So so so bad! This is the first review I can truly say that if it was possible to give zero stars Luna's pet grooming deserves it. Whatever you do not get your pet groomed by them. Our normal pet groomer was busy so we gave this company and try, and they're so bad they hurt our dog. The cuts were like a todddler grabbing a razor for the first time and cutting their own hair. What's the worst thing about this company is that we reached out to the owner and they apologized and promised they'd personal give our dog a trim the next time and use it as a training moment for their new employee. We agreed, and now they won't respond to any message and it's too late to do a chargeback on their lies. read more

We got our little dachshund pup, Cosmo professionally groomed for the first time here. I put out a Yelp request to help me find a groomer near me and Luna's was one of the first to respond with same week availability! We opted for a full groom service since Cosmo's hair was a little wild and needed to be trimmed and tamed. They showed up 30 mins earlier but we didn't mind. They asked us what we had in mind cut wise, and tbh we just showed them spots where he needed trims (tail, butt area, paw pads, and behind the ears). To my astonishment they were done in 35 mins! They did a quality job! Some parts of his coat could have been trimmed slightly more (noticed after they left but they offered to trim any areas more while finishing up) but it was definitely so much better than what he looked like before. The groomer showed up and I explained the health issues one of my dogs has with breathing. She responded okay and took the dog to her truck. She returned 30 minutes later after completing the service and my dog was turning purple, gagging on foam and pooping from gagging so hard. I asked why she just now brought her in and she replied she does not speak english. I rushed my dog to the ER where she spent nearly 2 days sedated and on oxygen. The bill came to over $4800. I called and asked how we are going to work this out and was told they would refund the service for just that dog and no vet bills. They have stopped returning calls and text messages. Really wanted to like Luna's Pet Grooming. It's easy to book on their website, their pictures look super cute, and they're mobile. They do all the services that I want/need for my dog. Every time we use them, my dog is super clean but to be honest, I am really unhappy with the cuts. I used Luna's service two times. The first time I liked his paws and how fluffy he turned out. I tried another service previous to using Luna's that gave him a similarly square faced haircut so I was trying Luna and thought the first cut was an improvement, but not exactly what we wanted. The second time was today. I made sure this time to text the pictures a few days prior instead of only showing them right before the appointment (and reminding them of the pictures I texted). I reiterated that we liked his body hair length last time and the face was close last time, but we just wanted it to be more rounded (specifically said less beard and less cheek/mustache hair like in the reference photo). When I picked him up, he was shaved! I never said to shave him, especially because it's cold right now. His face also wasn't rounded and has cheek hair that's a lot longer than the rest of his facial hair. I'm not saying these haircuts are inherently ugly or bad, I just personally don't prefer them for my dog. I'd prefer a groomer that can use pictures as a reference to give my dog the haircut I'd like. Especially at the $120 price point, I don't want to have to cut my dog's hair right after his haircut like I've needed to both times. If you use Luna and like the haircut they're giving your dog, that's great! I would continue to use them too since I'm happy with every other aspect of the groom and they give the cutest bandanas. But unfortunately since they aren't the best at following reference photos, this will be my last time using Luna's. read more

I cannot recall ever leaving a negative review... until now. I even took a day to calm down and solicit outside opinions to ensure that I am not being the male embodiment of a Karen. But after waking up to a brand new day and taking one look a my poor dog... Luna's Pet Grooming BUTCHERED my dog with the single WORST grooming job I have ever encountered. This is the type of haircut that garners Internet fame on Reddit, FailArmy, or YouHadOneJob with the title, "When you go to the groomer and ask for a Brazilian" (credit: Charles Cooper). So, if you choose to proceed with Luna's Pet Grooming after reading this review, then you do so at your dog's risk and a big, "I told you so" from me. We wanted our dog shaved (we first checked with our vet who was OK with cutting his hair short), but we very SPECIFICALLY said just the top layer and not to shave him too close to the skin (and by close, we were thinking a half inch or so). Any groomer who knows anything about dogs doesn't shave a big dog with light fur down to his skin no matter what, but not Luna's Pet Grooming. She shaved our dog so close, he was even bleeding in places. Any closer, and she would have been operating on him without a medical license. At the same time, she didn't touch his head or tail at all. So not only did she practically fillet him in the middle, he looks a Dr. Seuss character from "If I Ran the Circus". Then when I confront her over the phone about how unhappy I am, she hangs up on me because she thought that I was "mean". If one defines mean as being crestfallen that my dog was given an unforgivable haircut, cannot go out in even cloudy daylight without SPF 70 (credit: Erik Cooper), and looks absolutely ridiculous, then yes, I am pretty mean. Rather than blaming our directions (which were crystal clear) and her equipment (which apparently has only one setting... WTF), perhaps she should develop a thicker skin as a business owner, accept the well-deserved criticism, and go get some actual training in grooming dogs. Unfortunately, my dog can't develop a thicker skin, which he is really going to need in the scorching Austin sun, now that his chances of getting sunburned are on par with an English tourist slathered in tanning accelerator on Spring Break in Cancun. To be fair, I did receive a full refund (upon demanding it, not being offer it), which I will have to use to try to salvage what remains of Gus' dignity with another groomer to at least try to blend in his head and tail. Then I will probably have to start a GoFundMe for the therapy both of us need after this debacle. read more

