New bar addition - cabinets, counters, tile, appliances

The team at Lux Builders is top-notch. Everything you'd expect and hope for in a full service building/remodeling company. Handling everything from initial design consultation, architectural drawings, permitting, product/finish selections, all the way to the finished product, the team at Lux was always helpful and accessible. I would, without hesitation, recommend Lux to anyone looking to build and/or remodel their property. Very pleased!

We were very pleased with the two bathrooms Lux Builders remodeled for us. Sagi and his team helped us so much with the customized design - even going with us to pick out tiles and fixtures. We also appreciated that they were always reachable when we needed something. His workers were on time and respectful. Anytime there was an issue, they developed workable solutions. It was also very comforting that they provided clear transparency on all aspects of the project from design to city permitting to materials to costs. We would definitely recommend using the professionals at Lux Builders for any home project.

We worked on an extensive home remodel with Lux earlier this year. We renovated bathrooms, created a mudroom, and redid the backyard of the house. The support we received from Lux throughout the project was top notch. Not only was the quality of work very high, but the communication and professionalism was thorough, timely, and supportive. Sagi went out of his way to help us through the design phases, attending showroom visits and providing thoughtful suggestions to improve upon our initial ideas, thus negating the need to have a designer brought on as part of the project. We also made the difficult decision to live in the home throughout the months-long project and they did everything they could to support us in that process, ensuring the house remained clean and as livable as possible. We would definitely work with Lux again on the next project.

We did a gut remodel of our entire downstairs, the staircase and the upstairs landing with Lux. Sagi and his team were a pleasure to work with and made the process painless. Sagi is very communicative, patient and professional - he would talk through all issues with us and helped make crucial decisions. We had a designer and Sagi worked well with her (it was often the three of us collaborating and trading ideas). Sagi even joined us at showrooms to help pick certain fixtures, tiles, slabs etc. The subs (cabinetry, flooring, plumbing, wallpaper, audio etc.) were professional and did fantastic and very high quality work. Some may be more expensive than what is market but it was worth it to have peace of mind that we were getting quality work and Sagi would stand behind the work. We decided to live at the house during construction an Sagi did his best to make it tolerable and his guys kept the house neat as possible during the construction. Overall we are thrilled with the transformation of hour house and can't wait to remodel our backyard with Lux.

My wife and I just bought a home in Hermosa Beach, built in the '00's so it was in need of a update to make it our dream home. We had envisioned a white, beachy, airy home, and Sagi and his team made it come to life! We interviewed 5 contractors before starting our job, and it just felt right with Sagi. As we were deciding on which contractor to use, we could tell that Lux's work was going to meet our standards of being as perfect as we had wanted. When we let Sagi know that we were moving forward with him, he followed the timeline as expected. Throughout the demo/install, we were the ones that were falling behind on the decision making, and they were waiting on us to make final decisions on certain aspects of the project. We completely tore up our kitchen, living room, dining room, master bedroom. Along with replacing the floors throughout the house. We felt like we had some pretty crazy change orders, and we had always talked it out with Sagi and his team to get it the way we wanted. We felt comfortable with everyone on Sagi's team, and the one word that stands out, is PRIDE. Every minor detail was considered, and if we wanted to change it, we could. Our house is now almost 3 months since completion, and we couldn't be happier with it. Thank you Sagi and the Lux team!!

Lux Builders recently finished remodeling a bathroom in our house. The process was very impressive. Sagi was kind and professional and he and his team were organized, and very thorough. They answered every question and concern along the way promptly and always offered great solutions. All the subcontractors in very trade, were punctual, experienced, and professional. They cleaned after each day's work was done throughly. They were pleasant and polite. The bathroom is done with the exception of the mirror install as the mirror we liked is on back order until March. Everything looks absolutely beautiful and we couldn't have been happier and more satisfied with the contractor and the company we decided to go with. We highly recommend Sagi and his team and will be using Lux Builders to remodel our master bath and kitchen next.

