The salon is clean and comfortable. I made an appointment and the stylist was ready to seat me right away, even though I was a few minutes early. I like a pretty no-frills haircut--just trimming the split ends and shaping up the layers--and the stylist understood from what I already was rocking and a few questions exactly what I was looking for. She was efficient and did a great job. I have curly hair and always expect my hair to be a little unfamiliar after a haircut because it's not my exact styling routine that I'm used to, but after washing and styling myself I am happy with the cut and the experience. I was nervous about how short my hair would be because I came in with it past my lower back, and when he was finished, it was short (at the top of my shoulders). But I am glad that I trusted him. I have never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally. I went into this salon to get some lowlights after I had tried to do them myself and they turned out blotchy. Madison was the one who worked on my hair and I'm not sure if she has no experience or was just having a bad day. She turned my hair jet black after I told her I did not like dark hair and it took her 5 hours to do it. I then asked for some highlights in the front to break up the black and she refused. I also talked to the owner of the salon who barely spoke proper English and basically told me it was my problem. My friends and family all commented that my hair has never looked this bad. I am devastated. I did not think bad hair salons like this existed anywhere but small rural towns. I find it hard to believe this man worked on hair in Dallas. I guess we will talk to the judge about it when I take him to small claims court. I'm sure some of the hairdressers at this salon are good. hi just went in to get some highlights today for my very first time , but owner was on a tight schedule. He mentioned he wouldn't have time to blow dry or style my hair. i wanted heavy highlights since my hair is a bit fragile -because I'm always getting it bleached. He mentioned i just needed to get my virgin hair bleached. Trusting the "professional" and owner of the establishment i decided to get my hair bleached instead of the heavy highlights. i had been there previously with my mother, and since her perm came out good. i decided to grab a business card in case of an emergency. My hair dresser this week was booked and is in San Antonio, so i called to make a Tuesday appointment at Lux. Let me add this place is very fashionable and owner is kind, BUT I hate to mention my hair was a bad disappointing mess. My hair came out identical to the girl that posted pictures of her own hair back in 2014. (i feel your pain doll) Owner didn't even let the toner sit. He rinsed and washed out my hair immediately. i was out the door with in an hour. As for anyone who has gotten there hair done knows a toner can sit a good 10 to 15 min, or so depending on individual hair. i didn't get it blow dried, or fixed at the salon. As i had mentioned before he was on a "tight schedule". i gave a decent tip, but if he would have taken the time to blow dry and style my hair i would have know how bad it came out, but since it was wet i didn't see the results until it dried. Had i known i'd never tipped him as much as i did. i'll repeat it again it was the worst hair bleached i have ever received. i wouldn't suggest getting your hair bleached done at this place. it was extremely disappointing and i don't mind paying the price, but this wasn't worth the amount he charged. My hair came out as if someone barely getting there cosmetologist license. When i called to make the appointment i asked for someone who does a good job and has been doing this for a while. Receptionist mentioned the "owner" would be handling my hair. Owners are known to do a great job. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. i'm stating my opinion. Save your coins or do the research. i just went on how he had done a good job on the perm. i usually do my research, but a perm and bleached hair are two different thing. I was in a bind and the holidays are around the corner and i didn't have anyone, but i should have yelped!! p.s. my mom went in to get her hair dyed and it wasn't done by the owner but by someone there and it came out horrible. BEWARE of this salon, they are thieves! The owner, Ray, tried to bribe me into not verbalizing or writing a review (explained at end of experience!!) by tempting me to sign a document! So I just moved here from Michigan and was looking for an Aveda Salon to touch up my roots.Since Luxe is an Aveda Salon, I booked an appointment. My appointment was with Anthony. I described to him EXACTLY how my stylist from my hometown has done my hair for years, full foil of my roots (my hair looked natural, with my normal hair color well blended in). Anthony informed me that here to touch up roots they do not do foils and seemed confused that my stylist would do that. Instead he