This company is extremely shady... I would strongly advise you to avoid them unless you don't mind surprise services and costs. We've used Lush Lawn for a few years now for fertilization and weed control. It helped a little bit maybe, but not a noticeable difference. I've been trying to get my husband to cancel for years because it was a waste of money in my opinion, but instead, their team upsold my husband on additional services since we weren't really seeing the value in our existing applications. They applied something that was supposed to work for a full year as a one-time thing. We have used Lush for 2 years. I wanted to cancel after last year but my husband said let's give them one more year. This is our yard currently. NOT LUSH. We water every day to every other day plus have gotten tons of rain this July- there is no reason for the grass to be dead. All of our neighbors have green lawns, I think it's time to ask who they use. Our lawn is also covered in weeds, which they just laid treatment down for. We asked about the brown patches last year and they said "oh we have a solution, let's lay xxx treatment down for $30". It clearly never works and they still take your money. We will not be spending the hundreds of dollars a year anymore on this company. On days we see the sign or bag on the door saying they treated- I look and rarely do I actually see tire marks in the grass like they actually treated. Unacceptable. I wrote a review of them earlier in the summer stating we still had weeds and that I literally watched the guy enter the back yard, take the machine in about halfway, then turnaround and leave. So, no wonder I have weeds. When I contacted them about that they didn't call me back until I posted a review. And I still have weeds, so it wasn't corrected. Today, I filmed the guy because I happened to be home. He brought the machine around the edge partway, then proceeded to leave. I filmed him as he tried to push the machine on the deck. As he began to destroy the brickwork I came out. I said, "Are you going to finish?" He said, "I did." I told him that I watched him do one row and leave to which he turned his back on me, made the peace sign, and left. I said, "But you didn't do it." He left. They took my money upfront and have not delivered the product--on at least the two occasions that I witnessed when I happened to be home. I'm assuming it's the same every time given I have weeds. By definition this is fraud. I have video of the guy not doing this and I have pictures of all the weeds. read more

My lawn has never looked worse and I have never paid so much for lawn care. There are large dead patches. The fertilizer is applied unevenly and is in large clumps in some areas and barely visible in others. I have had to pull weeds by hand. I have been working with the staff, but the only real action is getting billed for more services. My lawn has deteriorated significantly under the treatments of Lush Lawn. They came out and put down the same poison worms I can buy in Tru Value. I told them I would pay for that service but wanted to cancel any future service. I paid it, then they came out 2 MORE TIMES and billed me! I called them and told them Im not paying for it because I cancelled it, even produced the email saying I cancelled it. I never did pay it. All you have to do is check out their BBB reviews. Dont look at the grade, read the actual reviews. This is their M.O. They've done this same scam all over Michigan. This company should be out of business with their shady tactics. I have used their service for several years. On August 1st I received a call from my sales representative, inquiring if I would like to proceed with aeration and seeding. I was quoted roughly $1400.00. I told them it's expensive and I don't think I'll be moving forward with this secondary service this year. To my dismay, they performed it anyway on 8/13/24 and billed my credit card $1242.00. Apparently, when they quote you for scheduled services they have in their own mind what is considered a "yard or lawn" and it does not include the plain language understanding that yard or lawn would also include the front sides and the backyard. They failed to repair an irrigation line they cut despite multiple promises to do so, over a period of more than a month. I finally had to take care of it myself so the garden didn't die. I had called the Brighton Office(8/22/18) and spoke with Shana, to have a account manager come and look at my yard to evaluate why I was still growing crab grass and weeds after 3 application of their weed and feed. I was told by Shana a customer service manager that a account manger would be out the following week(8/27/18-8/31/18). I waited all week to hear from someone, finally on 8/31 afternoon, I had to call. I talk to Jessica another customer service rep. I informed Jessica of my issue, and she could not explain why no one had been in contact with me. I asked to speak to a manager, and I was advise that Jessica's manger had stepped out for a minute. I asked Jessica to have the customer service manager Call me back when she came back. No call or email was returned. I than called back 9/4/18 to figure out what the reason was for 1) no one contacting me for a no show, and 2) why the customer service manager did not return my call. I had spoke with Jessica again, and asked her if she passed along the message to call me back. Her exact words were "I believe I did" I ask Jessica does she believes she did or did she? Jessica than responded with "I did". Customer service manager Shana got on the phone, and when I asked her why she did not return my call, she replied with "I never got a message to call back" So after again explaining my situation to Shana again, she simply state " I don't know why an account manager didn't didn't contact you" This company is clearly disorganized and needs to retrain their "managers" on customer service and teach there employees what honesty means, or get new employees that care about there jobs. I had to talk to the account manager myself and schedule a time myself for an account manager to come. The customer service and service all around at the Brighton location is beyond poor, and very unwilling to correct their wrong, but will easily pass the blame and be ok with their poor quality. read more

