Since he drives for a living, this situation also impacted his ability to work and put a burden on our income. We paid for a service that we feel was not provided. We are extremely disappointed and feel that we were taken advantage of. I would NOT recommend using this company. Do your research and consider other options. The area to pick up was in an alley. Suddenly, a few police cars entered the alley to arrest a person. One police officer opened his door and damaged my oldest son's new car. My son waited there until the police were finished, and then the police officer asked what he was doing there. And my son replied he needed to file an accident report. The officer asked for my son's driver's license and information, and shortly returned with a stack of traffic citations. My son had the whole thing on the dash camera. TTO won the case, no points or court fees. Most recently, my oldest son received two traffic citations over two days in a row. He accidentally called another lawyer. In that case, he was issued nearly 500 dollars in court fees. Then he received a letter indicating if payment was not received within a few weeks, he would get a suspended driver's license, his registration and auto tag would be null and void too. I found out the lawyer was from another totally different firm, not TTO. My son was not properly informed about this by the lawyer he hired. He had no idea he had to pay court costs. I called the Traffic Ticket Office and they helped us take care of the situation within two hours...ON A FRIDAY afternoon! We have used the Traffic Ticket Office for over 30 years. The person who answered was great, however the attorney who emailed back was extremely short. "Hi, the case appears closed. You need to contact the court directly." When asking which court to contact; considering this is two states and two courts, explaining they have contacted the courts directly, and the DMV all giving different information, there was no response back. I did email with questions twice after the initial response with no communication back. It would have come off better for the attorney to state point blank he could not help, didn't want to help etc. I even asked if this is something he didn't take care of (even though there is a whole tab for license suspension on the website) If he could refer me to someone who could help. No response. In looking for law advice many prefer someone to the point. I ended up calling another firm local to me, this attorney with 20+ years experience told me point blank "this is going to be an absolute headache and it's already a mess, not a case I would like to take due to the headaches to come, but this person needs legal help, that is my job, and what I am good at" 2000.00$ retainer later and within just a few weeks, the case is almost wrapped up and license will be reinstated. After reading all the prior reviews I was really hoping this firm could help. As stated in the emails, Florida suspended his license years after a ticket in another state that has been satisfied. Do you enjoy waking up each morning wondering if you might owe an estate a surprise $5K (THAT YOU DON'T HAVE BECAUSE YOU ARE FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY)? Do you enjoy casual emails and voicemails indicating that you owe thousands of dollars that you do not have completely out of left field? Oh, but it does not end there my friends. Once you finally grind this painstaking process all the way out to your discharge, your lawyer will drop an absolute bomb on you, months later, indicating that you still owe funds to the estate. No indication of what it's for, no dollar amount. As I write this, I allegedly owe the estate somewhere between $1 and $1 billion that I do not have, MONTHS AFTER MY DISCHARGE, for reasons unknown. Thanks Natalie! And right on cue, absolute crickets from this joke, scam artist company, as I sit here having a full on mental breakdown due to my decision to go with Van Horn Law Group. If you do make the terrible decision to use Van Horn Law Group, just know - when your discharge letter comes in the mail. When you sigh that glorious sigh of relief. When the nightmare is finally over. Just know, the nightmare does not end. Apparently, the nightmare, the nonsense, the disorganization, the surprises, the blow after blow after blow to you financially as you stumble over yourself trying desperately to get back on your feet. As you take 1 step forward and five steps back. This nightmare will haunt you for all of eternity. This is not a knee-jerk review. I have been EXTREMELY patient with VHLG, as I write this 8 months after starting this process with them. I am the most proactive, get it done person, and uploaded all 150+ documents that were requested immediately, and in a highly organized manner. They will lose documents that you upload to their own portal, and fail to submit them for your 341 meeting, and then have the audacity to ask you to re-send them, as they sit right in their own portal, as requested by THEM (I even sent screen-shots of them, right where they should be). I was very fortunate the the document they failed to submit to the court was only a 2-year old tax return, and the court allowed this to submit it without delay. If this was something more substantial, it could have delayed my process months, and potentially ruined my life as I was only days away from moving out of state. I got very lucky following Van Horn Law Group's disorganization and complete lack of care. Will you be so lucky? The office will tell you absolutely anything to get you off the phone. "She's in a meeting, but she will call you in an hour." An hour and a half goes by, and I call again. "She's currently reviewing your case, and will call you in a few minutes." This will go on and on all day, until finally "Well, it's past 5:00 now, so she will call you tomorrow." WAS IT AFTER 5 WHEN I CALLED AT NOON, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4:30???? And this is not a single occurrence. In fact, I have not ONCE been called back during the window I was told in my 8 months of dealing with this firm. We are talking about a 40 - 50 time sample size. Paralegals will casually delay extremely important milestones by a MONTH at a time VIA TEXT MESSAGE, because the person working on your case decided to go on vacation. Nothing is anyone's responsibility there. If VHLG makes an error and needs you to re-send something, you'll get the workaround, and told "I don't handle that, you need to send it to X" a dozen times. You'll be told conflicting and opposite information from any two people you talk to. I could honestly write a book, but if you're still reading, I think you get the idea. My decision was based on the positive reviews. I swear to god these are all bots. PLEASE READ THE 1 STAR REVIEWS BEFORE CHOOSING THESE CLOWNS, because my experience is a carbon copy of every 1 star review I am now reading. I just gave the office my ticket number and they were able to look up all of the rest of the information. I then gave them my credit card over the phone and my attorney was hired. This week I got the results of my hearing. The matter was dismissed in its entirety, I was not liable for any additional fines, costs, and points were not assessed against my driving record. The nice aspect of this office, as compared to larger traffic ticket attorney offices or chains, is that you always know the attorney that will help you.
