The chapel, which was used for a cocktail hour the night before, is clean & appears to be recently built or recently renovated. It's a romantic setting. Just before the reception began while pictures were being taken, guests were able to chit chat at tall tables on a patio-like setting with an outdoor 'hut' bar. Very charming! The views were incredible for fall foliage. I cannot speak to what it costs to have a wedding here, but it was clean & organized. They offer a package with an open bar with a limited selection. All of the staff was friendly, including the bartenders & the ones passing hors d'oeuvres. I'd suggest this location for a barn wedding, but be mindful of the parking & the traffic that goes by. We could hear cars go by during the ceremony but that's out of the venue's control.

Then I emailed him as the day got closer to give an update on the number of people we expected and to clarify a few things. We couldn't afford his appetizer option, so I mentioned that we would make our own apps. Also that we didn't want to use his cheap plastic plates and paper napkins since we wanted the event to feel more formal. We had already discussed that I would be renting china, linens, etc and he had no problem with it. Then out of the blue, he wrote back saying that he "tried but could no longer work with me" on this. He couldn't accept outside food and couldn't do our function for the same price now that it was "formal." Now, I hadn't actually spoken to him in weeks, so saying that he tried to work with me was bogus. We certainly could have worked out the appetizer situation (I can understand where he's coming from), but we hadn't changed anything on the menu and somehow he now couldn't work within our budget because we were "changing" it to formal (based on our renting china and linens). He sent my deposit back without even calling me to discuss, with less than two months until the wedding, leaving us scrambling to find someone who was available on short notice. Personally, I think he found a better paying job and decided to take it, despite having accepted and cashed my deposit check more than two months prior. Highly unprofessional and certainly unethical. What also bothered me was that I would email him a list of questions and he would always call to answer them, so I would then have to pull up my email, copy it to a word doc, then jot down notes regarding all of his answers. He didn't like email. However when it came time to drop us, he chickened out and sent an email. Not even the courtesy of a call to try to work it out, or even just to explain himself. Stay away...

There was a window in front and in back to allow air circulation which was a nice bonus. The woman checking us in even asked if I wanted an extra towel (for my hair). Being a woman, she understood. Oh, and another plus that is a point of contention in a lot of motels/hotels: lighting over the bathroom mirror. This was excellent! A woman's touch, obviously. Note that there is no coffee maker in the room if that's important to you. It wasn't to me. Final plus: Close to the trailhead for hiking to Galehead hut and Munroe's for 7am breakfast. Definitely plusses!

She went out of her way accommodate requests and to ensure she provided places I would like to see and things to do while we were visiting. Rooms are all pet friendly and we stayed in a suite like room with a small full kitchen and two bedrooms. The shower was hot (though small), beds were adiquit and the room smelled clean. The office had a bit of an odor about it and I was nervous when checking in but it seemed to be just in the office, not in the room. There is a small trail down to a beaver pond behind the property which was a nice addition to our stay. There was also a grill and picnic tables that would be great in the summer. We hired Brian to cater my daughter's wedding last spring, and Brian is wonderful to work with on…read moreevery level. We loved that he advised us on all areas of our event - helped connect us with a bar service, create a menu, and offered great ideas and presentation that not only met our needs but made the meal really special. We had searched for a while to find a caterer, and really scored by finding Brian! He's not only an experienced chef, but because he's local to the North Conway area, he could prepare food in his own commercial kitchen and bring it to our venue. This eliminated the need to bring in a portable kitchen, and dramatically decreased the catering cost compared to other caterers we talked with. He offered so many extras other caterers don't - plates, flatware, sign boards, etc. - all of which would otherwise need to be rented, that it really reduced the cost and simplified the whole process. I can't recommend Brian enough. He's a professional, talented chef, a great resource for planning an event, and a nice guy!

We used Paulette Couture Photography for our wedding this past Memorial Day Weekend. Most importantly, we loved that because our venue was hours away from Paulette's home, and because we were having multiple events over the weekend, Paulette was willing to spend the entire weekend with us! We got her a cabin onsite, and she took it from there. She captured detailed photos of the resort and took time to familiarize herself with the venue in advance of the big day. It meant so much to us to have her with us the entire weekend because it allowed us, our friends, and our family to put their phones and cameras away and not worry about taking photos themselves, and instead be in the moment. During each event, Paulette was hardly noticeable at all. She was completely respectful of the interactions we were having with one another, and did her absolute best to capture these moments from the sidelines. After the weekend was over, Paulette was extremely fast in getting our photos back to us. When the package arrived in the mail, we were thrilled about the gorgeous presentation - we received a beautiful wooden box with a few of her favorites already printed for us, as well as a thumb drive of photos organized by event - you could totally see her passion for photography in the presentation of the package! We are so looking forward to working with Paulette again, and absolutely recommend her for capturing your big day!