I have to say that I'm super disappointed with this company. We had switched over to them from another provider and it was the worse decision we've made. We've had weeds and we have had a fungus grow and spread across our yard which we have never had in the 5 years that we lived here. It seems convenient that we opted to not pay for the additional cost because it's expensive and then we got it. None of our neighbors had the fungus but none of them use Lush either. So we think they spread it onto the property from their machines. We also then had a fungus start on our trees which we again have never had and they wanted to charge use extra for all of this to remedy it. Which I get but it's soo $$$. Then we kept getting dead spots on the lawn which we couldn't figure out, after watching them come out to the property it's where they would stop their machine and let it idle on the lawn burning up the grass below. We paid a lot for the year and we are canceling. read more

Used them for one year. Lawn didn't look any better after using them. They try to sell me something after every basic application, e.g. "your lawn has X problem and needs X product". I wouldn't buy it and after the next application I would be told, "your lawn has Y problem and needs Y product" and I'd be wondering what happened to my X problem. Another thing I dislike is being told a price and after I decline, they offer me a better price. I hate negotiating for my car. I really hate negotiating for my lawn. Lastly, they "guaranteed" their mole control. Their mole control didn't do anything (but possibly attack more moles). The guarantee only extended to coming out and doing the same "control" that didn't work in the first place. I wasted over $2,000 on the company in 9 months. When I didn't return their calls this year, I got a message that they'd be out again to start the (ineffective) mole control since they hadn't heard from me. I then returned their call and told them emphatically they were not my service provider anymore. On the positive side, they were always courteous and showed up when promised. But I can't increase their "star" rating for doing only that. read more

I bought a new home in the summer of 2018. That July, I found a weekly lawn care company to mow the lawn. The owner of the business referred me to Lush Lawn for fertilizing treatments. I took his advice and contacted Lush Lawn without any further research, such as researching reviews, etc. At some point during the summer (July or August), Lush Lawn began a fertilizing program. Within a few weeks to a month, my weekly lawn care person approached me with concerns about a number of dried spots in the lawn. He was wondering if Lush Lawn was over-fertilizing and suggested I call them. I called Lush Lawn and after speaking with an employee, it seemed that perhaps grubs were the issue. I agreed to a grub removal service (quoted approx. $70) and after that a slit seeding service (quoted approx. $200) to repair the lawn after the grub issue was eradicated. Lush Lawn applied the grub treatment in late August or early Sept (approx.), I was billed and the service was paid for. A few weeks later, Lush Lawn came out to perform the slit seeding service. I was billed and before I could even remit payment, more dried and dead spots appeared on the lawn. I called Lush Lawn to let them know and they came out to redo the grub treatment. At that point, I was told that it was too late in the season for the slit seeding to be redone and it would have to wait until spring. I told them that I was not comfortable paying for a service that was not done satisfactorily and that I would rather pay for the slit seeding after it was redone. I was told that was not a problem and that they would see me in the spring. Throughout the entire winter, I received numerous collection phone calls and letters in the mail from Lush Lawn. I called Lush Lawn throughout that time asking why I was being contacted regarding the open invoice for slit seeding when I was told that I did not have to pay for it until it was successfully performed. I was told that they had no way to override their system and the letters were automatic but I had nothing to worry about. I was told that there were notes made to my account, yet the phone calls persisted. It was at that point that I started to wonder how the office could not get a handle on this issue. In early spring 2019, I noticed that the grub issue still persisted. Lush Lawn had treated my lawn twice for grubs late in the 2018 season, yet the grubs were still there making the lawn look horrible. Once again, I called Lush Lawn to re-hash everything. Each time I called, I had to go over the order of events and start from the beginning. This was starting to take up way too much time. I noticed my neighbors were receiving their first and second early spring weed treatments but I was not. It took a few phone calls and a number of weeks but finally, someone came out to perform a third grub treatment. A manager apologized to me and said she did not understand why the communication was so bad and that she would get the situation fixed. I told the manager that I did not want the slit seeding redone until we were absolutely sure the persistent grub issue was fixed because the last thing I wanted was to keep repeating this cycle. I should also mention while all of this is going on, I am still getting collection phone calls and letters. After the horrible grub issue and all of the terrible communication and the countless red flags, I finally went online to check out the Lush Lawn reviews. I was blown away to see how many horrible reviews the company has. I read one that described the exact same problem I have been having with the company. The next time I was in contact with Lush Lawn, I was told that because we were getting into late spring, I would have to wait for the slit seeding to be redone until the fall. The grub issue was not under control and I was starting to see dandelions pop up on the lawn. At that point, I was done. I canceled my service. I just recently received a phone call from someone saying that they cannot re-treat me for grubs due to the outstanding slit seeding invoice. It was quite clear that no one over there knew what was going on. No one has ever had a handle on the situation and it was very unlikely they ever would. read more

