Took $10,000 from me and didn't even make it to trial before they dropped me and conveniently sent me a bill for $200 for the service of emailing me to tell me they were not representing me anymore and now they are threatening to send me to collections over it. I was told my initial retainer would be enough as long as we didn't go to trial and then they burned through that incredibly fast and 1000 at a time kept saying this would be the last bit if we didn't get to trial and then demanded an $11,000 retainer to go to trial! Worked with Kelsey and biggest regret of my life as my son and I continue to suffer to this day, due to her failure at representing my family. After racking up the bill to $15,000 she stated, "you should try asking for more money from friends and family." Due to the financial abuse I suffered for 4 years, I shared my predicament and Kelsey along with admin at Lutz & Associates assured me that in the worst case scenario - monthly payment plan based on your income level is available. After providing all of the text messages, photos, letters - Kelsey proceeded to rack up the bill to "clean" up pages after pages of evidence. In the end, her team states that payment plan DOES NOT exist and proceeded to use a new hire as an excuse to state "payment plan doesn't exist." After abandoning my case, instilling the fear that "you might lose this case" as I had no one to provide character statements because...abuse isolates you - Kelsey and this firm only reached out to hound me for money and refused to do anything by email - unless it was to remind or threaten me that I need to make a payment. Stay away from this firm, save your money and your life by avoiding this place like the plague. read more

I retained lutz and associates after leaving another sub par firm. I originally spoke with Mr Lutz himself and he handles my case for about a month before handing it off to an associate attorney. My case involved establishing parentage and temp orders for a custody case. The other party was pro se for months and I was somehow getting railroaded in court while being represented. It took 6 months to get a temp order and cost over 25k. Lots and lots and lots of smaller trust deposits. I was originally quoted 7-9k to gain temp orders. It was triple that. After a disappointing hand down of temp orders from the court, my attorney suggested we do a revision hearing and quoted 4k with travel expenses included. My attorney blew threw 4k+ preparing for revision, failed to confirm the hearing, the hearing got pushed out. Once the hearing got pushed out, my attorney requested another 5k to finish the hearing and submitted an intent to withdraw with the court. My attorney withdrew 4 days before the revision hearing, after 6 months and tens of thousands of dollars. Throughout the entire case, Lutz and associates failed to confirm hearings 3 separate times, including for their own revision hearing!!! They also gave me the wrong time for a court hearing, one in which I flew into WA for from CA. I arrived to the hearing and got told it was in the morning! Bouncing between paralegals, an entitled staff of nincompoops, not submitting evidence I was providing, agreeing to a child support plan in a private zoom meeting with opponent's attorney and not consulting me, he didn't even make sure the court adopted the correct financial statements. Yes, because of this firm, I pay child support based on an income I have never even made! Terrible diligence. One thing I've learned is that Firms absolutely suck. Too many moving parts, too many people in and out, and not a lot of accountability. Lutz is very "make money" driven, not family driven or morally driven or even ethically driven. If you sign with them just be aware that the initial trust deposit will be at least doubled if not tripled and they will do it in a very subtle, spread out way, so you don't realize how much you're actually spending. 5k here, 2500 here, 3500 there, another 4k should do it, we need another 6k. Yeah, it's never ending here. My opponents attorney is far better and I could not regret my time with Lutz and associates more. Just fing run from this place. They only exist to drain you and your valuable resources and misrepresent you. Just know this, RCW 4.04.010 is a powerful code, AND NOT ONE TIME did this law firm utilize it to help me. i didn't learn about the code until after the business relationship ended. Washington is an incredibly corrupt state and the Bar enjoys the fruits of it. No Attorney can stand for your rights, only you can. read more

Worked with Kelsey Morfitt for the past year in a child custody/support case. Do not recommend Kelsey unless you want a passive lawyer who will work more to please the opposing party than you the client. After a year she still didn't understand our finances, alluded to the fact she thought my husband was being dishonest about our finances & told us to "let bygones be bygones & settle & pay almost double than what we ended up settling for. She wasn't qualified for mediation so she brought in another attorney Jeff who was amazing. We asked for Jeff to represent us going forward after our mediation - kelsey agreed but continued to work our case & of course bill us. Do not hire Ms. Morfitt. Jeff however was fantastic & had he been our lawyer from the beginning we feel our case would've ended much differently. read more