reassured me that they do their touch ups by a specific method (which I can NOT find on their website as an option; I think he called it a root revitalize??) I was hesitant but he reassured me that it would look great. I regretfully took his "professional" advice as he was extremely friendly and confident. Once he washed my hair and I looked in the mirror I was horrified! My roots were BLEACH blonde and I stated my concern, but he reassured me that once it was blow dried it would blend. Well, he blow dried it and it looked horrible. I told Anthony that I did not like it. He told me to go home, wash it, and it would look great. I go home. I wash my hair and blow dry it. My hair was ORANGE, Dandelion yellow, unevenly applied, he stripped my natural color OUT of my roots/upper hair, he missed areas so I still had brown sections. I began bawling. I called the salon and talked to Anthony. I asked him to have his boss call me. I had to call 4 times through out the day before Ray would talk to me. He said I must have miscommunicated and Anthony didn't understand what I asked for. I made an appointment to speak with Ray the next day, even though he tried to have my hair consulted with Anthony! Next Day: I go to the salon and speak with Ray. I ask him if we can sit down and talk, which he agrees to do. I informed him that Anthony was extremely friendly but that he ruined my hair and I would like a refund so that I could have it fixed as I did not feel comfortable having my hair fixed at this salon. Ray was completely offended that I could not trust his salon or himself to fix my hair. He began to blame me for not communicating well to Anthony, he said that my hair blends perfectly and he didn't see anything wrong with it that Anthony did an excellent job. He again offered to fix my hair for me. I again asked for a refund so that I could get it fixed elsewhere. Now Ray was getting frustrated and raised his voice to me asking me why I can't trust him to do my hair, that he does a great job. I told him that I couldn't trust him as he hired a "professional" who is incompetent and ruined my hair. My hair is very sensitive and I only have one shot to fix it before I feel that it will be very damaged. That I have saved my money for 3 months to have my hair done and would prefer to go somewhere I can feel comfortable. What was Ray's response?? He said he's seen this all before, people who salon hop from salon to salon to salon. That I was trying to get my money back, "steal" from him, so that I could hop from salons to get my hair done free... I told him that I was completed offended and didn't deserve to be so disrespected (as his voice was again raised, in the middle of his salon around clients!!). I asked if he was actually the owner (yes he was) and told him that as an owner I would expect more professionalism and am disappointed... I then began to break down crying and asked him how he could let me leave with my hair looking this bad without a refund to get it fixed, that I didn't feel beautiful. What was Rays response!?!?! He said I had two options: 1. I'll do your hair for you. How do you expect me to fix this?? (Which I said I had no idea, I'm not the professional. But the other Aveda salon in town said they would do...and so forth). He then said I should grow it out and once my roots come back in he will give me a FREE dye... I said no. (plus that leaves my hair how it currently looks) 2. "Since you're so upset I will give you an offer...I will give you 60% of your money back" ... at this point I was ecstatic to gett anything back!... "ONLY you will have to sign a contract agreeing that you will NOT verbally or by writing say ANYTHING bad about my salon and your hair" WTF!?!?! I told him to keep my money, because I would rather tell everyone how poor of a business man he is and what kind of salon he runs. That I will post pictures of my hair and tell everyone who did it and how I was treated. That I would tell as much of Corpus as I can so that NO ONE has to go through what I did. He has stolen my money, he is a thief. Anthony and Ray are the best at customer service and making sure you leave happy. I have been here many times to get my hair cut and they always take care of me. The place looks amazing on the inside, looks like a high end night club. They have about 10 flat screens playing music and music videos. The bathroom is always clean. When you walk in you can sit on a nice luxurious couch, and they even offer water or soda to customers. They are very knowledgeable about their products and how to cut hair and give you a new look. If you are looking for a short or long term salon to visit regularly, give Ray and Anthony a shot. They have never let me down, and I look good when I leave. lol. read more