What a terrible company. I wish I could give zero stars. I came across them at the Novi home show. They also do mosquito spraying so that had my interest. They said they could give me a quote right there and then if I signed off okaying that they do an overhead of my house from online. So my fault, I didn't read the whole thing. But he did give me a quote. However in the spring I decided to go with my usual company again. But lush lawn proceeded to harass me to no end. They said I had signed a contract for a whole season of spraying. It was so bad I was getting a call every other day from a very nasty woman at their office. I had to finally write a letter formalizing my complaints and tellinthem to never contact me again. I thought for sure I was going to have to sue them. Lesson learned, i'll never signed anything again without reading the entire page. These tactics are just in same. I don't know how they get away with it. I want to confirm a few facts from the previous reviews. 1) They are calling trying to sell me services on a regular basis. I have declined all but one service. It is a bit annoying, but I also realize they are trying to maintain and grow a business. The real question is...do I need that service. I am beginning to wonder as there always seems to be a problem they are trying to fix. 2) They are on time and provide generally good service. 3) I have not used them for bugs as I have a service that does that. 4) I was called by an outside survey company about LL service. Seems like they are trying to get feedback. 5) My yard looks better than my neighbors, but I cannot say if LL has helped with that as I have used other services and nothing seems to change. After FIVE attempts without the grass growing back, and having paid them 3 times, I finally said, "Guys, let's just say you tried and move on. Their service has been a complete joke. Weeds are far worse worse than a couple of years I've gone with out service. When I complained to the tech after the first application, he said that he had not been trained on the weed control part so we didn't get it. We have had no better results since. When calling to complain twice, I have gotten conflicting explanations. I have areas of grass being choked out by crabgrass and weeds. I have found no dead crabgrass and only about 2% of the weeds dead a few days after applications. The rushed on four of the five applications by mid July. To start I am not even a customer of theirs. However, they started fertilizing my yard this year. When I asked the tech was he was doing, he was rude and unprofessional. I called their office and explained to them what was happening and that I already pay another company to treat my yard. Their over-fertilizing was going to kill my yard. I was told that the manager, Blake was going to call me back. Weeks later I still haven't heard from him and my yard is dying in spots. Horrible company that clearly lacks good customer service. I reminded them that I already pay another company for yard treatments an that my provider is addressing Lush Lawns over treatment of my yard, which I never asked for. I suggested that they cut my provider a check to cover my cost to fix the issue that they caused. They refused which shows that they don't own up to their mistakes. Why would I have two companies treat my yard?! Their logic doesn't make any sense! I can't say, "don't make the same mistake as I did", since I never asked them to treat my yard. I would rather live in a mosquito infested hell (which I'm doing because their spray didn't work) than deal with this company. We gave them our info after being told they would come spray once we called to confirm we were seeing crickets again this year. They came out and sprayed without our call. When I called, I was told they don't treat crickets. Person on the phone called back that they do treat crickets. I cancelled my service a few weeks later. After I cancelled, they sprayed again. When I called to complain, I sat on hold for three minutes only to be told my rep was unavailable (same thing happens everytime I call). Left message, no call back. I called again, was told a credit had been requested but that they couldn't send a letter to confirm, but would send an email. Next day, no email. I called back and now requested a refund fpr the first treatment as well as compensation for my wasted time, and because I paid that one as a courtesy. After explaing the whole situation, it was confirmed that they don't treat crickets. They agreed to refund both treatments. Two days later I received a call that they had "accidentally" charged my card twice, but it would be refunded that day. Three days later---no refund. Called today, left message. 9-18-18 all season I've been complaining about how bad my lawn looks. A manager was suppose to come out and never did. Eventually one of there technicians said it was moles and grubs so $500.00 later my lawn is the ugliest lawn in the sub and full of weeds I have talked to the last four technicians and complained they even sent a guy with a pump spray bottle with grass and weed killer to "spot treat" now I have 30 dead spots in my yard. I now have hundreds of dandelions in my 1500 sq ft yard that I pay $700. A year to fertilize. So I call the Brighton office and talk to sheena she was happy to tell me it's my fault the weeds are there because I didn't call and tell them. Apparently there technicians don't know what weeds are. She told me I have lawn spiders that's why the lawn looks bad NO it's a terrible looking lawn with a ton of weeds and it's all my fault.So I asked for my money back oh no way they preformed a service what I don't know. I don't think that they put anything on my lawn for fertilizer all year. They told me I needed a soil sample taken $150. For that 4 months ago I have seen no results from that so I asked for that money back also she is sending the results tomorrow. I wish you could select zero for the star rating. PLEASE stay away from this company. I started working with them in the Spring to reinvigorate my lawn, and the customer service was absolutely atrocious. Communication was non-existent. When I would request a call back before they came out, they wouldn't call. When I called the main line, almost every time, there would be no one to answer the phone. Also, I tried to pay for my services all at once, and on two occasions, I had to remind their accounting department to take my money. I've never heard of that before. Not to mention, I saw no results throughout the five months I had their service. A soil test was part of my plan, however, they started fertilizing my lawn before knowing the acidity of my lawn. Since my lawn was too toxic, the fertilizer had no affect. A professional company would know that fertilizing a lawn while the pH level is too low would not be advisable. They even used Google Earth to diagnose my lawn instead of coming out to my property. I don't think diagnosing a lawn from outer space is the best method. When I tried to express my concerns and issues with a manager, he proceeded to argue with me the entire time. All in all, it was the worst experience I've ever had with a company. read more
