Epic episode with Cheech & Chong: eyebrows, facial , & hair. I asked for experienced technicians. The Brow technician tried to increase brow volume by globing dye on my skin. (Dye is permanent.) I asked for a minor trim to shape my hair. I specifically said, "leave my bangs long enough to touch my eyebrows." For clarity, I showed the stylist a photo of my hair the way I wear it. The stylist responded with frustration, indicating I was wasting her time. Soon, it became clear that her behavior was that of a petulant child: dismissive and defiant. She turned my back to the mirror then cut my hair -- to the scalp. She literally chopped off my bangs at my scalp. Not cool Renee: you're in the wrong business. Facial? Holy cow. Next time just use a can of Crisco, Crystal. You weren't even familiar with the salon's own products. Don't darken this door for any reason. $$$$. read more

Second massage after I promised myself I wouldn't go back after the first. My girlfriend and I took advantage of what seemed like a great deal for a Black Friday massage. The deal consisted of a massage, scalp massage, hot stone treatment and foot reflexology. We received less effort than someone who was preparing a Thanksgiving Turkey. Something to comparable to a two-year old finger painting. The massage felt more like we were just being slathered in oil. I get 10x the quality of scalp massage from my local Supercuts when I a shampoo after my haircut. We received about a minute each of hotstones. When we brought this up to the manager he seemed to have a dismissive attitude thinly veiled with an apologetic tone. No discount offered for such a terrible experience - $178.00 for 80 minutes of my life I will never get back. There are plenty of other places for massages in Corpus Christi, please go to any others instead of wasting your hard earned money here. read more

It's my wedding day and I asked for an updo. I showed the woman a photo of what I'd like done and she told me that wasn't possible because I don't have highlights which has nothing to do with the hairstyle. I went in at 9 am and left by 9:20. The service was horrible I called the salon once I left and the manager Rob was extremely rude and not understanding. He refused to give me a refund and expected me go back to the salon although I made it clear that I don't have time because I'm getting married. Definitely not a fan and wouldn't recommend. I received a gift card and was super excited to get my toes done. Quickly disappointed. Nail polished was quite clumpy and appeared old. Nail tech was very sweet and tried her best to fix it but it kept clumping and moving. She had to fix my big toe 4x. She put "drying drops" and insisted they'd be dry within 10 minutes. Pedicure took 1.5 hours... About 35/45 minutes later (2:15pm) including blasting AC at my toes to ensure they've dried only to get home and immediately wrinkled after taking my shoes off. ‍ read more

Anthony cut my hair and he did a fabulous job! Rob is the office manager and he does an excellent job as well. This is a wonderful place! I've been getting my haircut at Anthony's for 12 years now and I've never had any regrets. Anthony also does fabulous job with color as well! If you're interested in donating your hair to Driscoll Children's Hospital or to other facilities that provide wigs for cancer patients, they will make the transaction for you. Great massages, newly remodeled. I come here for the massages and they are always amazing. The staff is very professional and very friendly. The interior is newly remodeled and soon as you walk in you feel like your ready to relax. Very classy, and cozy interiors and dark wood line the inside. They offer beverages while you wait, and peppermints on the way out! If you have never gotten a massage before, you basically call, find a time, make an appointment. You show up and they give you a paper to fill out which goes over basic things, health concerns, allergies, are you pregnant, etc.... Then you get called in and she asks what areas to cover and what you like don't like. Then undress, lay down, and she knocks on the door and says boom "Are you ready?" and then you enjoy a heaven like atmosphere for an hour. I've got over 10 massages here and they have all been AMAZING. This last time 1/4/2014 was probably the most uncomfortable experience I've had here. I was taken to a different room/ side of the building this time and it was very cold on the inside. The massage table creaked like an old wood floor, so every time I got comfortable and relaxed she would start massaging and it would creak with the slightest of pressure. The feeling of anxiety like your about to break the massage bed and fall to the floor kept me on my toes and uncomfortable the entire time. The lotion was also freezing cold this time and gave me goosebumps, and in this hallway you can still hear people from the salon chatting away and discussing their dinner plans. I've never had a bad massage here, but this time was not as great as before. Other than that I will return and hopefully voice my concerns if the lotion comes out cold again! I went there for the first time ever for a wax. The first woman wasn't rude, but she seemed like she would rather be elsewhere; she wasn't very welcoming and seemed aloof with me. She was very experienced, but the end result didn't meet my expectations. The second woman who worked on me was more welcoming. However, she didn't seem to have as much experience as the first woman. She really made the experience feel like a rush job, and there were streaks of hair leftover. I guess she didn't pace herself well, because near the end of my appointment, she really rushed through the job. I had to go home and remove the remainder of the hairs with my epilator, although I felt I shouldn't have needed to do so. The salon itself is very clean and beautiful - like I would expect a salon to be. Some of the other employees passing by the waiting area were friendly. But, I wouldn't want to return for another wax, which is really disappointing since I paid so much for the waxes. read more