    Ladera Before - Facing Backyard

Sagi, Melvin, and their crew turned our outdated kitchen and living room in Ladera, into our DREAM home!!! We unfortunately share the same stories with others; paying an architect for work they never completed, experiencing major delays with a contractor and their crew, and/or disorganized bookkeeping and misquoting of fees. I found Lux Builders on Houzz and the pictures of their projects resembled the look we wanted to achieve with our own home. We met with Sagi a few times and he provided us with a detailed list of work, costs associated, and costs that would need to be covered outside of the project. We started the demo on December 11th, 2017 and it was such a great experience! *SCOPE OF WORK* -Approximately 1,000+ square feet for kitchen and living room and approximately 2,000 square feet of flooring. (Marble to wood flooring) -Demo, framing, and open up living room and kitchen -Turn pantry into half bath -Update front entrance and replace front door -Update lighting, HVAC, move laundry room *HIGHLIGHTS* 1. My husband and I are organized, efficient, and diligent and WE had to make sure we kept up with their requests once the project began! They work non-stop and the crews are so punctual!!! 2. Lux Builders requires all their workers to wear their Lux Builders t-shirt, which helps when you're a woman alone at the house project managing and the demo guys, plumbers, electricians, and rest of the crew are constantly in and out. 3. They keep your home as clean as possible during the project! We lived in the back half of the house, so we walked through a plastic zip tarp to get in and out of our bedroom. And once the wood floors were laid, the crew always removed their shoes before entering the house. 4. Sagi helped us shop for fixtures, appliances, flooring, and cabinets *before* the project began, so we were prepared. Lux Builders has great relationships and you're able to leverage their discounts! 5. Constant communication, great follow up, and Sagi and Melvin will ask along the way HOW you want things (ex. exact placement of hardware on cabinets, specific look of baseboards, etc) Sagi and Melvin are honest, kind, and always brought a positive attitude to the job site. Mindy at the office is responsive and so sweet! My husband and I are so grateful for choosing Lux Builders to remodel our home and we look forward to working with them on our next projects!!!

Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Our project manager Tamir was exceptional -- responsive, organized, and clearly invested in the quality of the work. He kept the job moving at a surprisingly fast pace and promptly resolved issues as they arose. Pricing was competitive -- we got multiple estimates and Way To Go came in reasonable without cutting corners. You can see it in the finish quality: the stonework is clean, the tile on the curved bench is precise, and the side yard pathway turned out better than we imagined. Our pool cleaner gave high praise on the resurfacing work when he arrived for the first cleaning! Highly recommend for anyone looking to transform their outdoor space -- quality work, fair pricing, and a timeline that'll surprise you.

The remodel included changing the old plaster to mini pebble, installing new tile, adding a new LED pool light, and doing the deco seal around the pool. The finish came out great and it completely refreshed the look of the pool. Once all the materials were ordered and ready, the actual work was completed in about a week, which I was really happy about. Tamir kept everything organized and the crew stayed on schedule. I also appreciated that he was able to accommodate a couple of last-minute additions I requested during the project and made sure everything was taken care of. The crew did solid work and the pool looks great now. I'm happy with how everything turned out and would recommend Way To Go Builders if you're planning a pool remodel.

I say "with" because they both were absolutely with us every step of the way. The schedule and commitment they made with us was as equally important to them as it was to us. We had some hiccups. No project that I've ever been involved with goes without a hitch. And our house was built in 1963, and the kitchen was last updated in 1992. So there were a lot of challenges to be met and issues to be dealt with as the kitchen went down to the studs. But Elena is a master project and business manager. And Dmitry is actual an artisan, with a team of very skilled people at the ready to do the work and handle the problems. Even when we had issues with the vendors for the appliances, Elena stepped in and worked the white spaces, smoothing over the issues and getting everyone back on track. Dmity himself literally built custom solutions real time at the work site. We had several challenges because of the way the house was initially built, and he overcame them one by one with creative solutions that were not simply kluges but are now permanent fixes that passed ALL Final Inspections. Which brings me to another point: Dmitry did all the plans for submittal to the city, and Elena submitted all the plans and permit requests, interfaced with the city for all inspections, and gave us copies of all the final inspections and permit information for our files. We paid for those services, and I will tell you it was well worth it. It bears noting that we lived in the house the entire time the work was being done, except for the 12 days when we were on vacation out of the country. Pulsar kept working the whole time we were gone, safeguarding our home, and keeping us in the loop even though we were eight hours ahead. Pulsar was not our least expensive bid. But we made the decision early on that we would not cut corners on this job. We are very grateful to have found Dmity and Elena. They were easy to work with, had respect for our property and our schedule and our budget as much as possible, and never made us feel sorry about choosing to with them. I recommend you choose them, too!#

"Buyer beware before you consider Pulsar Construction in Torrance, CA"!…read more On July 15th, 2025, I submitted a request for kitchen/bathrooms renovation on Pulsar's website (including my zip code - see attached photo) on my Fusion at Southbay home. The same same day, received a response from Elena (office manager) stating "we are booked until September 21st and not accepting new project but we will put you on our waiting list". "Our team will contact you in case of any cancellations". After patiently waiting, 2-1/2 months, on September 29th, I received an update from Elena stating "Good morning Jeff!!! We are looking for a new project starting in November. Please leave us a note with the property address and your email. We will reach out to you after 10/10". So I did just that only to receive an immediate reply "Unfortunately, we are unable to help you because your zip code 90250 is outside our service area". This was very disturbing as we've been waiting 2-1/2 months and if this was known, we would have contacted another construction company. I responded to Elena "that is interesting, my home is 6.5 miles from Pulsar and clearly within your service area, per your website map". Elena replied "we can't consider your project since it is territorially located in Los Angeles". I explained to Elena, this is absolutely false as my Fusion at Southbay home with Hawthorne zip code 90250 is an "incorporated" city in LA county, the same as Manhattan, Redondo and Hermosa - in which my home literally borders MB/RB directly across Aviation Blvd. I then texted her all of the supporting screen shots (including map area of my home to Pulsar), Pulsar's website stating "We specialize in serving the SOUTH BAY of Los Angeles for 9 years". Elena, my home is in the "South Bay of Los Angeles. I requested to speak with the Owner only to be completely ignored by her going forward. In summary, my renovations would have been completed by now. I lost 3 months and have to start the entire process over again looking for another construction company. Again, potential customers - Beware of their misrepresentation and tactics!

