Today was my first pedicure at Luxury Nails Spa in many years. I said I'd never go back there, but I did. I needed a pedi and they do walk-ins Natra did a very good job and I will come back just for her. She found the perfect color for me, after I searched through lots of the wrong shade. The atmosphere, however, is far from relaxing. The owner or manager sat next to me on the massage chair the entire time watching her phone very loudly. Bring your earplugs if you want to relax. Do not come here. My friend and I booked appointments for 5:30, we weren't taken until 6:30. Knowing that the holiday season is busy, we chose to stay - she was getting gel and I was getting tip and dip. The man who painted our nails (also works the front desk) was extremely rude to us, as he made it very apparent that he did not wish to be there. After rushing through my friend's gel (using less coats than usual AND the wrong color), it was my turn. I had asked for tip as my natural nails were very short, which he did not do and just went straight to dipping my natural nails. He also did not cut nor file prior to dipping them. He did two coats messily and was very obviously rushing to make the 7:00 close. To top it all off, he got a fight with another employee as we were walking out. read more

DUUUUDDDEEEEE - all of these bad reviews are old and must have been due to other management because I came here yesterday on a whim and couldn't have had a better experience! I'm pretty picky when it comes to nails and this place did not disappoint! It kills me inside that there are so many bad ratings because it's definitely not a reflection of what this place is today. My cuticles were very thoroughly and accurately cut, my nails are the perfect shape, the color is polished consistently and evenly, and they were friendly both when I came by and also when I called in prior with a question. They were patient when it was time to polish and I was still waffling on colors. I'll be honest, I almost didn't go in because of the reviews. After all, that's why we check reviews before we go, right? Boy, I'm so glad I didn't listen and went anyway - don't let these reviews sway you! Come in, give it a shot, so you can write them a glowing review too! (Side note: even with the unrecommended reviews, the newer ones are more positive, so I promise I'm not the only one who's happy with the more current service.) read more

I am not sure why there are so many bad reviews although most of them are more than 2 years old. Maybe they went under new ownership, maybe not. I went on May 4th for a Deluxe Pedi and a shellac Mani. When I arrived I was greeted by the owner and was sent to meet with Narath. Everyone there is very friendly and professional. The place is clean, The massage pedi chairs are great. The pedicure was amazing, she literally spent an hour on my feet and it was VERY relaxing. She took her time with my nail perfecting everything. Here we are, May 25th and my nails and toes have not chipped once. The shellac is still perfect. I am going to schedule the same thing for this weekend and I will definitely be coming back here! I would say ignore all the Groupon buyers on this link and try them out. Ask for Narath, she is really great and knows what she is doing. read more

Again, came here with a groupon. The salon pedicure was damn good. Very relaxing and a great job done. They have a good selection of OPI colors and they just worked on my toes for almost an entire hour! It even came with a salt scrub, a leg mask, and something else. I was happy he didn't rush at all. Shellac manicures are dry manicures, which I prefer. They didn't do it dry the whole way, which I found to be weird. The guy also shaped my nails to be square, which I don't like. I wish he had asked me because I would have told him to keep them round. I'll know to speak up next time. I thought manicurists always asked, but I didn't realize what had happened until after. I also like that they use real CND colors, none of that knock off crap. The color is so bright&shiny and still awesome over a week later. Overall, good experience. I like it. read more

I keep trying to like it here! First visit was horrible, second not too bad. I tried 4 times in total. Manicure and pedicure weren't horrible, but very difficult to communicate. Here's what really bugs me. The OWNER sits on the phone speaking loudly and its very distracting. Very little concern for the client's. Its always hot and stuffy, they never put on air and keep front door wide open. Andover street is VERY noisy. first visit about 2 weeks ago was my first & it was amazing. my mother & i both got acrylics, i got a gel refill & she got a full set. the other night i was in the mall & stopped at another nail salon because it was convenient at the time (big mistake) & the ladies at luxury fixed my nails for me the next day & were very understanding of the fact that i needed help because the other nail salon butchered me. the lady was very careful not to cut me because the other refill was so high up on my fingers. she fixed the polish & smoothed all of the bumps for me & i left very happy. they also got my lovely man to get his nails worked on too which was great because he always refused. thanks so much. 10/10 recommend. read more

