Pets & People Humane Society - Ella brought so much joy into our home!

    Pets & People Humane Society

We have also fostered for Pets & People Humane Society, and have supported them over the years in a myriad of ways. We have found all the folks here to be conscientious, honest, and extremely dedicated, and cannot imagine why anyone would write a bad review about such good people doing God's work. (I'm not a religious man, no -- if anything, I'm the ANTITHESIS of religious. But if ever there were a god and He or She had work to do, well, the folks at Pets & People are doing it.) Apparently, many of the reviewers here (i.e., the ones writing nasty reviews) don't understand why Pets and People has such strict guidelines about adopting its companion animals. Pets and People is one of the very best humane societies/no-kill shelters in the entire state. Period. Hands down. It's pretty damn bad when some folks have nothing better to do than criticize a humane society/charity that's run entirely by volunteer staff -- and on precious little money, to boot. Again, we adopted the most wonderful dog in the world from Pets & People, and our experience -- seriously -- was nothing short of perfect. The stringent standards for adopting a companion animal out to the ideal home? Those standards are CRUCIAL, and are in place for damn good reasons. The folks who volunteer here deserve medals of honor, not crass and ignorant criticism from pig ignorant Okies who just can't wrap their pointed little heads around the concepts of responsibility and stringency. Furthermore, the facility is as clean as it can be given the paucity of volunteers and the abominable lack of tax funds and private donations in this overwhelmingly Rethuglican state. I agree that the facility could be and should be improved, but the hard working folks at P & P are doing the best they can given how starved the shelter is of both public and private funds. YOU WANT TO HELP OUT? Great. Write checks. Volunteer. Vote for progressive candidates who won't shut down funding for such laudable charities. Otherwise, please get out of the way, shut the hell up, and let these good people continue do the great work they do. Hell, one reviewer wrote about "customer service" here. (Honey you're not a customer. Period. And the folks here aren't paid. Geez already.) Two HUGE thumbs up for this Yukon-based charity!

I think it best if you were to notify people of this fact as I have driven all the way across town to Tanner a tour to find my new pal. Now I've burned a lot of gas and I still don't have a dog. Very depressing, to say the least. Respectfully, Adrianne Davidson

I highly recommend Goldendoodle Dandies!! I began my search for a puppy two summers ago. After…read moreextensive research of various breeders and a phone call with Jana of Goldendoodle Dandies, I decided to put a deposit down on one of Goldendoodle Dandies' F1 standard English Cream Teddybear Goldendoodle boys in August 2022. The way deposits work is that there is an understanding that you will take a puppy from the upcoming litter you have your deposit on. Deciding not to take a puppy from the litter you have your deposit on can cost you your deposit. In my case, life happened and I needed to delay getting a puppy because I was planning to move homes. Jana was kind enough to work with me and let my deposit money roll over to be applied to her next F1 Standard litter - we were first pick on the list for a BOY. My pup, Arlo, is from a Lilliana and Cesar litter. We did have to be very patient because the vet recommended Lilliana take a break for a heat cycle, so we anxiously awaited our Christmas puppy! Just as humans can have complications in delivery, so can any animal. When Lilliana went into labor, it was in the middle of the night. She pushed out sweet Arlo, but the siblings of the litter did not make it despite Jana rushing Lilliana to the Vet. My family and I feel so blessed to be able to have one of Lilliana and Cesar's last puppies and I feel sorry for the families that were looking forward to a puppy that never came. These types of situations are sad for all involved. I can say with certainty that Jana is a hobby breeder that loves her pets and gets joy from seeing the puppies she responsibly breeds in the homes of loving families! I traveled from Virginia to Oklahoma to pick up Arlo from Goldendoodle Dandies at the end of February 2024. He is now 18 weeks and SUCH an amazing dog! He is beautiful and softer than any other doodle I've touched and he barely sheds at all. He is such a social and friendly puppy with people and other dogs. Truly, his temperament is second to none. I've been told by a local friend who has therapy dogs that she thinks Arlo would also make an AMAZING therapy dog - a route I plan to pursue. EVERY DAY nearly everyone who sees Arlo tells me HOW CUTE, pretty, beautiful he is! I am so glad I looked into things carefully when I selected Goldendoodle Dandies as my breeder because Jana was spot on when she said her pups are the "cream of the crop". Thank you Jana and Goldendoodle Dandies for the AMAZING new addition to our family, Arlo Fortuitous Chavez, who we love so much!!!

1 Star - Very Difficult Experience…read more My family entered into an agreement with Goldendoodle Dandies to purchase a puppy as a family pet. We paid a $500 deposit and entered into the transaction in good faith. After the agreement was signed, the breeder decided to keep the puppy for her breeding program. She initially told us in writing that she would refund our deposit. We accepted her decision to keep the puppy and simply expected the promised refund. The situation became much more complicated after we declined a separate breeding arrangement that was proposed after our original agreement. We did not agree to that arrangement because it required a long-term commitment that did not fit our family. The signed purchase agreement did not contain a requirement that we participate in such an arrangement. After declining the breeding proposal, the breeder refused to return our deposit and made allegations about our motives and an alleged connection to another individual that we completely denied. We made multiple attempts to resolve the matter directly before ultimately filing a Small Claims action. The matter was eventually resolved, and we received our $500 deposit back along with the $110 in court filing and service costs we incurred. I am glad the financial dispute is now resolved. However, the experience was unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming, and based on our experience, I would not recommend this breeder to others. I am sharing this review simply so prospective customers can understand our firsthand experience and make their own informed decision.