It is not straightforward to review solar companies because, well, these are big $ projects and I don't get solar installed every month or every year. So, this review does not compare Xero to other solar companies. I would be writing a fairytale if I were to review them, say, against Tesla. Having that cleared up, let me start the review. First come the sales people. Did they take the time to understand what my wife and I were really wanting our solar system to do for us? Did they propose a system that would meet our needs? George B. was 'our' sales person. He is still with Xero 6 years later, albeit in a larger role. This is a very positive sign. Before you sign with a solar company, ask about turnover and who your contact will be as the project progresses. Xero gave us 'one stop shopping' and that has real value. George fielded all our questions, informed us of status and kept us informed about anything that impacted our project (everything from municipal permits, Southern Edison approvals, project progress, to Solar rebates. Xero continues to be stable. We had one 'sales' meeting where George worked with us to configure a system and set up a timescale and pricing. One funny thing did happen that I should tell you about. George assumed we were looking for a minimum cost system that would lower our electric bill. We had to explain that what we wanted was a system that would give the maximum backup power (battery plus solar) in case the grid went down. That type of system would then also have the property of giving us there lowest SCE bill. Our final system was: 40 panels, 4 Tesla Powerwalls, and all the support infrastructure needed. The price was in line with expectations, so we signed up. The project moved quickly. XERO produced the plans that would be submitted to SCE and the City for permitting. They also created all the paperwork that was needed to take advantage of the government rebates. We were having our roof redone at the same time as we were replacing a much older solar system with the Xero system. George coordinated Xero's work to put hardware in place to hold the panels so the roofers could seal the hardware against leaks. The installation of the solar system went quickly and according to the original schedule. We were up and running 'on schedule'. We have had a few problems since the 2020 installation. One of the LG panels died. Xero replaced the panel, but we also learned that LG is getting out of the solar panel business. If other panels die Xero said they would 'take care of it'. I trust them. Then, one of the Tesla Powerwalls kept tripping the first breaker between it and the rest of the system. That turned out to be due to the screw that fixes a (large) wire to a breaker loosening. Xero repaired that immediately. Probably the most concerning failure we had was that the main breaker, the Backfeed Breaker, that connects the solar/Battery Backup system to the grid, melted and disconnected us from the grid. We were running on battery and solar only for a few days. The good news is that the system as implemented can deliver enough power to run our home and charge our car from the sun alone. One of the very senior Xero folks saw the 'call for service ticket' and rushed right over on a Sunday afternoon. Then one of their very senior engineers came out and diagnosed and repaired the damaged system. This failure was also caused by a screw that fixes a wire to the breaker loosening. The installation crew used calibrated torque wrenches to torque every screw to its specifications. So, faulty installation was not to be blamed. Heating/cooling can cause this type of failure as the wire and screw are subject to expansion and contraction. Overall, Xero is great company. They are stable, have excellent leadership, proudly stand behind their brand, they don't leave you 'hanging', they are easy to deal with, they've been in business for quite a long time, they have a stable workforce. I recommend them highly. "But", you say "aren't you concerned about the failures? Especially the 'loose set screw' issue." Short answer: NO. These failures are bound to happen in electrical equipment that carries large currents (have a chat with one of the AIs about this). There are many issues that can cause such failures: heating/cooling caused by large currents that are not steady; for example switching Powerwalls from charging to discharging. Both loose connections were in high current areas where current direction changed frequently. The solution to these problems is 'maintenance'. Xero now offers annual maintenance contracts which will prevent the type of failure we have seen. That is the theory. We shall see how this works out in practice over time.

I am so impressed with this company that I had to write a review of my experience. I had my Tesla…read morepowerwall installed about a year ago, but a few months back my energy bill from SCE began to skyrocket. I contacted SCE, but after wasting a lot of time with them, they said there was "nothing they could do." After this frustrating experience I contacted Xero Solar because I didn't know what else to do. I first spoke to Rhetta, who was extremely efficient and helpful. She bent over backwards to stay in touch with me and followed through to make sure my issues were addressed. Then, she got Tina (also) from Xero Solar, to contact SCE on my behalf. Much to my amazement, they were able to negotiate with SCE to refund me the overcharges that should never have been applied in the first place. Mind you, my Tesla power wall had been installed over a year ago, and I doubt any other solar installer would stand by its customer this way. Xero Solar came through for me when I needed it. I highly recommend them for any solar needs.