Christina Adams is a paralegal who agreed to help me draft paperwork for an emergency divorce almost a year ago when she worked for Envision Law in Tacoma. She took $800 from me and did not send ANY paperwork. She knew I was I'm a domestic violence situation and sold all my assets to collect the money for her. I tried to meet her and call her several times to get the work done. I have record of the signed papers and texts, Venmo payments, emails. I have records showing she did not reply to me and refused to refund OR send what paperwork she did. I wouldn't go anywhere that has Christina Adams on the payroll. read more

I was in seek of legal representation for a dissolution of relationship. I gave him a 5,000 retainer which he assured me would cover the costs for a "intimate relationship " After giving him a 6700.00 retaininer fee to go to trial after being assured it would never go that far being that we were not married. He without ever asking me or giving me any kind of notice passed my case to Jeff Rank. After taking my retainer fee, never was I asked if I wanted to be represented by a different attorney or notified I was being represented by a different attorney and was given very poor representation that costs me thousands of dollars on a case that should not have. I do not recommend this firm. Ultimately by the time this was said and done after being passed off to Jeff Rank and being poorly represented it cost me over 30,000 and was punished by the court for poor representation. I will also be filing a complaint to the Bar association and the Attorney General. read more

Getting a divorce? Call these people first! I had such a good experience with them from the free initial consultation to the divorce being finalized and getting back the balance of my trust account. Roger Schweinler and his paralegals were very considerate of my limited funds and did not suggest frivolous things to run up my bill like the attorney I had before did. Communication was almost exclusively through his very competent paralegals which kept attorney fees low, and he did his job so I didn't have to worry. I ran out of money with my first attorney, so I thought I would finish out the divorce on my own. That was until my ex filed a motion to modify temporary child and spousal support orders. I was able to gather enough money to hire Roger Schweinler who went to that hearing and won it for me so everything stayed the same and my ex had to pay attorney fees for that hearing! As time went on, my ex came around and we were able to come to an agreement on final orders without having it go to trial or even mediation! Roger Schweinler and Kyra Warner finished up all the paperwork and it was done! Thank you guys so much! read more

