    Watching World Cup action.

Besides a great line up of beers, the food,,, poke nachos,, killer, and the service was above average. It was World Cup time and hats off to the manager who stepped up and made sure folks had a cold beverage. Cheers Steamworks!

Food was fantastic, service was amazing, Great Beer, would definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the Vancouver Area

Seafood chowder and Caesar salad (with chicken added) combo

The seafood chowder hit the spot on a cold day and the focaccia was so good, I wish there was more of it! The chocolate porter had a lot of really yummy notes and packed a lot of chocolate flavor. I got the sleeve and enjoyed it until the very last drop. Service was friendly but it took a while for us to get his attention for the check (I thought restaurants LIKED getting their guests to pay the bill?). The place is HUGE and it was quite the journey to get to the restrooms from the main area upstairs. Getting to the restrooms was fun while sober but I can imagine it being extremely tiring/dangerous while drunk. Downstairs had a fireplace as well as a pool table, private rooms, and the ladies' room had at least TWO sets of those stalls for two which I thought was funny and cute. Definitely will have to bring my bestie here so we can both potty at the same time

Poke nachos, pretzel with smoked cheddar, beers!

We stopped by here before boarding our cruise as it's close to the cruise terminal. Walked in and was able to get seated quickly outside. We just wanted something quick so ordered the poke nachos and the pretzel. Was surprised when our waitress asked if we wanted a slice of smoked cheddar melted on top! We're used to a cheese dip but when it came out, it was surprisingly good! Poke nachos were on point too! We devoured the food and enjoyed our beers! Beers were tasty! Seating outside was nice, we were street side and it does have a cover so were able to people watch as they walk by. It's by the water but I didn't see seating on that side. We asked the waitress if we could take our beers and check out the rest of the restaurant as there's another bar type section towards the water side. There's also a bar downstairs that's pretty cool where the bathrooms are! Bathrooms were an adventure to walk to but big pretty and clean!!! Definitely check them out as it's in walking distance of other touristy type spots!!

    Yam fries. Mayo not great.

Went to Steamworks in Gastown tonight and came across, for the first time in my life, a stall with tandem toilets, divided by a short wall. I do not love ANY person enough, not even my children, to make eye contact while doing my business. Wild! Food was okay. Cousin said jambalaya was mostly sausage and shrimp. Yam fries were good but shouldn't have eaten the whole thing by myself.

A classic Gastown spot with a fantastic atmosphere. We stopped in for a casual dinner and was impressed by how pleasant and attentive the service was. Our server was delightful and very helpful with recommendations on how to spend the rest of time on our first trip to Vancouver. Food was standard, reliable pub fare cuisine. The poutine fries was a solid choice. Steamworks is in a historic building with great views of the harbor although we were seated in the bar area didn't get a chance to feast on those incredible views, the experience here was still genuinely nice. 3.7 stars

    Look at that crust!

Fun place! We fell in during the rain (of course). They just took it in stride, sat us quickly, and we got excellent quick service. Steamworks brews their own beer, you know we are stopping. Had a big party today (8). No problem. Appetizers were quick! Poutine, Yam fries, and alcohol, GREAT START! All the appetizers were excellent. The brewed Red Ale was quite different, but, tasty! A little over hoppy for me, but still quite pleasant. Wifey had the mojito. Not sure if she likes it, but it's almost gone before my ale! The choices here were right up our alley. I've shown you all of 'em. We had 8 people, but several chose the same thing. The pizza was "Wow! Damn, that's good!" Nice and crispy, a bit fluffy crust, cooked with perfect timing. To explain just how good the food was, a table of 8 was nearly silent for fifteen minutes! Service was so personable, and friendly. Verdict on the soup & salad from Wifey, soup, nice. Salad tasty, but the pieces were too big and the plate too small to cut! Taste? 100%. Plate? No, too small. If you happen along downtown Vancouver, stop in. It's great.

    A really good margarita

When they say "a really good margarita" they are not lying. I am shocked at how good this margarita is not just for a brewery but for any restaurant. Tastes so fresh and just how I like to make mine at home. Their art around the restaurant is super cute and their beer glasses are awesome. It is a huge space but they do a great job at breaking it up so every section feels cozy and has a different vibe. This is a great upscale atmosphere to watch a game at. We sat at the bar to watch a football game and the bartender was so friendly.

Karen and I had a wonderful time! The food was delicious. I'm a beer guy and enjoyed the local brew. Our waitress knew we were out of town and suggested we get the poutine. It was really good. Karen and I arrived early. Plenty of comfortable seating.

We found out that the owner won't serve bourbon because of the tariff. Bummer for me. The food was ok. The service was exceptional. Max loved his beer. The interior is beautiful and very cozy. It's just the place you would want to be on a snowy day.

Pretzel with melted cheese on top. The dipping sauce is jazzed up honey mustard. Very good

Had their IPAs. Both hazy and west coast styles are good. They are not memorable but very crushable. Perfect representations of the style. My wife got the red ale and it was a good beer. The server was fantastic and we got the biga$$ pretzel.

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

Features bar seating, booths, comfy chairs with fireplace, and an upper level with large table seating for big groups. Had many a great night here over many years as it provided a nice respite from all the crazy nightclub activity on Granville St. Sadly, they will be closing soon and will be dearly missed. The memories of the Morrissey Pub will live on in those who frequented it, and I will cherish mine.

This corner spot is neatly tucked away with a few outdoor seating spots, but the magic in itself is inside. The mix of vintage and old glam showcases the hybrid aesthetic. Perfectly described, The Ballyhoo definitely lives up to the over-the-top decor from their food offerings and styling. I managed to find myself arriving within happy hour and was super please I was able to bring my laptop out and get some work done without it causing anyone a fuss. The server I had was super friendly and she had all the tables she was handling in good spirit. After opting for a local draft beer and some bites, I kept over hearing how delicious the mozz sticks were. Now IDK how one levels up mozzarella sticks, but these truly were some of the best I've ever had. The dipping sauce was super spicy but bearable for anyone's heat preference and the breading and cheese inside had such a burst of flavor you wanted to simply inhale them. What had me in awe though was the cheese pull game. No need to fear about them being overdone not cooked enough, these babies were cooked to perfection with the cheese literally oozing out of each bite. I saw a few plates being served around and think this spot is definitely worth exploring.