If you know your stylist, massage therapist or nail technicians personally and have their personal phone number, book your appointment through them directly. On numerous occasions Anthony's front of house has either misplaced my reservation, reserved for incorrect service or incorrect date. Was there for a out of town visit before my bestfriends Wedding for hair style and last second wax. Not worth the price you pay. I truly don't feel I got what I paid for. The hair tech only saw 1 picture before she started onto my hair, the salon was aware BEFORE my appointment about my hair texture and I asked for extra hold and not even a hour later my hair fell. The last second wax .... my 1st wax as well, still had a few hairs after the full Brazilian, I had to pluck out, asked for FULL legs and not sure if hairs weren't long enough or what but I left with fuzzy legs still. The wax techs attitude was amazing, the hair tech was awesome but very quite, and good lord the receptionist was ABSOLUTELY horrible. Your experience depends on the stylist you get. The first time I went there it was very awkward because the lady doing my hair didn't say anything at all. The second time was fun because Celia was my stylist :). This most recent time, i went in to get highlights and Celia wasn't available so Anthony was going to do my hair. Everything was going normally until It was time to bleach my hair. While he was bleaching it, he was talking to this lady working on another persons hair nearby. Anthony started talking about how his wife was underweight a few years ago and apparently now she had become overweight and was asking the other hairdresser lady for advice on how to tell his wife without her getting offended. Also the other lady was saying how she wears a jacket to work and how that's a "sKinNy giRL tHinG". Like bruh. You're not quirky. I just hated that entire conversation because I felt so uncomfortable the whole time. I told my friend this who also gets her hair done by Anthony and she said that he was telling her how her daughters nose is really big and asked her how her nose is so small. I don't know if it's just me, but I would feel guilty to go to work and complain about your family's looks and weight and ask coworkers for advice right in front of new clients.... Anthony gave off such a bad first impression but something tells me he doesn't care about what other people's impressions are of him because he's self centered... In conclusion, only go to the nice people in the salon and avoid Anthony. read more

This place is WAY overrated. I went for a haircut and the woman took two hours to cut my hair, and I have fine and short hair. Then when she was done, they charged me $85!!!!!! Went here for color and cut. Stylist FORGOT to add an ingredient to my color and it came out about 5 shades darker/brighter than I asked (I asked for strawberry blonde/light brown and it came out fire engine dark red). She decided to strip my hair without asking. It came out splotchy and uneven. She even colored my eyebrows without asking. It took over 3 hours. At the end she told me the color would wash out and she would give me free highlights. Needless to say, I did not want her to touch my hair again. I was left with severely damaged hair and a color i did not want -- Ii was embarrassing and took a lot of time and money to fix. The WORST part (how could it get worse, you ask?) was that I tried to contact Anthony's about this and they completely ignored me. Do NOT go here. read more
