight. Our main courses were Sea Scallops with mushroom risotto, Peruvian paella, mahi mahi and the charcuteries board, a Lamb shank and a full wedge salad with grilled shrimp. For its location, I thought the prices were pretty reasonable for the atmosphere. Our server Zach had excellent recommendations. I forgot to get a picture of the crab cake appetizer, because we inhaled them. Definitely get those if you come here. I had the Cuban Eggs Benedict, which were delicious. Next time I'll definitely get something with seafood, because that's where they seem to excel. My dad got their Mahi Mahi and it looked really good. My only suggestion is that they consider clarifying their cocktails to help with their presentation and flavor, but still very drinkable and not excessively priced. Logistics with parking honestly was perfectly fine, there's tons of parking at the end of the pier and on a weekend day for lunch we had zero issue with finding a spot. Great place to have a long lunch in good company. Spectacular dining room with giant floor to ceiling windows overlooking Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg. Good music and acoustics: somehow we enjoyed an intimate conversation during a busy lunch. Service is good, friendly, having a good time. The food is standard fare with a twist... I had the New England Clam Chowder, unlike I've ever had, perhaps with paprika? A bacon roux? Lots of clams. The fried Brussels Sprouts with a hint of both sweetness and spice have a great texture and were perfect to munch before our food came. Had a great experience at Teak! The service was excellent and the waitress (Alysia) was super accommodating! The ambiance was amazing and great! It's so cool to sit by the windows and the look out on the water. The filet was great. I added shrimp to it, and it made the dish so much better! The twice baked potatoes that came with the filet were so good! My friend had the Tucson chicken and said it was unfortunately underwhelming. Would definitely recommend! read more

Anniversary dinner @teakstpete tonight! We arrived early and they had no problem seating us right away. We ordered the calamari (the dipping sauce was spicy!) and Bill had a cup of clam chowder. I enjoyed the scallops with a hazelnut fennel salad and mushroom risotto while Bill had the salmon with an orange sauce, rice and bok choy. They gave us a complimentary sundae for our anniversary and it was so good! The views were beautiful and we watched a lot of sailboats go out and airplanes land at the small airport across the way! It was a beautiful night weather wise and we sat outside afterwards enjoying the breeze and watching the water. read more
