I am a regular at the Woodhouse Day Spa. I get my eyebrows done monthly, go in for facials every couple of months, and squeeze in massages and pedicures from time to time. The spa has a great "spa" feel to it. They have a "quiet" room they take you to before your service, which I agree with some other reviewers is not always actually quiet. The relaxing music you get at every spa is played over the loudspeaker and is often a smidge too loud. But, the quiet room offers water and snacks - along with staff offering a drink as they lead you to the room. If you're going in for a massage or facial, you'll be taken to the bathroom/locker room where you can change to your comfort level and are able to lock your belongings during your service. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The esthetician who does my facials and eyebrows (Alma) is warm and friendly. One weekend, I completely forgot about my appointment and Alma told the front desk to call me, because "it didn't sound like me to forget." They offered a later appointment for me and didn't seem annoyed at all. For those of us who know we'll keep coming back, Woodhouse offers a membership whereby you get discounted services and products. If you go as often as I do, the membership will pay for itself shortly. read more

Friend & I had massages booked. Went to check out and use a gift card and the manager Maya Said the card wasn't working (note: BEFORE we even had massages Maya checked the card and confirmed a $140.00 balance. ) She (Maya) called her general manager and came back and told us it wasn't working and we need to find another way to come up with $170 and that her general manager would open a ticket this week. Maya NEVER APOLOGIZED, started raising her voice, and literally STOMPING her feet and getting frustrated with US, when we were asking her to simply apply the balance that she verified was on the card. I asked if we just shouldn't buy gift cards here, Maya threw her arms up and said, " if that's what you decide to do then that's on you". This could've been handled so much better, had she been respectful, kind or even apologized for THEIR system error. We asked for the General Manager number and she gave us the number to the district office in India to try to fix the error on our end. I've never experienced such a rude, unprofessional "manager" and someone who is so ill equipped to be a manager. After she walked away the other girl at the front was kind and apologized, but the manager couldn't be bothered to do so, or to understand our frustration. read more

I had an amazing experience at the Woodhouse Spa. Their receptionists are informative and very helpful and sweet. The robes are the fluffiest robe I have ever put on. I got an 80 min mykeni facial with Destiny, and my skin looks and feels so incredible. It is incredibly worth it to book with her, as she really takes her time and is ultra gentle and provides a nourishing experience for not just the face but the mind and spirit as well. Absolutely loved my experience. I did a couples massage with my husband. Renee was an amazing massage therapist. He was very attentive to my needs and checked on me throughout our session. I love how knowledgeable he was about my pressure points. He also gave me some oversight about where the tightnesses actually was in each part of my body. I appreciated this because I can be sure to focus on those areas for stretching before my next session. Before coming in I was having some tingling in my leg and pain in my hip. The worst massage AND facial I've ever had in my life. I decided to surprise my mother with a massage and facial as an early birthday gift and I totally regret choosing this "day spa". Their "Swedish" massage was a complete joke! Nothing about it was a massage, it felt like we were being lightly rubbed down with oil, no pressure whatsoever and the masseuse never asked about the pressure. To be honest I have received better massages from the massage chairs at the nail salons... To worsen the experience even more, the facial we received was absolutely ridiculous! Other spas I've been to all have nicely scented soft face towels and lovely smelling face products. Every product that they used on my face at this "day spa" smelled like sewage/mold. The face towels used were so rough, every time she wiped my face it felt like sandpaper. On top of that the lady that did my facial kept coughing which was totally unprofessional. I understand being sick and having to come to work and doing your job but constantly coughing while your handling someone's bare face is unacceptable. Incompetent. I scheduled a couples massage a week prior to my wifes birthday. I get a call the day before exclaiming that due to scheduling conflict, we would have to change our massages from swedish with stone treatment to only stone. Then the morning of, one of the masseuses called in sick which made it to where we were unable to have our couples massage in tandem but instead one after the other, or reschedule for the following week. Had good experience at this location 2 years ago. Not so today. I booked massage, facial and pedi about 3 months prior with multiple confirmations. When I arrived, was told that facial was not available because the aestician wasn't booked for today, then I would have to wait 21/2 hours for the pedicure. The management team apparently does not check for staff availability of scheduled services until the morning of the appointment. Cheyenne, my masseuse, gets 5 stars despite having to deal