Wow these rides are so exciting! I love it! Coney Island is a big park in Brooklyn. How would you rate this?

Honestly everything is becoming extremely pricey. But for the kids it's no price on seeing how excited and happy they are. We purchase a card with $50 so the kids could have access to all the rides and play games. Within a hour the card was completely finish. We got to go on a few rides and play the basketball hoop game. The kids enjoyed their self so I enjoyed myself. Tons of new rides

Luna Park was a bucket list stop for me, and it didn't disappoint. The history of the park is so cool, and I loved the vintage rides and old-school style of the park, signs, and stalls. Sitting right on the water, it offers some really pretty views, especially at sunset over the beach. It's super easy to get to via the subway, which made my tourist life a lot easier. The park is free to walk around, which is great, though you'll need to pay for the rides and games if you want to try your luck. I didn't do so hot but walked away with a Masterball plushie so, there's that. I visited in October when everything was decorated for Halloween which added a fun, spooky vibe with lots of photo ops throughout. I'd love to come back in the summer to see the park at full volume with all its rides and stalls open.

Luna park is really just a permanent state fair. Don't expect anything fancy or near what a theme park is like but if you're looking to lose some money on carnival games this is the spot for you! It's not really pretty here, not even at night. Just keep that in mind and temper your expectations for a trip to Coney Island.

I went to Luna park on memorial day. The rides were nicer than I remember. I stayed at the Luna Zone A section of the park so my review is strictly for that section. The price is $54 if you are 48 inches and above and $49 if you are 48 inches and below. I believe the price is 10% cheaper if you buy it online and you can avoid the lines to buy the tickets for unlimited pass. You can also pay $1 per 1 credit and $100 for 100 credits + 20 bonus credits, $200 for 200 credits plus 50 bonus credits and $400 for 400 credits + 120 bonus credits. Most rides are 5 credits, so depending on how many rides you plan to go on, it might be cheaper buying the credits, plus you can use the credits for games around the park too (they are around 5 credits as well). In addition, they credits do not expire and you can save it for another time at Luna park. Overall, a great experience, everything was clean. My advice is too come early to avoid the crowd at some of the rides and lunch line too. (Arrive when it opens at 11 am)

Luna park is meant for teens and kid's. But there's rides the whole family can enjoy. The wheel and the coaster within the park are the best rides. You have to buy points or a day pass that'll grant you full access to Luna rides. Great for tikes and tweens to have multiple chances to ride. The coaster will let you ride double since it's short. There's variety of food options from Hispanic to Asian street food. I'd go on a weekday, less crowd and able to move around freely. Have fun! To add, there's multiple restrooms on the pier not sure within the park but please watch your kids. It's still a high traffic area and sketchy zombies. There's police usually patrolling every area during busy season.

Luna Park is located at Coney Island closer to the beach than Nathan's Famous. The subway D, F, N, Q lines all go there. You can buy your tickets at the entrance (see photo). PRO TIP: lunaparknyc.com If you buy the wristbands online, it is $65 vs $75 at the park. Under 48" is $43 vs $53 at the park. These give you unlimited rides for 4 hours. Seems expensive but there does not seem to be long lines whenever we are there. Most recently we went on Friday from 2-6pm and we did not wait very long if at all. The wrist band does not include Skychaser, Slingshot, and Raceway. The only one I would have wanted to do was the Raceway. The games are not included but seem about normal price for games at other similar places. The entrance to the Cyclone is off of Surf Ave East of the main entrance where you get the wrist bands or cards. The Cyclone is old but still really fun and fast. Soaring Eagle lets you corkscrew in flying position. Thunderbolt does a few loops. Since there were no lines we got to go in the front position on all the rides. One weird thing is there is Deno's Amusement Park kind of in between Luna Park and the Cyclone. This is a separate park from Luna. We definitely have a great time both when the kids were in elementary school and now that they are in high school.