I was reluctant to go here because of the low reviews, but it was so conveniently located and I really wanted my eyebrows done. As a walk-in, they took me right away. She spent about 10-15 minutes waxing my eyebrows. The price was great! Everywhere else I've gotten my eyebrows done usually rushed in 5, and I've been burned before, so I was very happy to have had a good experience here. read more

I have been going to Holly for a couple of years now. I have been very happy with my manicures, pedicures and facials. However, my favorite indulgence is to have my hair washed and styled by Holly. She does an unbelievable head massage when she washes my hair. Totally relaxes me when I'm having a stressed out day! I make sure to stop in for a shampoo and head massage before any important event. I bought the Groupon for the 3 mani/pedi.... and it's true what people say some things are just too good to be true. They have no appointments available and the owner is extremely rude and not accommodating at all. She told me she sold 400 Groupons and is booked, seems to me like she got in over her head. Now I have nothing against Groupon and I would still recommend them to everyone, just to be clear. :) The one time I did get an appointment a friend and I went and the owner did my friends nails and they were awful. The owner did not seem to know how to do a shellac manicure, the nail polish was bubbling and instead of starting over and removing the polish she filed of the bad spot and just covered it up. The owner was incredibly nasty to me and refused to start my pedicure until I found the actual Groupon, even though I showed her e-mail proof of having purchased one. Please save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! My friend and I got a groupon for this place and had a terrible experience. The place is filthy- as in tumbling dustballs and dirty food dishes. The groupon they sold was for a manicure and paraffin wax but when u get there, they tell you that the paraffin will ruin your manicure (because they will only do it AFTER the manicure). They generously offer to charge you more money to do gels. The WORST part is that they re-use the paraffin!! There is a small container of paraffin full of dust, debris, and other people's skin slough! Gross! read more

Very poor customer service. Had a groupon which is how I thought of trying this place. The coupon was already redeemed as I had used 2/3 services of the coupon. I had my last appointment on 4/30 as the lady kept saying she was all booked out. On the way to the salon for my appointment, I got into a small accident and got late. I called up the salon to ask if it was worth coming in from the area where I was stuck. The lady said she was also running busy and we could reschedule for later. I thought that was reasonable as I would have been at least 20 min late if I went in. I called in the next day for an appointment only to be told that the coupon had expired and she would not use it any longer. Additionally, she was rude enough to say that the third service was just a bonus and I should be happy after having received received services twice. Really ? Why advertise it that way then ! It seemed to me that she was unhappy that I had a voucher to use. Moreover, when I argued that she had already redeemed my voucher from Groupon for 3 rounds of services which was not true, she seemed annoyed. This in spite of the fact that I had tipped well for my prior services (25 and 30 USD) I live in the area and could have been a potential long term customer if only they had a better customer service ! I have never not been "accomodated" for unforeseen events. Would not bother to go there, plenty of better places around in the North Shore fortunately ! read more

This was by far the worst nail salon experience and worst customer service experience I've ever had! The manager, who was doing my shellac manicure, was rude, combative, and really lacked proper manicuring skills. She was also doing two manicures at the same time, alternating between the two of us, which was a first for me and led to some pretty poor results. By the time I pulled my hands out of the UV tray I realized that my nails were all shaped differently, bits of jagged nail filings and cotton fibers had been shellaced into the tips, and there was shellac run-off all over my cuticles! Don't let me forget to mention that this woman had me and the other manicure customer working our own UV timers while she alternated between us AND she made the next customer in line take off her own nail polish while she waited!! I considered forgoing the pedicure that I had bought as a package with a groupon, but decided to stay since someone beside the manager would be doing it. It would have been a decent pedicure except that manager got into a shouting match with her next manicure customer which made the entire place feel awkward and uncomfortable and lasted the entire length of my pedicure. All in all, I would not recommend going to this place unless that awful woman had the day off! read more

