It is worth the short drive off the beaten path. The service was quite satisfactory. I ordered a CFS with 3 eggs over easy, German potatoes and a biscuit and gravy. The CFS was thin but very tender with a very mild flavor. Nothing too fancy or exciting but not disappointing. The biscuit was similarly mild and quite acceptable. Tender enough and fluffy enough to fill the role of a receptacle for the creamy and very lightly peppered gravy. If there is a stand-out item on this plate it is the German potatoes. Grilled crispy on the outside and soft inside these are a nice change from the usual hash browns or so often poorly done "home fries". I definitely recommend Hugo's if you want a classic diner breakfast in Claremore.

Tender and juicy chicken inside with a delectable crust. The kiddo got a tasty cheeseburger and hubs an omelette. We finished up with a little chocolate pie. Yum! The service was very friendly and helpful. Affordable prices. The diner was clean and filled with locals. I happen to love that. Food came out quickly. You could tell a lot of folks come here to grub on a regular basis. :)

The biscuits and white gravy were pure comfort--fluffy, buttery, and smothered in rich, peppery gravy that tasted homemade. Their pancakes were perfectly golden and light, with just the right touch of sweetness. And don't even get me started on the chocolate cake--moist, decadent, and clearly made with love. This is another establishment that has stopped serving Diet Pepsi and substituted Pepsi Zero. That's a big red flag for my wife as she dislikes any Zero product and loves her original diet soda. She ordered a blueberry pancake and a side of bacon. First off, the staff is extremely friendly and thoroughly look like they enjoy their job. I ordered the cowboy breakfast which entailed 2 biscuits covered in 2 sausage patties, hash browns, and country gravy. My wife did not like the pancake. She stated that the batter had a strange flavor and was rather dry. She also stated the blueberries were sour. My only complaint on my breakfast was the hash browns. I have only found a couple of places that cook hash browns correctly. Most establishments cook them like they do here. They don't rinse out the starch and just brown the edges and the insides are chewy and not thoroughly cooked. My biscuits were tasty and fluffy. The sausage was outstanding and flavorful. The gravy was plentiful and was wonderful. We probably won't be coming back due to the fact that the no longer serve Diet Pepsi. That one of the must haves for my wife. Again, the staff was great and they make you feel very welcome.

Food, 10/10…read morePeople, 11/10 Service, unbeatable I noticed that the diner formerly known as Tay's had a new name and a very active Facebook page, so my son and I dropped in on Friday for lunch to try them out. He went with the Steak Fingers and Fries and I opted for the CFS, mashed potatos and as they had ran out of green beans, went with a bowl of pinto beans. First, the place was packed... which is great. That means ownership and staff are firing on all cylinders. The cafe seat around 50 people, max, so it's a small place to start. But even with a full lunch crowd, it wasn't overly noisy. There's one big room, about 6 booths, 4 tables and a counter that seats about 6. Not a lot of ambience or pizazz, but what they DO have in abundance is great food and wonderful people. Food arrived very quickly considering the crowd. My son commented that his steak fingers were probably the best he's ever had, and that boy knows his way around some steak fingers. My CFS was also one of the best I've had, and certainly the best I've had in quite some time. Crust to meat ratio was almost 100% with no meat shrinkage. Flavorful crust without being overdone and fork tender meat that I did not need to use a knife on at all. Mashed potatoes were fresh and scratch made. And very importantly (to me) gravy was in abundance. Too many places treat gravy like it's a scarce commodity instead of the cheapest thing in the kitchen to make. Creamy, smooth and plenty of flavor, it was the perfect cover (pun intended) to the rest of the plate. The pinto beans could easily steal the show. What came out as a side competed for the main event. Perfectly cooked with just a bit of bite to the beans, there was an abundance of ham chunks and to my surprise, bacon added in. Never thought bacon, but that's a go-to for me from now on in my own kitchen. Had a chance to meet and shake hands with the owner who was having lunch there with his family, and he's a nice, down to earth local businessman who understands how to treat and keep a customer. I liked it so well that the next day, I met my daughter there for breakfast, and it do did NOT disappoint. She had the pancake breakfast with cakes, eggs and home fries, and loved every bit of it. I had the ham and cheese omelet, hash browns and biscuit and gravy. Hands down the best omelet I've had around the area, and the hash browns were outstanding. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The biscuit was fresh and lighter than air, and again.... gravy was in abundance. Great experiences overall, and will not hesitate to make the short trip back up the highway for more meals.

It is actual home cooked food. It was so good that I forgot to snap a picture until I was nearly done, so please excuse it being mostly eaten in the picture. I took a picture of the dining area, but there is also a classic bar seating area at the front that I didn't get a picture of. The hours are the only thing that could be improved in my opinion. I came into town around 8PM the night before and would have loved to just eat there since it is right beside all of the hotels and the airport, but they are only open 6AM to 3PM.