Luna Park out of the 26 different parks I've visited this year this is one of the most anticipated ones for me as I've wanted to come to Coney Island ever since I was a little girl. So this park and whole area are legendary in it's own way as pretty much everyone knows about Coney Island but Luna Park now a days is also very unique in another way as the park is owned by Zamperla which is a ride manufacturer based out of Italy so pretty much all of the rides and roller coasters here are ones that they have manufactured I guess you can say that this park is kinda like their show room in the United States. While they might not be my favorite manufacturer they do however make some awesome and unique roller coasters and rides that can be found at a ton of different parks all over the world some of them in Luna Park are at least unique to the US as I've only seen and ridden a handful of these models elsewhere. Their coaster collection is pretty cool in a way as they have a good amount of unique designs like some of which are their own spin on some of them out there like Sorin Eagle which is a very unique flying coaster as I've never ridden another one that's designed like this. You also can't count out the Cyclone the most OG wooden coaster around like that's just a landmark in the coaster community and I must say it was a very fun ride as it was smooth and just perfect for it's age! So next to thunderbolt you will find a bunch of track for a new project for 2022 which is super awesome as who doesn't love a new coaster and I must say it's nice to see how much Zamperla keeps adding new designs to this park! Overall this was an awesome day with some fun rides and coasters it was definitely worth the trip here and I'm sure I'll get back here again at some point as you can't ever go wrong with a trip to Coney Island!

They don't let you ride if you have a small waist bag on. They don't tell you until after you pay and waste $10. There is no refund either

IS the park and attractions open during the week? im visiting this week for my sons bday! :)

I went to there on weekday and there were opened.

How much does an average lunch cost?

There isn't really good in LP except for ice cream and funnel cake and that kind of stuff. The bird walk has food tho. Average cost: $15-$20 per person.

    How long are the lines?

Sometimes they're long but not at all what you would experience at a major theme park. The line moves quickly. I've never waited longer than 20 min on a line.

What are the prices to go in Luna park and is there any limits?

You only pay for rides, food, and games. Adults: 69 all day wrist bands… Read more

How much does it cost to go, like the tickets or bracelets?

Fixed date: From $29. Band Any Date: Starting at $40. Band Otherwise, a dollar a credit.

I bought my ticket online, where I have to go?

I nvr bought my tickets online but i assume once u buy them and set the date online you just show the booth ur receipt on ur phone on that date and they give u what u paid for.

    Do they have Go Karting?

    Yes.

What is the busiest day at the park?

The busiest days are usually holidays and weekends. If you would like to have less people in the park, weekday mornings are the best. I hope it helps!

I'm about to head to New York next week (3/19-3/24). Is Coney Island open?

    Yes

Coney Island was almost one hour ride away from Brooklyn via the subway (Q Line dropped me off…read moreright near the entrance) so I decided last minute to head out there since I've never seen it. We have the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk back home but Coney Island dwarfed it. For a Friday, the 2 amusement parks were busy with lots of kids and parent chaperones wearing the same t-shirts. I wasn't here to ride the rides but to wander and take it all in. Ticket prices varied per ride (little kids cheaper than the more thrilling ones for older kids/adults. All day wrist bands also were offered and maybe a better deal if staying a few hours or hitting the big rides. Lots of food options available in and around the parks. The most recognizable one for me was Nathan's Hot Dogs which actually served seafood, burgers and more besides their famous namesake hot dogs. The wooden boardwalk was in good condition and wide. It extended all the way down to the aquarium and Brighton Beach.. lots of benches to sit or sun yourself. Bathrooms were located near the beach but interestingly elevated above. Nice design from the outside but a little cleaner than your typical public bathrooms since there were staff busy cleaning when I popped in. The beaches wasn't as busy as the park and even less people were in the water. Overall fairly clean that day. Lifeguards were on duty, FDNY zipped by in a unique ATV style ambulance and later a patrol showing a good attention to safety and quick response. I'm glad I was able to finally see Coney Island in person. It should have enough options to entertain, thrill or just let you relax.

Out of all the attractions, these are the top three highlights I highly recommend seeing: 1) Coney Island Beach or Brighton Beach Both beaches are free to enter. Be sure to bring your own beach towel, lounge chair and bathing suit. Catch some sun rays or take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean. 2) Pat Auletta Steeplechase Pier Walk along the pier. This is the perfect fishing location for all anglers! If you don't feel like fishing, grab a seat and enjoy the soothing views of the ocean. 3)Nathan's Be sure to stop by the original Nathan's, home of the annual hot dog eating contest. Although it's not the best tasting hot dog, this is a historic location that everyone should visit at least once. Regretfully, a major disadvantage of this boardwalk are the non-cinematic appearances of an abandoned amphitheater and parachute tower. Aside from this, it's a cool place to spend an afternoon especially during the summer and spring seasons. #coneyisland #coneyislandboardwalk #coneyislandbeach #nathansfamous #nathansfamoushotdogs #riegelmann #riegelmannboardwalk #stillwellavenue #stillwellave #pataulettasteeplechasepier #patauletta #pataulettapier #nathansannualhotdogeatingcontest