I want to give negative stars but can't. I went online to book an appointment and all they had for Friday was 4:30-5 and I booked that appointment. On Friday morning I began receiving text changing my appointment to Saturday 11-11:30, then another text changing it yet again to Saturday 9-9:30. Well, its Saturday at noon and no one ever showed up or even had the decency to text or call to update me. I even called and left a voicemail shortly after 9:30, no response. First of all, what if I had already made other plans for Saturday, they didn't even bother ask if the change worked for me. But the real kicker is never bothering to show up. I won't waste my time with them again and you shouldn't either. read more

So I used these guys for a while and overall do not recommend them despite the convenience that they come to you. Here is my experience. I booked online which seemed awesome. I then got a text the day of service letting me know they were not coming b/c the online system is not optimized for areas so it's more of establishing contact so they can schedule an appointment that makes sense for when they will be in your area. The first time of grooming (once I was actually set) they showed up and did an okay job though the price seemed high (greater than $100). From there I was able to schedule via text, which I love. They would text when they would be in the area to see if I needed services and that was convenient. I do recall asking them not to use the rubber band bows b/c they would tangle my dogs hair and despite asking at the service start they forgot... no big deal. This worked a few times, but then they never showed to an appointment so I sent another text and got booked again. They had to resked day of, which I understand (especially in COVID). The came a few days later and took my dog. When she returned she was legit shaking. I thought she was really cold. They said nothing abnormal and I paid (and tipped) and they went along. Shortly after they left I realized my dog had a big open wound under her arm. They had cut her pretty bad and said nothing to me about it. I was done at that point. Convenience is not worth the trauma they caused my dog and at their prices I expect better service. read more

My dog is a lab mix and doesn't require a cut just a bath and nail trim but I paid $135 which on the website includes a cut service so I assumed that I would pay less but didn't and the service only took them 35 mins. Whst I loved about Luna's. My dog Sam is 12 yrs old on palliative care with liver tumor. He cannot stand for long periods of time. The technicians listened to my concerns. They did a full groom in one hour. They were on time. And they came all the way out to Point Venture. A previous groomer took advantage of my grief for my Sammy and price gauged me. I have no problem with the cut my dog got. It was the irresponsibility of the groomers releasing my dog without a leash on. He is a runner and it was hot out, and of course he ran. Now he can barely walk because there is flesh missing from the bottom of each of his feet because of how hot the pavement was. And all this happened right before i'm flying out of town to see my family for the first time in a year and a half, due to Covid, I will probably have to cancel this trip to stay and take care of my dog, let alone what this will cost me in ER/vet care. read more

On the day of the appointment our time was 3:15 and they were not able to get to us until 6 (this is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5). I did my research before booking with Luna's Grooming and seemed like it was a good fit with Caroline's experience. My Shih Tzu is particular about who he is around - does not like men at all. I received a text that Caroline was in route and was excited to finally get my dog groomed. I was very surprised when my door bell rang and it was a young man saying he was with Luna's. I was hesitant but still willing to give it a try. I walked my dog over to the van and maybe hoping Caroline was there and nope, another man. And both with no masks at all. Both men were friendly and professional so not too upset with them. I told them before giving my dog over if I could stay close because my dog will freak out once he sees I am gone. And they said that it will be worse and that they would let me know if they need me. I left and not even 5 minutes in my door bell rang again because they needed me to put a muzzle on him. I should have left right then and there. Eventually, I left and they rang again saying my dog was being aggressive and won't be able to continue. He was willing to give it a try if I was there - as I initially suggested. They got his body semi done - not the best work but was shorter than he went in. My dog continued to not cooperate and snipped at the young man and he just became so frustrated and legit just put his hands up and said he can't do it and service over. I took my dog and waited outside the van to discuss pricing. He was going to give me a full price for not even a full service. He didn't even want to discuss pricing and said someone would follow up with me and he left. He tried to say that it was not communicated how aggressive my dog was. My dog is not aggressive. He was not familiar with the young man. And they did not try to get familiar with him. And also no one asked me any sort of questions regarding my dog. And I tried to tell them initially how he was. It is not what I expected at all from a company who prides themselves on their services. My son(dog) was definitely NOT treated like FAMILY. It has been the worst experience in my time Grooming my dog. My dog was so traumatized he popped an eye vessel. It was a stressful time for both of us I should have said no as soon as I saw Caroline was not the one who showed up. It is the next day of my service and waiting for someone to follow up. I want to be fair and pay fairly for what was done but for also to take accountability of what happened. I am going to learn to groom my own dog after this incident. Never again. **update - Gaby followed up with a text saying that I would not be charged since they did not complete the service. A few times they didn't even cut my dogs nails when I'm paying $100+. I have always paid the same price for my older dog and today she decided to charge me $20 more without any notice or reasoning. I understand with this economy and prices going up for everything, but if she knew how to COMMUNICATE then she should have let me know beforehand that it was gonna be more and not when it's time to pay.