I came in because I live close by and thought this would be a convenient place. I was dead wrong. When we got there, my friend and I had both wanted acrylics. After seeing how uneven she'd made my friend's nails, I changed my mind and went for a regular French instead. The moment I said I didn't want to do the acrylics or the shellac, the owner completely ignored me. After about 20 more minutes and her taking more customers who had come in after me, she finally started the manicure. She barely buffed the nails at all and left cuts in my skin when trimming the cuticles - which she barely trimmed at all. Then without a word to me the whole time, she had an assistant start painting. The assistant didn't say a word the whole time either. She painted half of my nail sloppily white - I'm talking 5 year old caliber. She then disappeared downstairs for about 10 minutes. I was about to get up and leave, but then she came up - ignored me - and went over to the owner, who told her to put me under the dryer. Thankfully she didn't, and the owner "finished" my nails. She asked if I wanted the white thick or thin, and I said thin. She sighed and said "she should have asked you before putting this much on" and made them thick anyway. Then when I got put under the dryer, they didn't say anything or even turn the fan on. Finally we left without so much as a "Thanks for coming in" or anything. My friends experience was just as bad - we'll never come back again, which is unfortunate as I'm getting married and need to find a good place to get my nails done for the wedding. read more

I recently moved to this area from NH and was looking for a nice place to get my manicure and pedicures. I had tried a few other places and was less than thrilled with results. I stopped at Luxury Nail Spa & Salon and was very happy with the result of my manicure there. Davy the owner did my nails and it was nice that she actually listened to what I wanted. My nails looked great and the shellac manicure I had done was wonderful. I have since gone back 3 or 4 times and am happy to now call this my regular nail salon. read more

2 hours I was there are you kidding me!! I should have known when I called to book my appointment and the owner was rude no customer service skills at all but since I had already bought the Groupon I went...I waited a month for an appointment so I figured it would be the best damn Mani/Pedi ever . NOT! I admit as soon I walked in I was attended however I was in the Pedi chair for an 1hr and the inexperienced teenager did not know how to even file, then the owner painted my toes then the teenager gave me a Mani again, she could not file and chopped off my longgg nails into stubs and filed them to a sharp 90 degree angle I had to at one point take the file myself.(this took another hour)...All the while the owner is unloading to a customer about how rude customers are and starts giving the lady specific examples of situations "I cannot work miracles lady" and "how dare they post things online"...The owner did my shellac (note this is the 3rd time Ive had to move to another station) It was horrible I was so mad I wanted to cry. It was globbed up and my finger was glued to my stubby nail. Im stuck with this for 2-3weeks...I have been in the customer service industry for 7yrs and know it can trying at times therefore I never in my life leave without tipping but this was an exception I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Like a lot of the reviews here I bought a groupon. I wish I had read this first! I bought a groupon for myself and a friend. I called and made an appoint for the same day. We show up and they made us pay ahead of time. Refused to seat us until they saw the groupon. The color selection was horrible and very limited. The room was so cold, later the owner told us that the landlord was a jerk and refused to clean the oil burner so she wouldn't use his heat! Pay to clean it yourself then rather then getting a tiny space heater which didn't help. The pedicure was fine even tho the massage chair violated us. An hour later we get up to get our manicures. My cuticles were cut so bad I was bleeding and a day later my fingers are sore. We had to wait over 20 minutes for them to approach us to do the paraffin dip. The entire time the owner talked about death or upgrading to a shellac with a french tip. It was the worst mani/pedi I have ever gotten in my life. Less than 24 hours later my nails are chip and I have a cold. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

Had a Groupon for a Shellac manicure and luxury pedicure. First time I called to get an appointment they were rude and didn't have any open times. I finally go in and actually had the owner working on me and she was somewhat friendly. She hardly soaked my feet in the water at all. She had them both out most of the time. Not a great callus scrub either. The only good thing about the pedicure was the mask stuff she put on my legs and feet. The shellac manicure was worse. She kept stopping so she could make calls to get clients to come in earlier. She was rough on the cuticles and rushed through the painting. I was taking excess shellac off my fingers the rest of the day. And it started coming off in a couple days anyway. If they wanted to do a Groupon to get new business then they should have done a better job. read more

I will NEVER patronize this salon and got my money back from Groupon and gave a poor rating. They need to hire a nice receptionist. The hairdresser (Owner) is rude and doesn't know how to talk to people. She complains the whole time that she doesn't make any money and complains about her life. She told me that if I lost weight I would get a boyfriend. She did a facial on a friend and burnt her face in several areas. I will NVR go back there. I bought a groupon that allowed me to go three times,I called to schedule an appointment and they were giving me a hard time saying they had absolutely no times available which is crap because later i got a call from someone else saying I could come, and the first time I went, a seventeen year old girl with basically no experience did my nails and they were ok but the shellac started coming off three days later so I was very unhappy, the second time my experience was better but also because I got someone else. The third time I tried calling which is 11 days before the end of the month, the girl on the phone told me they had absolutely no times at all for the rest of the month. I find that very hard to believe. She was very rude and completely unhelpful. Their customer service is terrible. I will never be coming back there again! read more

