The food selection felt like back when I was in elementary school but better since chicken and noodles was on the line when I visited. The line to get the food can get long during peak hours, but the dessert selection had plenty of pies to choose from. I noticed that there were some vintage dishes on the line such as jello salad and marshmallow salad which is rare these days.

You come, fill your plate and pay about 18 per adult... if you leave hungry it's on you. There is no menu. You just choose from selections that do not change much and all of it is included. The bbq pork is simple but good requiring no additional sauce. The fried chicken is tasty and simply made. There are chicken noodles that are as good as you have ever had. The mashed potatoes are buttery soft. The desert bar presents a Sophie's choice of deserts but you can take as many as you can eat. Leave the calorie counter at home it is not meant for this place. The ambience understated and plain as is fitting for the Amish. The staff is friendly. There are no waiters. You serve yourself. Good, simple and delicious food is on offer here, nothing else. Definitely worth the trip.

We showed up for brunch... yes it was Mothers Day so we weren't expecting top service as restaurants are slammed on such days... HOWEVER... we never received water even after asking for it several times We were served ice cold coffee twice and tepid coffee once We never received silverware... I had to go to the counter and ask Every table around us went through 2 rounds of guests before we received our food... but my order never did come and the other orders were insufficient in some way. Other servers were competent and able to serve their guests well... ours did not seem to care either way If we had what we needed or ordered or not. She didn't seem overwhelmed as much as she seemed absolutely indifferent to her customers... and I think she recognized how she had dropped the ball for a solid 90 minutes because ... By the time we were leaving, we asked for a to go container and after another long wait, our server never came back... someone else brought the container.... She lightly acknowledged the mess our brunch was and my meal ( that never came) was removed. I wish I would have asked for a reduced bill but I paid it and although the food we did receive was good, the experience and how it was not handled left me and my party of 6 deciding Hatch will not be visited again For $120, I did expect some sort of service or at least the offering of an apology.

What a gem!! Very…read moreeclectic, very old building! Very friendly staff! The best part is the FOOD!!! OMG!! The standout so far is the green goddess grilled cheese with tomato soup! WOW!!! The grilled cheese is perfect! Crispy on the outside, gooey cheeses inside. I'm usually a purist and just want a little mayo, maybe a pickle on the side. But the add avocado and pesto! Spectacular!! The soup is so thick and rich!! Dang, your spoon almost stands on its own! So delicious! Gotta be house made coz I've never had tomato soup this good outside of homemade!! It tastes like it's made like MY way! With roasted tomatoes and fresh herbs! Oh and they have a great outdoor patio area too! Plenty of parking around. Stellar experience! Can't wait to go back!

The beverage sales probably pay the bills. I would imagine patrons create a rather raucous atmosphere on a weekend evening, especially inside the small dining rooms. The historic old structure is currently undergoing some external rehabilitation. Full access to the lower level and dining in the yard is open. The location is picturesque. Right across the street from the City Park and Gazebo. On a beautiful fall day, dining in the restaurant's yard is a must. My wife and I both had the Park House Club. A good sandwich, but a stretch to call it a club in the traditional sense. Better described as a turkey, ham, bacon and cheese panini. It is their restaurant; they can call it what ever they want. A good little sandwich with seasoned fries. The service was adequate.
