Having never heard of Gyrotonics before, I decided to give it a try ~ and I'm so glad I did! I travel from Manhattan to Teaneck for my sessions, which says a lot about how meaningful this work has become to me. I'm 75 years old and have always felt somewhat disconnected from my body. After having both hips replaced, I never imagined I could move with such ease again. But through Earline's one-on-one guidance and gentle stretching, I've experienced a remarkable transformation. I should have said no. Not like this I haven't. People have suggested that I take a class before and I really had no idea that it would be so beneficial. I definitely didn't want to take a full hour class or hot yoga! I live right down the street and I had no idea Fire shaper was even there. I really should have realized by the name that it was gonna be hot, but I suppose than I probably wouldn't have tried it. They have certain rules in place to maintain social distancing. You're only allowed to take your mask off at your spot. They're not renting things. It was a great experience for my mind, my body and my soul. Holding the various positions build your strength, endurance and flexibility. Focusing on your body is a great way to clear your mind of whatever stress you are feeling in your life. The heat definitely helps you warm up your muscles to maximize your stretch and burn more calories. Ariel was the instructor of the flow class and she was great. She took us through a lot of different poses that flowed together. She seemed to give everybody in the class the attention that they needed. I didn't bring any water, my towel was small and it really was pretty pretty brutal. But when it was over I felt great and I slept like a baby. The next day I was surprised that my legs were as sore as they were. Did I get a full body workout? Fire shaper did everything right. You can buy classes and sign up for class online. The studio was kept clean. They sold anything you would need. It seemed like some of the people there knew each other and had a family environment.

So I believe that today was my fourth class and I have to be honest the first few I wasn't so sure if I was going to keep going because I was a little intimidated and uncomfortable. I am very self concise and felt "out of place" the first few times , that changed today . First off the instructor Amanda is wonderful. I was feeling like I was getting a lot out of her class and I felt like she was really paying attention to the students and when they needed some guidance. Unfortunately I got very dizzy and the middle class and had to walk out because I really wasn't feeling well at all she came out to check on me and suggested I go in and just at least lay down on the mat I try to do so for a few minutes but I knew I was going to be sick so I walked out again. When I came out of the bathroom another instructor I think her name is Karen P was waiting to see if I was OK. She is the main reason that I'm going to be coming back to the classes she was a complete stranger to me but she sat me down and spoke to me and pull things out of me like she had known me for years and made me realize a lot of things and the reasons why I'm having such a hard time in the classes. Both she and Amanda are huge asset to the studio and I am grateful for the fact that I actually got sick today because if it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't of gone back because I would've just given up if no one spoke to me and pushed me through it. I really do hope that the owners see this post and let their instructors know what a difference they made for me this evening I feel positive and I'm going to keep coming back it may take me a long time before I could do a lot of the moves but I'm not giving up

I have been coming here for the past two years and could not be more thankful to my beautiful instructor Carol Berlin. Her patients, love, help, passion and devotion to her students is incredible. I have found so much in this peaceful studio. Not only have I developed in yoga but I have become a stronger and better person. This place is truly a golden treasure and whoever is looking to learn yoga and help themselves, this is the place. But after leaving a message to make an appointment and getting contacted immediately by the most pleasant person I decided I would go. I went on a monday afternoon when there were no classes in session and was greeted by a warm receptionist I believe was named Alexandria. She was very nice and friendly and explained all the procedures for the session. The facility was beautiful and well kept. I was glad that I went and will consider going again even though the facility is a way from my home. I hope to participate in some yoga classes before my next session. I wished I lived closer to this little gem.