At 10 bucks, it's a tiny bit pricey, but still reasonable. On a Sunday afternoon in August, there was still only about a 10 minute wait. I was lucky, when it was my turn to board, I got the last car on the train. I really got whipped around!. It's a fun ride. For being an almost 100 year-old wooden coaster. The drops definitely get you. Yes, it is a bumpy ride, and, on the turns, throws you around and beats you up a tiny bit, but that's the fun of the ride! And hey, the seats are cushioned! (unlike the coaster at New York, New York in Vegas. That one throws you around and beats you up, but it shouldn't, because that one is a steel coaster that should've been designed better. But, hey, I digress...) I've always wanted to ride the cyclone, and I'm glad I finally did. It was a blast!

So glad I checked it off my bucketlist! lol I don't think I need to ride it again. haha The lines can get long, but they keep it moving. On a Saturday afternoon I got through to the ticket booth in maybe 15 minutes? Tickets are a little pricey at $10 per ride. Cash or credit accepted. You'll get a card (which may be reloadable for future rides). I kept it as a souvenir. You'll then walk up and scan your card before you line up. Before you board the cars, you can check in any bags/purses you have for free and they will give you a bracelet with your number to collect after the ride. I'd suggest leaving everything behind (phone, hat, sunglasses). Once you board the cart, they'll pull a lever over and secure you in. Initially, its a nice ride up and you can see a cool view of the park. Once we got to the top, every fall was crazy wild. I held on tight to the bars as I slide around the seat. I felt like my teeth rattled and I might fall out of the car. lol I guess that's teh thrill of it! The ride is less than 2 minutes and has a number of high falls. Not suggested for anyone with joint pain or a very weak stomach. Once we got off the ride I had to sit on the bench they have to rest. Phew! Sure is a wild roller coaster! Before you exit you turn in your bracelet and can pick up your bags. After you exit, you may preview your photo from the ride for purchase. I ended up getting the digital photo for $7. I think prints were 2 for $20.

Post-bumper cars it was nice to visit good ole Nathan's again have my old fav a Soft Shell Crab sandwich, two hot dogs, & their great Crink cut fries. Anyway back to the Skooter place. Old vintage bumper cars go round & round while you try to bump your brother & wife. There are always strangers who somehow get a kick off ramming you, in a painful whiplash way....but again this is a bad area of Crooklyn. At least the now have seat restraints that will stop you from flipping out of the car, but watch for a headache when somebody rams you hard. Try to avoid if possible. Eldorado, is an old "friend" & has been here even before I was a teen working at the next door now defunct Carvel's Ice-cream store. We got used to hearing the "Bump you Ass Off" & various music at that remote era of rock & disco. This was not a safe area, and I/we too many precautions while we went to work there. I already reviewed my KUNG FU techniques which I practiced with this Crazy Japanese guy at the now defunct King's Plaza Carvel. At the King's Plaza Carvel, I also worked with Crazy Mr. Squirrel & the nutty Eson brothers. One was an Ex-cop & the other totally wacked out. At the Coney one, we had baseball bats behind the counter & a riot gate. The manager was also armed. My insane brother, who did football, once almost ran through a wall there. Again, it was a crazy NYC crew. The owner once offered me, my own store, but I decided to go to College, rather than be a budding Icecream millionaire like him....now I think that was a mistake. Anyway, the Eldorado did send us a stream of customers, even in the coldness of winter, as well as, the nearby Nathan's. I grew nostalgic as I bumped my ass off as the memories of bygone decades raced past me to 35 years ago.... when CONEY ISLAND was still KING!!! So many lights. The overall atmosphere will get you lost in a state of trance if you stay there long enough. Simply, cool. Pros: Disco lights, awesome sound system, powerful air conditioning, independently operated, affordable, and all arcades work perfectly. Cons: New (2012) DJ does not play dance music. Just hip hop and reggae. Staff is somewhat unprofessional. Too many bumper cars inside. I would not recommend wearing a white or yellow dress when riding the bumper cars. I have seen many people step on the chairs to get in and out of the bumper cars. I would like to see them play the same kind of music they played from 2011 and before. The original DJ had the best taste. To me, this ride (with the music) brings life to Surf Avenue. I would also like to see new bumper cars in the ride, as sometime the older ones spin out of control.
