(Update: But to be honest the salon doesn't seem to get much use, I've never seen anyone in it, whenever I am there ) The reason I went to Sonny's this time as opposed to my regular place was because my regular guy (Joe AKA professor cutz) changed locations and now works here. I would to the end of the earth to get a cut from him. He can cut any texture of hair too. My partner is black, and he won't go to anyone but Joe! People... I'm telling you go to Joe! The nice thing about this place is they accept card, Venmo and cash. Not every place does some places are just cash so ithis is a nice change. Parking is weird though. There is a small driveway next to the shop which leads to A parking lot behind the store.

He asked me what I wanted in my haircut and delivered it for the most part. My sideburns were off though. One side was thinner than the other. It was also a little more expensive than I expected. $18 for an adult haircut is a little more than I'm used to. Also they only accept cash, so make sure you bring some!

Not "Beauty Salons", not "Beautician Schools", not "Hair Sylists". Just plain old ordinary Barber Shops. You know the place you go to see the guys get together and just chew the fat while getting yourself a needed cleanup for your mop top. Men don't need these hot towel facials, or full shampoos with 'dandelion' cream (or whatever they put in)... sure it's nice to be pampered a little by the ladies and the Salons (If they do.. but that's a story for later I suppose and will explain why a Male Hair salon has to go ABOVE and beyond for a decent rating from me...). Anyway, getting myself sidetracked here. Right off the main street on South Florissant north of 270. Easy to get to location, plenty of parking space around the building, (but remember the Barber's rule.. Sunday or Monday, don't come by, cause we won't be there :) Anyway. Ron's place is about what you expect for a three-barber shop. Well lit. the full array of tools. even an old school vending machine (which i forgot to test or even photograph) . with a small TV off to the side playing the usual Over the Airwaves tv show on the western channel (come on, as a kid, you always wanted had Lone Ranger or Rifleman, or Gunsmoke playing, right?) And off to the side a cabinet of various St. Louis school high school memorabilia (Hey that's what you want! It's a shop for making young adults presentable for the real world and what better way than by including the local high schools in the layout?) As for the cut. smooth , professional, and just all around well done as expected. Prices have gone up naturally in the economy, about $21 (for a standard men's cut.). but still in today's day and age, STILL a bargain compared to the "Men's Salons". Two notes : 1) Cash only business (although you can find an ATM in the liquor store next door) and 2) Tips are appreciated! (and even with tips It's still cheaper than that SALON FOR MEN!)

They proceed to charge him $50 than said oh you can give me $10 for your next visit so just $40 today .. SIR IT WONT BE ANOTHER VISIT!!