with client dissatisfaction and disappointment. The 20% discount that was offered did not come close to compensate. Wanted to gift a spa massage to my BFF as a birthday gift. Called this spa during covid with a few questions about their gift certificates, the young lady was super helpful and professional in answering all of my questions. My friend did have a small hiccup where they double booked on the first scheduled appt time(they offered a male masseuse but that's not her preference) so she was forced to reschedule, so unfortunately she wasn't able to go her bday weekend which was a damper. My bf brought me here to get a massage. Let me just say WOW. We walked in and it was really nice inside. The whole staff there were so polite. They gave us some forms to fill out. Escorted us to a waiting room and gave us water. Then my masseuse (a pregnant lady named Amanda I think) came to escort me to the room. We walk in and she's talking to me. Super professional. The room was very nice. The music and scent in the room were very relaxing. I lay on the table and to my surprise it's a heated table. She comes in and starts massaging. The massage is great. She asked me about pressure but it was already perfect. To be honest I was so relaxed I think I even dosed off. Although confusing to find, once I was in the doors it was surreal. The receptionists were extremely sweet and helpful (one of them was on the phone with me giving turn by turn directions to the location!!) and then check in process was quick and easy. I met my masseuse and was led to a quiet, clean room to undress (to my comfort level) and then the magic began. Let me tell you. After a few months went back today for a much needed massage. I have been getting massages for a number years due to neck and shoulder spasms. Tom did my 80 minute massage today. First time having had him there. My last visit there was a bit disappointing. Today, By far the best massage I have ever had. This young man found trigger points and knots I didn't know I had. He addressed them with ease and intent to release the knots ensuring I was comfortable. Quite experienced, Very professional, very thorough kept checking to make sure I was good. The atmosphere is so serene and relaxing however the services I received from Tom were exceptional. The girls upfront are quite friendly and helpful. I had a massage in Dec. by Amanda. She was absolutely awful. I felt like I had a massage by a child. I submitted my bad review of her and never heard back from management. This person continues to work here and I am sure many people are very disappointed with the massage she gives. What a waste of money. For my birthday my boyfriend scheduled me a massage and facial. I show up to my appointment and fill out my paper work, all the usual stuff you do but immediately felt judged when I walked through the door. I go back for my massage and tell the woman I like very firm pressure. During the massage the first few minutes were great then less than ten minutes in it feels like she's barely applying any pressure at all. She barely massaged my legs. I didn't feel any "release" from this massage whatsoever. Everywhere I've gone to get a massage at the end they've used a hot towel and wiped off the excess oil....not here! After my massage I put my clothes back on covered in massage oil hoping not to ruin my clothes then go into the waiting room for my facial. Everyone I see is in a robe and sandals. Did they get a special package I didn't know about?? Why did I not get a robe or at least offered one?? Am I supposed to ask for one? The facial made me doze off a little bit because it was so relaxing but the next day I was so broken out it looked worse than my hormonal acne. Left this "supposed to be relaxing" spa birthday gift oily and disappointed. I feel bad my boyfriend spent so much money on this for it to be a waste. I'd rather go down the street to an oriental massage place for a quarter of the price and leave feeling refreshed and less tense. I'm usually a skeptic when reading these reviews but, I just had a 50 minute deep tissue with Lillian and it was fantastic. She really focuses on your problem areas(mine was shoulders, neck and chest) but still provided a total body massage. The pressure was just right but she was able to apply more if you preferred. The facility was clean, prompt and very professional but not overly so. I was a little nervous to have a massage here because it seemed a little too fancy, but the staff really puts you at ease. Beware when getting manicures and pedicures- bring your own polish! They used to carry Sparitual Polish, never had an issue with it or any polish I have ever used. Now they carry a new line and when I got a manicure earlier this month it discolored my nails orange. Hadn't had the time to let them know until today when they called me to ask if I would donate my rewards points for breast cancer awareness month. I mentioned my experience, girl put me on hold then came back said she was sorry I had that experience and next time to bring my own polish- said it could have been the color I chose- which was lilac. Been going to this place for a long time, very sad that this is how they treat their loyal customers when there is an issue. I visited this location recently because I received a gift card for their "spa classic" package. From the beginning I was a little skeptical due to covid 19 but I took a chance. Believe me, I would've rather caught the virus than go if I knew how my experience would go. I