BEWARE!!! My daughter with long blonde hair saved up her own money and brought pictures for an icy white/blonde Balayge, and the stylist (Irene?) said yes, we can do that. My daughter had never had any sort of hair color or processing done before, and she was excited. Afterward, my daughter's hair was a weird yellow with green/grey lowlights. We argued that my daughter's hair looked almost the exact same color, except now it was a dull yellow, like doll hair, and the ends had weird green/grey lowlights, and her hair looked frizzy and damaged. We argued with the stylist and got nowhere. I was stunned, having never experienced such a disaster in a salon before. I regret that I paid the $150. Immediately afterward, I regretted it and spoke to the manager and showed him the before and after photos I had taken to prove our point. Ray( took my daughter's phone from her and scrolled through it, and quizzed us on the time of the photos, and 'who's that in the background then?' , as though we were lying. He searched through her personal photos, I presume to catch her in some lie, but it was very creepy and she asked for her phone back. Ray (Anthony, apparently he goes by both names) pretended he did not understand our complaint, hoping we'd get frustrated and just leave. He had the audacity to say, "Well, at least your hair's not falling out." (Oh, but two days later, yes as a matter of fact, it IS falling out! My daughter has actual bald spots on her head, from this nightmare of a salon.) Anyway, we told him we did not get what we paid for and wanted our money back . He offered $65, take it or leave it. We said no, we want it ALL back because now we have to find a salon to fix my daughter's hair. He said,"Now I'm not giving you anything because you're rude!" and he walked off. We were not being rude, just insistent. We went to another salon to ask for help with this weird dull doll hair with green lowlights. The stylist was horrified and asked who did this to you? And you can bet, we told her, and mentioned names too. Ray and Irene at Luxe Aveda Concept Salon. Spread the word. Now we are looking at my daughter having to cut off her waist-long hair because it is so damaged, and her scalp is so damaged, she has actual bald patches from this experience at Luxe. When I spoke "Anthony" (who was actually Ray, salon owner, but lied about his name for some unknown reason) initially about my the skin on my eyebrow being torn off and causing a scar he said if I could go into the salon and prove that they had hurt me he would refund my money, I told him I couldn't do that since I wasn't in the state for six weeks so he told me to send him pictures. I did and never heard a word back from them. So 5 weeks later when I finally got back to Corpus I immediately went into the Salon to show him my scar because he said if I went in there and showed him, no problem. Even though the scar is visible he refused to give me money back. Apparently he was very upset I gave him a negative review on yelp. I refused to leave until I was returned my measly 25 dollars (eyebrow wax plus tip). His response was "go ahead" but actually ended up calling the cops and LYING to them about how I was being aggressive with him and yelling and even went on and on to the cops about how I wrote a bad review about his business. What does this clown expect, his staff ripped the skin off my damn eyebrow and he is refusing to compensate me after I did everything he asked. This guy is a liar and a thief. I found other negative reviews about people who had injuries, like their scalps being burned with a hair dryer from this place and how they were not refunded their monies either. This place should be shut down and all their hairdresser licenses revoked, they are causing physical injuries to people. read more

Best haircut and color experience I have ever had! First of all, I had not colored my hair in over three years nor had it been professionally cut in over a year. I was very nervous to say the least then I met my hair stylist Ray who was Amazing! He immediately put me at ease with his professionalism, friendliness, and extensive knowledge of hair and color. I took my son in a couple of weeks ago to get his hair cut. He had long hair and wanted it cut into a very particular style. I didn't know where to go but decided to give this place a try since it is close. We went in and spoke with a gentleman by the name of Dan. We talked to him about what my son wanted. We didn't have any pictures. He was very patient and suggested we look at a few magazines to help find a picture of the style my son was going for. We found it and the guy was AMAZING. He went slow to make sure he didn't cut it too short for my son's taste. He was very detailed and my teenager ended up with the style he wanted. We were very impressed. Fast forward to two days ago. My teenage daughter has very long hair. She wanted to get her hair cut in layers without loosing length and have her bangs done in a really cute way. We decided that since Dan was so good with my son we should give him a try with her. She had been really apprehensive about having her hair cut, but again Dan took his time and he ROCKED