Worst customer service ever. Went to this salon on a Wednesday and my toenail polish was already chipping on Friday. I did not even bother to go back to get it fixed because of the rude attitude from the employee. I was rushed to pick a color, and she didn't want to help me find the color I was looking for. Then she kept walking away while doing my nails for long periods of time. I wanted my nails shaped the same way I already had them and she changed them to something different. She argued with me about shaping them correctly, which was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. My nails nor toes look like I just got them done. read more

I went for a pedi in mid to late 2012 and was not impressed. Their polishes were of low quality and were arranged/displayed poorly. The guy who worked on me actually left the water running in my tub to the point that it overflowed while he wasn't paying attention and then he had to clean it up. Awkward. If you are interested in having a pedicure with a friend, don't walk in unless you are together and start at the same time. They not only made my friend start early while she waited for me, they were rude to both of us when we sat down. Since they made my friend start early (even though she said she would wait for me to sit down) she was done 10 minutes before me and asked her to move out of the chair immediately. They are more interested in turning over customers than actually listening. The customer service here is way below par. There are a few good manicurists here though which makes me occasionally return. read more

I've been going to this salon for 3 years now and love it! Linda or Andrew take care of my hands and I have pretty long natural nails with an overlay. They give me sound advice about the care between visits and are always friendly with me. I'm pretty casual about who does my pedicures, but have a preference for DK and Alexis. The prices are about in line with other places, I usually pay about 65 bucks for a fill and pedicure plus tip. Take note that Linda and Andrew are the busiest so depending on when you want to go, try to make an appointment. read more

Poor customer service from the owners! My debit card was also overcharged and I was told that in order to fix it I had to come back to the salon to go over their records for that day. Wth? Who has time for that? That was an inconvenience that I didn't want to endure because I don't live close to the salon. I just happened to stop by while in that area so going back for $30 wasn't really worth the argument or time. The owners were rude when I told them the design I wanted on my nails also. From now on I pay cash wherever I go...I guess something good DID come out of the experience. LESSON LEARNED. read more

I have been coming here for years because they are close by. I went in for cut down polish change and pedicure. The pedicure tech suggested $42 level. I asked that my feet be scrubbed. He did a great job ... so much so that one of the owners told him he was taking to long (in Vietnamese) as in the past with other techs my feet and toes and legs were barely touched. my nails came out great. I was charged $57 for pedicure for doing his job and $33 for nails. Didn't appreciate the tech making his own tip as I went along with the add'l cost for next level of service. i paid the $90 didn't tip and won't be back. When I questioned the cost it wasn't meet with any concerns from either tech. This has happened before when I insisted on proper pedicure service as I have my cosmetologist education and license. Also no Asian hatred ... but speak English and stop talking about your clients And watch the personal question. read more

Stopped in with no appointment and my mom and I had a short wait. They seated us next to each other and started quickly. The nail techs were attentive and skilled. The basic pedi was great and less than $30! The chairs were very comfortable and in great shape. Some of the best massage chairs I've ever used. Great option for this part of town. read more

After a long day at work, it comes close to the relaxation of an actual massage. Danny also gives the best pedicures. It's hard for me to find a nail spa that actually measures up to my dear spa in Fayetteville. Lots of tech don't massage more than 5 minutes IF THAT. so this place is alittle better than my last overly priced pedi just down the street. Very quiet, clean, great service. I got a regular pedi which was $26 and I was ok with that considering the quality of service. My feet are well maintained so it's always a quick service for me to get a pedi which I kinda hate lol. Would def come back unless I found a spa that massaged feet longer haha. read more

Was in Durham for a quick business trip. Decided to try this place out as it was near my hotel and based on yelp review. Great job. Manicure for $14; plenty of colors to choose from; place is clean; there is a large screen TV tuned into a gossip channel. The take appointments or walk-ins. Each station is for a particular employee, and they display their license and family photos. Very nice. They didn't point out the nail drying station and so I stayed at the station with the little fan to dry off my nails (this was late and there were no other customers), but I wish they would have told me - they shouldn't assume everyone is a local customer. read more

I went for the premium pedicure. They did a good job and were attentive. They did a 10 minute calf massage and paraffin wax with a little bit of a foot massage thrown in. Altogether what you would expect. The place was very busy when I went, so the atmosphere wasn't spa-like and tranquil, it was actually a bit noisy, with other customers chatting on phones, etc. Seems to be a popular place to go in S. I had such a bad experience at Luxury Nail Salon on Fayetteville Rd. in Durham I just have to share as I've never written a bad review on anything before as this truly was such an outrageous experience! . They didn't deserve the 1 star I gave them. I brought my just turned 14 year daughter in for a french manicure and semi french pedicure (she didn't want the soak and scrub on her feet) for her 8th grade graduation last week. She's only had one before as she's not into getting her nails done, but wanted to look her best for graduation the following day as she was also giving a speech. After waiting at least 15 minutes they finally sat her in a pedicure chair (without the water as we were again not looking for a full pedicure). We then waited another 15-20 minutes. I would have left but it was late the eve before her graduation and she just wanted to get it done. When they were finally ready they told her that a french manicure would not last and would begin to chip if she took a shower before her graduation. I was puzzled as I've gotten many many french manicures over the years and it typically lasts just as long if not longer than straight polish because of the extra clear coats they typically put over with the white tips. My daughter said it was OK if it didn't last as she just wanted it to look good the next day for graduation. They continued to say it was "no good because their products were not good for that". Yes I swear they actually said that! In the meantime the woman next to us was getting a french pedicure and I asked why it was OK for her and not my daughter and they said because it was the toes and not hands. My daughter then agreed to pick out a color since they just would not give her a french mani/pedi. We handed her the color then she just started painting my daughters nails with it- no base coat, no soaking the hands and not filing etc. I reminded her that she wanted a full manicure and that her nails needed to be cleaned and filed first. She then removed the polish she had just put on then walked away and sat another customer and started doing her nails. I was stunned to say the least as this was supposed to be a special mom/ daughter experience as we explained when we first walked in that this was something special my daughter wanted to do for her graduation. I asked why the woman just walked away and that I was upset we waited 35 min. then all this and she replied, "you don't listen to me ask you can leave now"! I told her she was the most unprofessional person I had ever met and couldn't believe she could treat us that way- than left. We then drove across town and went to my usual salon after which was about to close, but when they saw my daughter and I they said "no problem please come in" I said she wanted a french mani-pedi but was told it wouldn't last and they said " no that's not true, it lasts longer than regular mani and proceeded to do her nails. I never said a word about what had just happened to us as my daughter asked me not too. It's a week later and her nails still look perfect with the exception of one finger that has a small chip. I am also going to report them the better business bureau as this was just too outrageous. Please do not give then any business! read more