received a confirmation via voicemail for my appointment the day before. The girl on the phone kept stuttering and messing up on what you can tell was scripted for her. It took me a while to even understand what the voice mail was about. Anyways, when I arrived there was nobody at the front desk. I stood waiting for about 5 minutes before the girl rushed over after seeing me. She checked me in, took my gift card and sat me in the back. While I was waiting, I noticed another lady waiting near was drinking a glass of wine in a robe. No one offered me any type of drink. While I was waiting, the other lady waiting and I could over hear people talking in the hall near their restrooms. We both looked at each other in shock when we heard they were discussing being "annoyed after having to still work when others were sent home for quarantine after testing positive for covid".... I immediately wanted to leave... and what?? A spa is still open after employees tested positive for covid? my esthetician drea came for me about a minute later. she complimented my dress. She said "oh your dress is so pretty and you look so good in it for your age"... lol what the what????? My age? I didn't say much but thank you, tho it did rub me the wrong way. After my facial, I was sat back down in their waiting area. My esthetician offered me a drink but I was still in my regular clothing. Once she returned with my glass I asked her about the robes and she said she'll ask about that. Moments later a shorter, blonde girl came in and introduced herself as the manager. She apologized and said their laundry attendant was not in today and that the robes were not washed at the moment. That's unprofessional for such the reputation this place has. At that point I was upset. I saw others enjoying their visit while mine from the beginning was unpleasant. I asked for the "managers" supervisor and she said her GM wasn't in today that she'll leave message for her to contact me. I informed the manager about my experience so far and about over hearing that people in the spa have covid (which makes sense as to why so many people weren't in that day). She just apologized and said she's unable to speak about any personal or medical business pertaining to others and asked if there's anything else she could do for me... idk what kind of question that was when obviously she cannot do anything for me but apologize like a broken record. I asked for her name and she replied "Madeline". I told her no thank you, that I'll just wait to speak with her GM. Still, I've received no word from the company. I continue with my massage, which was okay but nothing extraordinary like their rep. My pedicure was bad though, i will say. THE WOODHOUSE DOES NOT APPLY SHELLAC ON TOES. I can't believe THAT for such a high priced spa. My services were over $200 WITH A PACKAGE DISCOUNT and I couldn't get shellac on my toes? Common now... Again.... I'd rather catch the COVID 19 virus than spend money at this spa ever again. Oh and not to mention, while waiting to pay for my services after... a woman was checking in and the girl asked her if she's been around anyone who had covid and took her temperature. From the minute I walked in it was a blissful experience. I was greeted at the front desk and taken to a private locker area with restrooms where I changed. I was then taken to a waiting area where I was taken a delicious iced tea and a hot towel for my neck. It was very relaxing and I hadn't even began the massage or facial. I had a spa experience where foot towels were placed on my feet while I received a facial and a massage. The massage was the perfect pressure and the oils were very calming. If I could have given them "0" stars, I would have. We used The Woodhouse to host the bridal party's mani/pedis before our wedding--and I've never had such a horrible spa experience. I was the last person to receive my spa mani/pedi and I had two people working on me at once and as soon as they finished painting, they made me get up and leave. I didn't even have time to dry, so my polish was messed up and I actually had to remove it before the wedding. (Talk about a WASTE of money!!) The manager was horrible and we had to stop my massage because I was so disppointed about the experince, I kept crying. My masseuse was so sweet---she explained how nice the owner was and that we should just let the owner know about our experience. That's funny because I keep sending emails to The Woodhouse telling them I would never go back but yet they've never responded and continue to send me emails (maybe the manager checks the emails as well??). Even after all of that, I still had to pay the REQUIRED gratuity and for the first 15 minutes of the massage before I asked them to stop. read more

Today I Went for an 80 minute deep tissue massage, was incredibly blissful. Ty worked out all my knots in my neck and shoulder. Pretty intense at times however, what I consider "good" pain. I used to frequent this place alot when they first opened, Wendy and staff have always gone above and beyond to accodomate customers. A bit expensive but worth the splurge for yourself. It's located in brookhollow office condominiums. I didn't know you had to drive in so I had trouble finding it. It does take awhile to get you situated so get there 10-15 min early. You get a robe and plastic shoes and can dress down to your comfort level in the restroom. There's plenty of room to change and they give you a key to lock your purse in a locker. I was there for 50 min Swedish massage and reflexology. My masseuse was very professional and attentive. The reflexology was described on the website as for hands and feet, but she just did my feet. It felt good so I didn't complain. Overall, a good experience. I feel nice and relaxed after my long week! This was my valentines gift from my bf so I didn't even have to pay for it; he bought me the gift certificate online and printed it our for me. read more

