It takes 2 minutes to walk there to visit where I ALWAYS find him clean, well shaven, well fed (by loving caregivers) and content. He has been there almost 4 years and I have not had one negative thing to say about his care. You may find a newer building, a more prestigious address, but you will not find another retirement community that affords the outstanding home that is Freedom Village.

Every single person that works there is extremely friendly and goes out of their way to accommodate from the guy that just comes in and checks on Mom to make sure she's getting up to go have her meals to the nursing staff and even the incredibly nice maintenance guy. Upon transitioning to Newport Senior Living, all these concerns were resolved. The facility is unbelievable clean, with a separate bedroom and bathroom for each resident. The "family room" is warm, organized and inviting. The staff is caring and professional. They provide individual attention to each resident. The term resident isn't actually correct, as the residents and staff became like family members. The food is excellent. They provide consistent care and have a back-up plan in case a staff member can't work. The grounds are beautiful and allow for activities, like gardening. Each week, chair exercise sessions are held. They plan special birthday parties and activities throughout the week and holidays. From a professional perspective, all-important qualities include professionalism, reliability, integrity, communication skills and being a team player. The Newport Senior Living staff provides this. I have called four times to get the electrical outlet in my parking space to work. They have come out each time, and it hasn't been fixed. I am paying a very high amount for being able to charge and have to go elsewhere and pay to charge! My neighbors and I have talked to the landscaping manager and his assistant four times and sent two letters with pictures and still, after three years, we cannot get our slope landscaped as are all the others. It has actually not been landscaped in ten years. At this point I think we are each going to have to take the HOA to small claims court. They have been out at least three times in the last year and a half and made promises to do it. The second in command, Megan has been rude to me and other neighbors, for just making requests. Their treatment has shown no respect or care at least in the landscaping and repair areas.