I was going through a divorce where we had originally agreed to everything and to split child custody 50/50 etc. She later wanted for me to only have every other weekend. Run! This law firm is only after your money and they will lie their life away as they continue taking yours. To start from the beginning, I was promised the moon and the stars during my consultation with Andrew Voelker. I was told that what I was trying to ask for in regards to my kids was so easy and there wouldn't be any issues getting it. Mind you, this all started in August. A lot of time was spent transferring the case from another state as neither party resides there. However, the amount of time started getting excessive. During this waiting period a lot transpired, which I felt held up my case... A new paralegal started who had zero experience, yet I continued being charged full price for the work he was doing. Meanwhile my wife and I took it upon ourselves to bullet point and virtually write responses to the opposing party and forwarded it to him, he edited and sent it. Seems pretty backwards to me, it should have all been taken care of by the firm as that's what I was paying them to do. I'm confident that if we hadn't done that, I would still would be in a waiting period for them to get their shit together. (I will say the previous paralegal, Amy, was a god send and I was very disappointed seeing her leave the firm. She was the only positive out of this entire experience). During all of this I was being nickel and dimed, and when I asked what was going on I was told to reach out to the owner of the firm. When I did reach out to David Lutz and asked questions I was met with, "well if you don't like it you can go elsewhere". Seems to me that's their famous saying as I was told that more than one time, all for asking questions about why I was being charged paralegal fees and attorney fees for doing the exact same thing. Fast forward to January and I FINALLY had my case go in front of a commissioner to get absolutely nothing. Again tried one last resort and petitioned to go in front of a judge to AGAIN get nothing besides having the same visitation with my kids and being $13,000 in the hole. This is just a small glimpse into the things that have transpired since August. Regardless, to say I'm discouraged is a total understatement after being promised it was an easy case and that I would get more time with my children. I feel robbed and completely taken advantage of. I wanted to update my review for Mr. Lutz as I didn't include his Paralegal. Jill Conner as an aboslute superior performer. Her attention to detail, knowledge, and experience was unsurpassed. She really poised David Lutz for success. Here's my original review with updates. Mr. Lutz was amazing and he packs premium performance in a budget price.I had a fraudulent DVPO filed against me. My wife's claims were untrue. She was attempting to use this as the common "silver bullet" technique used to get the upper hand in a divorce. Mr. Lutz helped explain what I needed to do in order to prove my innocence. I provided my evidence to him and his amazing paralegal. He helped me feel confident by explaining the process and what was to come. He went to court with me and calmly incapacitated the opposing counsel. He calmly told the commissioner my wife's claims didn't at all meet the definition of domestic violence. I probably didn't even need an attorney. My ex wife's attorney Bryan Murry was a bumbling, ever-failing attorney. He was often scrambling for reference documents, and seemed perpetually unorganized. To me, his performance indicated he obtained his education at a low-tier community college. I really hope he can get a new job and get trained by the best so he can succeed, as he was unscrupulous and unethically proceeded to talk bad about me after the commissioner had dismissed his case and publicly asked why he had brought this to the court. I fear until he gets help from a mentor, he will let down and disappoint any client he takes on. He will willingly take money even though the case is not winnable, so I guess that's a good thing. Using Mr. Lutz and Ms. Morfitt against him was like using a tactical nuclear weapon against Popsicle stand. The judge dismissed the case after agreeing with my explanations in my documents and concurring with Mr. Lutz. He's still helping my divorce case and I'm hoping for another victory while keeping cost to a minimum. Mr. Lutz has been great to work with so far. He knows how what he's doing and does his best to keep costs as low as possible. I was looking for an attorney so that I could get a conservatorship for my son who is in a coma and fighting for his life. I contacted this firm because I did a search and their name was number 1 on the list. I filled out their form online stating what I needed and I also chatted with two different people. Days past, I recontacted them, chatted told them what I needed, and today 6 days after contacting them, they tell me they don't even do conservatorships. I have wasted all that time, which I didn't have to just waste. Their response when I said, why are you listed for conservatorships, she says, yeah, we pay for a lot of advertising. Total jerks. I hired David Lutz in January 2013 to handle the paperwork and court proceedings for my divorce. At the time, my divorce situation was amicable, as my ex-husband and I had already come to agreements on everything from the parenting plan, division of debts, and division of property, etc. We wrote everything up ourselves and I handed it over to Mr. Lutz and his staff to handle the rest. They did a great job getting my paperwork ready for signature and it was a relatively quick turn-around. Costs were low and I was happy with their service. However, when it came time for my ex and me to sign the paperwork, he decided he wanted to have another attorney look over the paperwork to make sure he was protected. Fine, not a problem. That's when things took a turn. He delayed the signing for several months and made up excuses why he needed more time to have them reviewed. Suddenly, in March 2014 he hired an attorney himself and decided he wanted to fight me for everything. What I thought was going to be an amicable divorce with a quick resolution turned very ugly and I became a panic stricken mess. Mr. Lutz and his assistant Minta were there for me every step of the way. Although I felt like there would be no end to the fight, I was assured by Mr. Lutz that he would aggressively represent me in court. And that he did. He was knowledgeable, professional, and was on top of his game. Unfortunately the judge did not rule in my favor at that hearing. There were a number of reasons why Mr. Lutz and I believed the ruling to be wrong so he suggested requesting a reconsideration hearing; which I did. Mr. Lutz quickly got back on the case and requested a reconsideration and backed up our reasons for it to be reconsidered with every WAC and RCW we could use to prove my stand. The judge agreed and decided she would hear the case in another court hearing. This is when things shifted again. Two days before the hearing, I received a settlement offer from my ex, through his attorney. Mr. Lutz helped me to reach an agreement with a CR2a so that our agreement would be bound by contract before cancelling my hearing and our settlement conference. While my case is still in the process of drafting final docs, thanks to Mr. Lutz and Minta, I am able to finally say the worst is over and I survived the most extreme emotional roller-coaster ride ever. My ex can't change his mind on the agreement and my mind is finally at ease. Mr. Lutz and his staff have been a fantastic group to work with. They kept me informed, answered probably on the upscale of a million questions, sometimes over and over again, and have been there day, night, and weekend for me. Yes, I said night and weekend. This is how dedicated this group is and I wouldn't be where I am today without them. read more