PROS: First of all I have to say that I don't understand how people think it's hard to find. Because there's no big sign off Staples? Enter where the water fountain is next to Wings-N-More and go straight back and it's on the left, there is a sign above their door. Not hard! The only plus was the atmosphere and the friendliness from the staff. When I walked in the atmosphere was very relaxing and very spa like. I was excited and ready to be rejuvenated. The lights are not bright and the quiet room was very quiet. I was offered refreshments a few times, which was nice of them. CONS: I did give it 2 stars because I have had better service elsewhere and for a way cheaper cost. Didn't like that the massage hurt and wasn't very relaxing. Especially after, I was so sore, even the next day! The pedicure: I've gotten a better one at nail places around town, she was too quick (maybe in a hurry) and didn't massage my calves very much. (actually I don't remember her doing that at all). When she asked me to pick a color, I asked for French and she said she didn't have time. I didn't like their colors so I said clear and painted them at home, and also had to file one of my big toes (she filed my toenails but obviously not very good). I expected a real treat here but was disappointed. I asked for the refreshener shower but was advised not to do that since my toenails would be wet, so they put me down for a reflexology on my feet after my massage. Overrated and very overpriced, especially for Corpus! The robe was thin and didn't cover much. The sandals were okay. The locker room is nice. They ran out of wine, so that wasn't great. The snacks were from sams club a small bag of peanut mix or cheap cookies. For over $500 for my mom and I to experience a few hours of pampering, they have the money to invest in better treats to eat or not run out of wine. 1st we received a massage was a 4/10 at best. It was weak and I felt no relief. The room was not quiet because we could hear the room next to us laughing and chatting most of the time. Moving on to the Facial. For me, I get a facial once a month so I expect a lot and know when it's done well. It was not bad. My mother's lady did not offer and advise on her skin or what she could buy to improve her aging skin. Mine was a 7/10. The waiting in between was awful. You are sitting with a robe on with nothing on and it's out in the open. People were walking by constantly. The pedicure was a complete joke. We decided to get dressed because the small pedicure room is right by the front door! No way would you want to sit in a robe with everyone looking at you. The massage chairs were nice. Overall, way too expensive for the people they hire to ask for such high pricing. None of the people were experienced in their field, it was abundantly clear. By the way, this place is incredibly hard to find and the website doesn't help. Will not be back nor recommend to anyone I know. What a complete waste of $500! I recommended one of my best friends, and she called to set an appointment with deneve and the receptionist was very rude and said deneve was no longer with them!?! I was just there! My organic seaweed line facial was done by Deneve she was very informative about the products she was using, made sure I was comfortable and was very sweet. I didn't realize I was drying my skin out by using a exfoliating scrub daily makes sense! So I purchased the "get glowing "mask to rehydrate my skin! It smells so good I am actually wearing it RIGHT now!! aside from the services the spa itself was very clean and the girls at the front desk Amanda and Danielle were very sweet. I just had my first massage here and it was an absolutely blissful experience! My masseuse was Sarah and she was an absolute magician with her hands, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! The front desk was super helpful and catered to me as soon as I came in the door. I was greeted with a robe, slippers, hot tea, soothing music, and aromatherapy. Sarah answered all my questions and helped me relax because I felt nervous about my first massage. When I was checking out, the front desk gave me product recommendations and made sure I liked my visit. They honored my military discount (current army soldier), and thanked me for my service, and then even gave me a free gift because my masseuse told them I was leaving for a year for training. What an amazing experience! I felt pampered and I'm definitely coming back when on leave! Highly recommend this spa and would become a member to it if I was staying in Texas! I used to love this place, but won't recommend anymore. My husband purchased my mom and I experience packages ($470 each) and I've called several times about getting appointments and can't get in. The soonest, as of today, is November 7th. It's July! You can't break up services, even though they don't have enough staff and refuse to accommodate. The appointment on the 7th includes wait times of up to 30 minutes between services. They don't mind selling you the gift card though! Bad business if you ask me. Not impressed... read more
