I called today and spoke with Sophia. What a nightmare of a person. Let me start by saying I spent hours this morning looking for a quality local salon. I am from Los Angeles where the nail scene is very competitive and top notch. So I recognize quality. I saw some work by a girl named Linda and called Luxor to book an appointment. This is how it went. Called: no answer just kept ringing. Called again (using a number from Google instead of yelp thinking maybe that was an old number or something)... someone answered. I said: Hi! I'd like to book a full set with Linda if possible! The girl on the phone at Luxor says: "she doesn't work here anymore" I said: "oh! Ok! Thank you!" She says: "what's your name??" I said: (taken by surprise by her harsh tone and wondering why on earth she needs my name) "Oh I'm Chrissy" She says: "ok yea where did you see her work bc she's not here anymore we have other ppl, do you want to book with someone else?" I tell her that I did some research on yelp and google and wanted to book with her bc I'm particular and liked being able to see her work and what she can do. She tells me most of their up to date work is in their instagram and tells me the handle. We end the call. I then decided to look at their insta and I see some good work. So I decide to call back to book. Call four times in a row with no answer. Just keeps ringing. 5th time Sophia answers, I tell her hey I just called blah blah blah but I saw the work and would like to book! She says "IM ALL GOOD ON PICKY!" I ignore the incredibly immature and rude comment and continue on by saying "yea I'm from Los Angeles and I am just having a hard time finding someone who is the same quality as what I'm used to but the work on insta was good do you have any openings today for a full set?" She then kind of changed her tune and starts saying "yea girl tell me about it! I know it's hard to find good ppl here! Then proceeds to say she's the best nail girl there for me. Can I book a full set today? No we are all booked today. OKAAAAAYYYY! Thanks girlie! (girl BYE) Terrible attitude, unprofessional, immature and it's safe to say I'll never go to Luxor. I don't do MEAN GIRL VIBES. Go to Joyful Nails, it's in a better location, way nicer inside, friendly staff and my nails are IMMACULATE! Fair prices too! read more

I received a wonderful pedicure with Bralynn which was a real treat on my birthday. She was and very knowledgeable in her ability to give me the best pedicure I have had in a long time. I would recommend her as she is so concentrated in her skill and her knowledge of her products. Although I live in Utah, an hour away from the Syracuse salon, I will be making future appointments for my nails and pedicures. Please be sure to ask for BreeLynn for your pedicures, you will not be sorry. My next visit will still have my nails done with Sophia. And I always had anxiety trying to find someone who doesn't hurt you. And does what you ask. The integrity and quality of nails out there is subpar. Luxor nails is the place to be. I'm sad to not be able to give 5 stars as I do feel they deserve it, but my nail polish partially peeled off on one of my nails 2 days after getting them done. I know if I was local and called they would fix it but I am on a plane back to Europe and cannot have that done. The lack of a star is due to the fact that I'll have to have them fixed sooner than planned. There was a slight air bubble or polish buildup that cause it to lift. It happens. read more

I love this place! I have had several sets done by Michelle, and they have been the longest lasting manicures I have ever had and they always look absolutely beautiful. The pedicures I have gotten here have also been top notch. The gentleman that has done mine in the past gives the best foot massages I've ever had at a salon. They staff is super energetic and fun, and they play great music. It is definitely a more lively salon than some of the others I have been too, but it is such a joy to come here. My mom and I were looking for a salon at the last minute. I called and made appts for mani and pedi the next day. Well I screwed up my appt time and was not going to be able to be seen. Linda and her professional women worked to rearrange times and made it possible for me to get my mani and pedi. They were the most fun to be around. When we started talking Linda and I learned we are from the same town in Arkansas. Linda's mom has a salon in Hot Springs Ark. I have been to her moms salon and some of my family go there. I have been looking for a new nail place, I am always a long term loyal client. This was my first appointment at this nail salon. I scheduled my appointment with Sophia a month ago. However, I was really disappointed with my first experience here. I showed up on time for my appointment and was left sitting for 10 minutes with minimal communication, the only employee there, telling me they'd be right with me but there was no one else there. Eventually, two employees walked in, one I assuming was Sophia with bags of fast food and she went to the back room, the other young lady told me she'd be right with me. This was the second time I had been told that and had already been waiting for over 10 minutes for my scheduled appointment. I completely understand that people need breaks, but this was unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially without a heads-up or rescheduling option.They have all my information and could have communicated they were running behind or needed to push my appointment. I ended up walking out, this was not a great first impression for a potential long term consistent client. I'd caution anyone who values their time to go somewhere else since being timely isn't a priority here. read more

It was my first time here and overall I had a really good experience, the nail techs were friendly and kept the conversation going. It was a cute salon that was fairly simple and clean which is nice compared to most salons which seem to have a lot going on inside. I would have given 5 stars based on the experience but I left with quite a bit of gel on my skin not just nails and have been having a terrible itchy reaction in those spots which began about an hour after I left the salon. I've done my best to get it off but it's difficult to do without messing up the polish on my nails as well. It wasn't the most expensive manicure I've paid for but it still sucks to spend money and then have that happen. With that being said, I would still go back but just check to make sure there isn't excess gel being cured on my skin next time. read more

Disappointed. We are new to the area and I wanted to find my mom a really good salon to start going to for her mani pedis. I got her a gift certificate for her birthday, and scheduled her appointment. The salon was perfect, no tvs, very inviting environment, clean. The owner did her manicure but another girl did her pedicure... she had long dagger shaped nails... she didn't really do any cutting or shaping or cuticle work, she had the hot stones but didn't really use them, no parafin wax, which is like the best part of a pedicure... she didn't do a massage and just laid the hot towel across her legs instead of actually wrapping them each individually. My mom wasn't presented with a menu to choose what pedicure she wanted or anything. She said it felt like the girl could care less if she ever came back. Such a bummer of a birthday present. I wanted it to be the best experience and I'm pretty let down. All the reviews were so good. I absolutely love this place! Such a great atmosphere with friendly upbeat staff! It's very clean and smells so nice. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience! We went in for 2 pedicures and it was $95. In case you are wondering the price for two pedicures. There wasn't a sign in the store with all the pricing and services they provide like most places but I think if you just ask they will tell you or you can call. I couldn't find a pricing sheet online either on their Facebook page. Anyways, I highly recommend this place if you are looking to treat your self. So I was already a happy little bean! I ended up calling back to reschedule and the lady was super sweet and had no problem fitting me in for a later time.
