Solid beer, pretty good pizza, awesome olives, really nice, friendly, helpful staff. My favorite beer was Vivace Saison. Had a nice spiciness to it. Nice venue. Wooden floor, wooden tables, wooden chairs. Would come again when I'm in the mood for substantial eating and beer. I had a very nice time here.

We had some time to kill before a concert later in the evening so decided drop into Luppolo Brewery. It's located a few doors down from La Casa Gelato. We dropped in on a Thursday (around 5:00pm) for a quick drink. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating and even has a tiny area for standup. Chill music; they were playing one of Carly Rae Japsen's albums. Food menu is small and split into snacks & platters, piadine and late night eats. For beers, there was half a dozen options on tap. - Flight ($7.50 for 4) - we opted for the new world sour (#4), gose with black lime (#7), wild saison with pear (#9) and oatmeal stout (#6). The new world sour was my favourite of the four. Wild saison was decent but the pear is very subtle. - Taralli ($2.00) - Italian pretzels with fennel seeds. This isn't what we expected when we read pretzels but they were better than they looked. Good texture. Enjoyed the chill, laid back vibes at Luppolo.

Tarte raspberry

Yum. This place is great. The raspberry beer we saw another couple looked so good we ordered it as well. It was so delicious. I wish we had stayed here longer because the patio is nice (with shaded areas) and the variety of beers looked pretty good. We ordered pizza as well which was good. Our waitress was super nice and fantastic. I definitely want to go back and try some other beers and purchase some to take home!

Italian themed brewery near what is Little Italy. Parking is available in front, as well as in a lot next to the building. This lot is really tricky though. It can only be entered from the street behind (Union), but the lot does NOT allow cars through to the front street (Venables). Anyone parking here has to back out the entire length of the lot afterwards. Something to keep in mind. The interior is a bit plain with the tiles, but it is trendy. Nice atmosphere for having a good chat. My favourite area to sit is tucked away in the back, with a view of the production area. Flights are served in triangular shaped boards. Beer selection is quite decent. There are 8 beers to choose from. I've tried them all and they're good. Definitely will be back at some point. Recommended.

Always on the hunt for new BC breweries, I checked out Luppolo on a recent Saturday trip across the border and ordered a glass of their brown ale. The ale was pretty good, though not as malty as I would have liked - it had a bit of a bitterness to it but this didn't stop me from finishing it. Maybe it was just the day we were there, but the atmosphere in this place was not very warm or friendly. The server seemed a bit off her game, and the place was spooky quiet. Maybe next time I'll give them a try in the evening - I suppose if it was full of people it would have given off a different vibe.

This is my fave local brewery. Good olive mix to go with great beer. Not over done. It's my go to especially if I'm rollin solo!

This is my fave local brewery. Good olive mix to go with great beer. Not over done. Just chill. It's my go to especially if I'm rollin solo. The beers are top notch. My go to is the Saison. I love the decor. The owners are Italian heritage, you can get some nice Italian snacks here. Growler fills, bottles for sale, order a flight or a pint

Take out Fungi, goat cheese, truffle oil pizza.

This place is a gem. I've had beers here a few times, but heard they were starting pizzas last summer when I bought their beer at the farmers market. I had a feeling they'd be good. And I was right! We went there in February for and beer & pizza and were not disappointed. So much so I ordered a couple pizza to go a month later and were equally impressed. Their Fungi, Goat cheese, truffle oil pizza is a must try. Goat cheese melts in your mouth. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great beer & kid friendly, how can you go wrong? My hubby is a brewer and discerning beer drinker- Luppolo is now on his top 5 list. Sour beer, fresh hops, IPA's, stout, cider, there is something for everyone here. We didn't eat but there's always next time!

Awesome sour selection! Casual setting and great crew giving great advice! Will be back on my next visit to this great sour beer City.

Worst "pretzel" appy ever had the displeasure of tasting #foodfail

Nice, small quaint brewery in East Van. Good service and nice beers. Small patio on the side for those nice sunny days in the city.

Decent beers. Not a huge selection. Pretzel appy seemed to have flavours of fennel which not everyone may like!

Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. One of the coolest things about Steamworks is the history behind the brewery. The brewery was originally inspired by Gastown's famous steam clock and historically used steam power in its brewing operations. Even today, steam remains part of the brewing process, helping heat the brewing kettles and connecting the brewery to the neighborhood's industrial heritage. Of course, the beer is the star of the show. Fresh, flavorful, and brewed on-site, it's hard to beat enjoying a pint in the heart of Gastown. If it's your first visit, I highly recommend getting the 10-beer flight. It's a fun way to sample a wide range of their brews and find a few favorites without committing to a full pint. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or just looking for a great meal with excellent service, Steamworks is well worth a visit.

The food and atmosphere here are excellent, but be cautious of the wait staff…read more My friend and I initially planned to order one beer each with our meal. Our server suggested that, because it was happy hour, a pitcher would be cheaper and save us money. I specifically asked how many ounces the pitcher was and was told 32 oz, which sounded reasonable since we planned to get 15 oz beers. When the pitcher arrived, it was clearly 64 oz. The server apologized for the mistake, and I let it go, thinking we didn't have to drink it all. However, when the bill arrived, the price didn't match the quote. We were charged $25, not the $20 we were originally told when the 64-oz pitcher showed up, with the explanation that the regular price was $35 and that we had "saved" money. In the end, we were served twice the beer we wanted and paid twice what we intended, based on information that kept changing. Whether this was incompetence or intentional, it left me feeling frustrated and uncomfortable. The food and atmosphere really were great -- but the experience was overshadowed by feeling manipulated. Enjoy the food and beer, but pay close attention to what the wait staff tells you and what ends up on the bill.