I've been going here for quite some time. But I can now write about two terrible experiences. You've been warned. First, gel fill in with design. The design was a simple line design. I asked the tech if she could do it, she said yes. I wish I had of taken a picture of what was done, but I asked her to remove it immediately. Since it was gel she had to file off the nail art and proceeded to apply the main color on some nails to cover up the filing. And others she did not. Went back for two pedicures for my husband and myself. I should have learned my lesson the first time. 12:30 appointment. Walked in at 12:35. They then proceeded to tell another young man who had been waiting to come back because we had appointments. Terrible customer service. I thought to run out and get this young man because that was very unprofessional but I didn't. They sat us in the chairs around 12:40. Proceeded my husbands pedicure and finished but had not started mine. My water was cold I asked for hot water and was told to complain to who I am assuming is the owner or manager. They handled several customers very oddly today and for that, we will not return. read more

I wish I had checked the reviews before I went to this place. I went on the recommendation of a girl working at Express who had beautiful gel nails done at Solar Salon, but said she wouldn't go back because they were very overpriced at $35 for gel polish (no change, no manicure). So, she recommended her usual nail salon, which is Luxury. She said it was affordable. Well, you get what you pay for. My regular nail salon could not get me in that day and my nails desperately needed to be redone, so I went for it. As soon as I walked in, I was practically choking on the smell of acetone, and I should have left right then and there. The lady who did my nails was obviously in a hurry and annoyed about something, as she kept huffing and puffing. And she took a cigarette break while my nails were soaking, so I had the joy of smelling cigarette smoke on top of the acetone while I was getting my manicure. It was done quick, haphazard, and sloppy. I am quite certain I will need to get these redone within a week, and I won't even go back to get them to fix it, because it isn't even worth that. She filed and buffed my nails so roughly, that upon putting them into the UV lamp, they were on fire for the first few seconds. Not to mention, the cleanliness of the place left a lot to be desired, with nail dust everywhere, & their washcloths/towels were old, ratty, and dingy. I'm not sure the tools she used were sterilized, as she opened up a large plastic box full of tools to select one. Truly, I should have walked right back out the door before I let them do my nails, and I regret not doing so. I will not be back. read more

The last time I came I got a man who took 2 smoke breaks in the middle of doing my full set. He reeked of cigarette smells and his breath smelled so bad!!! It was VERY unprofessional !!!! So when I went last week, I was getting my nails done and the lady stopped twice to do waxing services or whatever she did in that back room! I was so upset! They never ONLY pay attention to you! I'm originally from Raleigh and usually get my nails done there, but I'm go to school in Durham so I've been looking for a nail salon in that area. They did have a good selection of service, and the receptionist was very nice. Those are really the only positive things I have to say about it. I waited for an hour for my pedicure to start even though they weren't extremely busy, it was done very quickly and the polish wasn't perfect, but thats not even my biggest complaint. I got the worst nail polish I've ever gotten. The color is on my cuticles, needs to have another coat bc you can literally see my nail, when I asked him to fix his mistake he got ANNOYED WITH ME like it was my fault. Also I asked them for some nail designs in the very beginning and then when it came time to do it, he told me I couldn't get what I asked for. That had me very upset because now the whole design was ruined. At that point I was so upset I let him finish, payed, and went to Raleigh to get my nails done the right way. I went here because it is located right next to my house. It was a horrible experience, and I thought that it was just because of that particular day, however I kept going back for several fill-ins and waxes and it seemed as though they got ruder and ruder each time. Not only does only the owner actually speak English, but all of the employees, including the owner, try to force you to get your nails done a certain way. They also do not inform students of discounts, and one of the employees actually told me himself that the other employees try to suck people out of their money and overcharge them. He told me personally that I was overcharged several times and he gave me his personal cell phone number to call him when I wanted to have my nails filled in. After that time I just wanted to get my gels removed completely. I had chipped most of them off (very easily might I add) myself so I just need a few more to be removed. When I went in, that guy who gave me his cell phone number was the one who removed my gels. Even though I told him repeatedly that it was extremely painful because he was basically ripping off my nails he just laughed at me and told me to stop being so weak. They charged me 10 dollars for that horrible experience. Overall, the gels were horrible: chipping the day after, and way too thick. When I went in a time or two to get them fixed, they were very rude and charged me to fix a couple nails, even though they were the ones that did a dreadful job. As for the waxes, I have been to other places and they do a wonderful job, yet I went here because it is very close to my house. The girl who did them both times I went did a HORRIBLE job, and despite the owner telling me it cost $45, she charged me $60 and when I tried to question her she didn't budge. I threw away money going to this salon with the hopes of it improving, but it only got worse. In summary, they do a HORRIBLE job on gels, waxes, and overcharge you. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. read more
