WOW! I've never had a microdermabrasion before, let alone a diamond one! Roxanne was great! She really knew what she was doing...and she informed me each time of what to expect next. My BF bought me this living social coupon since he knew that I enjoyed facials and massages. I didn't know what to expect! I parked on bethel street and walked over to the corner of beretania and bishop. There is a parking garage, but I'm not sure how much it is, but since it was a holiday I scored free street parking! The building is a little older, but once you're inside Luxz (ring the door bell if it's locked), it's very clean and modern. Newly painted, new floor, comfy furniture, and clean bathroom. Roxanne explained to me what was going to happen and showed me the diamond tool that she was going to use. I sat in what looked like a comfy version of a dentist chair (reclining chair with thick blankets). I got under the blanket and Roxanne put a pillow underneath my legs. She started with a cleanser and then the microdermabrasion. It felt like a cat licking me, not rough, but a gentle grit on my face (she was using the fine grit). Afterwards, she showed me the filter that collected my dead skin and YUCK! It was filled with dead skin! GROSS! She put in another filter and did a little more. She then sprayed some vitamin serum into my skin, into my pores, underneath the upper layer. It was cold and ticklish, but felt really great and hydrated! She finished with some moisturized with SPF, some eye serum, and something else....I felt great! She offered me this great deal: another hour for the same price that the coupon was for! I prepaid and will be there either next month or in 2 months! Def felt my face smoother! After this, I"m NEVER going back to facials! This technique is great! It sucks up your dead skin, can get into white and black heads....so it's an extraction and exfoliation in one...with the infusion of nutrients into the skin, not just at the top layer like facials! Awesome experience at Luxz, Roxanne was delightful and knowledgeable. I bought a social coupon for a microdermabrasion but after arriving and talking to Roxanne she suggested that I go and get a Osmosis Non-Chem Facial Infusion. I was very happy that she was very detailed with what she was doing and constantly asked me how I was feeling during the process. I also felt cared for and felt that she catered to my needs. I left with a bottle of water and a few other products that Roxanne gave me to hold me till my next appointment. Ive been a client of Roxanne's for years, alternating the Intraceuticals oxygen facials and the Microcurrent with Elastin infusion. I try to make it to see her at least once a month when my schedule permits and my skin just keeps getting better with Roxanne's treatments and the products that she carries :-) I just tried Luxz's osmosis Non-chemical peel and loved it! Fortunately I didn't peel although Roxanne did inform me that some people do. I even had a bronze look throughout the day as the treatment continued to work throughout the day :-) Luxz is a salon like no other. Definitely value added service to treatments that only expensive hotel spas are providing, yet not nearly as thorough a facial or consistent as you get from Luxz. It's like getting the results of a Medispa treatment without the high costs. And in regards to a negative comment that someone posted here about Luxz not giving a nice answer, I feel that is a misinterpretation. In the years I have been a client of Luxz, roxanne has always been very open, honest and realistic about recommendations and results. Of course you can't always please everybody, but for what it's worth, i feel that Roxanne is one of the nicest estheticians I've ever encountered and she is full of great advice for skin troubles, which makes Luxz treatments even more beneficial. read more

Results vary from person to person but for my boyfriend and I, we felt and saw the benefits instantly from the microdermabrasion and elastin infusion package. Roxanne is very friendly as well as knowledgable. She makes you feel at home and like your family. Her office is immaculate, my boyfriend described it as a "five star hotel", he felt like he had to take off his slippers to walk inside because it was so clean and nice! I bought the package from groupon and redeemed it a few months back. It was about to expire yet Roxanne accommodated me and let me use it even after the expiration date. Roxanne is amazing! I went to Luxz a few weeks ago for my first micodermabrasion appointment and I loved it. She made me feel extremely comfortable and explained everything to me during my facial treatment. It felt so good and my face felt so clean. I already have another appointment in a few weeks at Luxz to try the non chemical peel. The parking was easy! I parked in the parking garage of the building and since it was a Sunday, the parking was free! The spa is decorated beautifully and it is nice and intimate. I have been seeing Roxanne for facials for nearly a year now, after finding her through an online coupon deal. She is AMAZING. I rarely used to get facials (they can be expensive and I'm a private school teacher (aka practically broke all the time) and I didn't see lasting results from them before), but I go to her every two months now. Not difficult to find, but I'm not a frequent flier of downtown so I got here early thinking I could just wait until my appointment time. Don't do that. There is nowhere to wait and you'll get scolded if you wait in the hallway. So you'll need to sit outside the building like you're in a timeout. How embarrassing. I guess I can blame my obsessive/compulsive hatred of being late on that. I was determined not to let that ruin my experience! When I did get back up to the 12th floor at my scheduled time, I knocked on the door and was greeted by Roxanne. The ambiance in the room is inviting and relaxing and I felt very comfortable and at ease. I filled out a short questionnaire about my skin, my habits and goals for my skin. As the other reviews state, Roxanne showed me the instrument she would be using for the microdermabraision as well as explained the process for the microcurrent treatment I would also be getting. During the treatments I was very comfortable and relaxed, Roxanne asked me questions and was genuinely interested in my answers, she was very professional and kind. I had purchased a Living Social voucher for the microcurrent with elastin infusion at an exceptional deal. We were in the state of Hawaii for 2 weeks but on The Big Island a majority of the time so my time on Oahu was limited. Roxanne worked with me back and forth scheduling and unscheduling . Absolutely Amazing! Upon entering Luxz, Roxanne greets you with a warm smile and friendly demeanor and kindly asks if you would like a beverage. Scanning the quaint lobby, you notice how clean and luxurious the waiting area is with all the beautiful little details in the décor, which instantaneously provides you with a sparkly feast for your eyes.