it!!!! I couldn't be happier with the cuts for both my son and my daughter. They are equally pleased. Another thing that i really like is that Dan wasn't being pushy trying to get me to buy products. Honestly pretty shitty experience. I got my hair colored red a week and 3 days ago. I bought the red shampoo they recommended I took the very cold showers. Even waited 3 days after before I took the shower. Now a week and 3 days after my hair isn't even red anymore it's just the bleached color of my hair. I went back into the salon and said they could put toner but would have to charge me for it and that I'd have to come in and get the toner every week. This is ridiculous! Stylist FORGOT to add an ingredient to my color and it came out about 5 shades darker/brighter than I asked (I asked for strawberry blonde/light brown and it came out fire engine dark red). She decided to strip my hair without asking. It came out splotchy and uneven. She even colored my eyebrows without asking. It took over 3 hours. At the end she told me the color would wash out and she would give me free highlights. Needless to say, I did not want her to touch my hair again. I was left with severely damaged hair and a color i did not want -- Ii was embarrassing and took a lot of time and money to fix. I got my hair cut here about two weeks ago. First I came in, and the girl did not tell me her name so I have no idea who cut my hair. I came in for a toner, and the girl who cut my hair convinced me to get a trim. The toner came out well, but she got it all in my ear and my skin did not react well. Next, she trimmed my hair and trimmed more than we had discussed. My hair was well cut before, actually perfectly cut in the exact way I like it. I have naturally straight hair, typically very easy to get right. Her "trim" on my hair has left my hair noticeably uneven. My layers do not blend at all. Honestly, my hair looks absolutely horrible. certain spots are visibly shorter and choppy. Warning to stay away from Luxe Aveda Concepts Salon.. The owner is a huge creep, took my phone out of my hand skipping through my hair inspiration pics into my personal photos (just of my child but still) he thumped me in the head with his comb after each snip of hair by flopping it down in his hand, he burned my ear with the hair dryer, stabbed me in the ear with his shears, his shears were not sharpened and they pulled my hair as he aimlessly chopped away at my hair, he splashed water all over my face during his abrupt and careless washing of my hair and never used conditioner, he disregarded everything I said I wanted and did what he wanted instead, he chopped it too short in the back and it won't lay down now, he proceeded to ask me what I though and was put out when I told him that the blending had no flow to it and to fix it and he pretended the part in the back standing up didn't exist. I asked what could be done and he wet it and dried it again... Didn't help then sprayed hairspray on it and that didn't work to which he shrugged his shoulders and charged me 50 bucks anyway He is scum, he gave me the creeps, I was completely violated and taken advantage of Please don't give this man your business read more

Ray has highlighted my hair serveral times and has helped me go through many hair changes. I love his work! This place is really clean and you get this big city vibe in there! I can't speak for the eyebrow wax fiascoes that others reported, but I will say I thought I got a really great cut and style from Timbo - he seemed to get what I was after and delivered. I originally picked the salon because they use Aveda products, but I will continue to go also based on location and friendly, clean service. I was greeted in a pleasant professional manor. When Ray was finished with his client, we discussed my concerns and came up with a PLAN. I cannot explain how happy I am with the outcome of my appointment at Luxe!! I walked in with a picture of what I wanted and my stylist Alley delivered!! Many times I've went to a salon and walked out looking like the stylist or looking how they thought I should look! Alley explained to me that given the texture of my hair, the outcome would not look exactly like the photo! However she did not try to talk me out of it and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted! I have been going to Alley for several years and have never changed my cut until now! I truly appreciate that she took my request seriously, explained the cut to me and was a complete professional! Great cuts & good price. I'm confused as to why there are bad reviews of this salon. I've had my hair cut a number of times by Dan Anthony, and each time he has done a GREAT job. I moved from Austin to Corpus two years ago and I've enjoyed this salon just as much as Aveda salons in Austin. You really can't get a better haircut for the money, $30 shampoo & cut, and they send 20% off coupons in the mail. I recommend Dan to all my coworkers and friends. read more