My experience was HORRIBLE. I bought a groupon for a friend and I before we were supposed to go out for my birthday. We ended up being there for 3 hours! The owner kept telling me to do shellac even though I told her I didn't want shellac but ended up using shellac top coat with regular polish underneath (which I wasnt't aware would make them crack and chip off within 24 hours). The girl who did my manicure before they were painted was in high school and did not cut my cuticles AT ALL! and it took over a half hour for her to cut my cuticles and file my nails! The pedicure was very good, no complaints there. I returned to inform the owner of my manicure and describing her as rude is an understatement. She said she would only paint them not do the manicure or design. She also told me that it was my fault that my nails chipped and accused me of washing my hands too much. This was the worst experience I have ever had at any business in my 33 years. Rude and unprofessional business owner. Dealt with the same Groupon related issues that all other reviewers have posted about and couldn't get in before it expired even though I tried for an early evening appointment for three weeks. She even had the nerve to go on and on about how she makes no money from the Groupon deal and it is not fair. Would not honor her own online special with the value from the expired Groupon for this reason. When I asked for the OPI color I always wear I was told they were all on the wall and to look for something similar if I couldn't find it. The pedicure was done by one of her daughters who tried very hard but appeared extremely nervous and shaky. Towels are all from the hair salon they also run so were covered in hair dye...not the spa pedicure I was lookign for. Not the worst pedicure ever but not the best especially since it is not the right color. Manicure done by the owner was rushed and awful. There are spot where she applied so much polish and then hardened it that it has pooled near the nail edge and is already lifting...I had this manicure done 15 hours ago!!! Icing on the cake...she used the same tools that she had just used on me to clip her own cuticles while my nails were curing in the UV dryer. I try to be as fair as possible in reviewing businesses as I understand the difference between an off day and just plain poor customer service. I just moved to the area and decided to try them out for a facial. I had to wait 20 minutes which was gone as I didn't call for an appointment. The space downstairs where they do facials was very pretty and very comfy. The facial itself was pretty nice and relaxing. she explained that she would use 3 masks & explained the purpose for each one. The bizarre part was that when she put on each mask, she would leave the room for the 10 minutes while it dried. Maybe I've been spoiled but most other places that I've been to for facials have done either an arm/hand/neck/shoulder massage during the down time of facial while waiting for masks to set or steam machine to heat up. Sometimes even hot stone massages which are heaven. Again, maybe my previous places were so great they set me up for disappointment! But if I'm being honest I wouldn't return. She then proceeded to ask me if she could wax my brows which I happily complied as I needed it. Then she said "ill do right here for you" touching a little part of my cheek/lip. I said "okay" and she proceeded to charge me for it. It cost 65 plus 15 tip so 80 total. I purchased the groupon as well, hoping to have found a new salon to frequent. Yeah right. All I heard from the owner was how rude the groupon customers are, how much money she lost on them. Well, the first time, I brought my friend and paid for her to have a mani/pedi and a brow wax. I also tip very well, and get french so I pay extra for that. I do not need to be told how I do not bring her any money. She has her underage daughters who I am sure are not licensed or properly trained do pedicures. The owner herself did my nails the last time, and it was THE WORST manicure I have ever had. She cut every finger on my cuticles, and I had shellac all over my fingers. She claims to have worked for Chanel...oh I am sure. The point of a groupon is to try and get new customers but the way she treats them I will be surprised if any go back. I will not. I was insulted at how she complained about groupon customers. She was rude each time I called to make an appointment. She told me she was booked for two weeks, then called back to say she had a cancellation. While I was in there she took to phone in for appointments that hour. She was NOT booked, she just doesn't want to honor anymore groupons. The money I saved with the groupon is not worth the aggravation and poor service I received. Also, her teenage daughter that rang me up some how shorted me out of $10 while making change.
