It's a grounded pork. It combines really well with the beans and cheese. It has a very unique flavor profile. I can see why it's so popular. The Frijol and Queso was my absolute favorite. SO creamy!! I love the thickness of the maiz. And it wasn't too oily! My favorite part was the cabbage salad. It is slightly fermented. It kind of resembles a very very mild kimchi or sauerkraut. Super flavorful and bright. I thought the bag of red sauce would be spicy but it's actually quite sweet. It pairs perfectly with the pupusas. It is tomato based. I always feel very healthy after eating El Salvadoran food. I especially felt great after eating here. The quality and balance is all there.

A nice and welcoming restaurant with great takeout options. The service was great, the food took a bit- but it was 100% worth the wait. These are some filled pupusas with two different salsas. Today , 11-9-25, I order 3 pupusas to go, 2 chicharrón con queso ( 99% queso , 1% chicharrón) that's if they even put chicharrón in it. It was horrible. It's like if I had order just queso. This normally happens with their pupusas. I wanted to see if they modified it for the better yet and nope. Pupusa wasn't bad, taste wise. 7/10. But that's if I would of had requested a cheese pupusa. The environment and service inside the restaurant is good. I enjoy that about the place. Just the pupusas and their tortillas throw me off. Try to avoid these dishes here and you'll have a better time.

The jarocho taco which is basically a shrimp taco on a cheese crusted tortilla is excellent. Service is what you would expect at a ma and pop shop. The cashier was patient enough to explain to me what a jarocho taco was and also spoke English which was nice for me. Last time I dined I just used butchered Spanish and got by with that but thats on me with practicing more Spanish.

I eventually called him out because there was no reason to treat a paying customer that way. Everyone has stressful days, but that's not an excuse to be rude or mock customers for placing an order. The food may be good, but customer service matters just as much. I hope management addresses this because no customer should feel embarrassed or disrespected simply for ordering food.

He nodded, packed the tamales into a sealed bag and placed in a brown paper bag, and handed it to me. When I got home, I discovered my order was completely wrong. Instead of corn tamales, I received pork tamales, which I don't like it at all. I confirmed my order twice and still ended up with the wrong items. This was especially frustrating because I made a special trip from Anaheim, so it wasn't a quick drive back to have the mistake corrected. I trusted that the sealed bag contained the correct order, and unfortunately it didn't. The staff really needs to pay closer attention and double-check orders before handing them to customers. It's such a simple step that would have prevented this entire experience. If you decide to come here, I highly recommend opening your bag and checking every item before you leave. I hate leaving negative reviews, but this experience was very disappointing and honestly makes me think twice about coming back.
