The problem was diagnosed, a part was ordered, and I popped by again when I was back in town to get the service done. It turned out the code the reader gave them was not the right one, and despite the fact that the new part had already been installed, Mike and his team did more diagnostics, ran tests on the old part, reinstalled it, and didn't charge me a cent for the service. I expected to at least pay for the 6-8 hours of labor the mechanics did in trying to figure out what was going on, but Mike wouldn't let me pay or even let me tip! His reasoning? "You're paying me to fix your car, and we didn't fix your car." If you're looking for a reliable mechanic who will charge fair prices, get work done in a reasonable amount of time, won't try to upsell you on parts and services you don't need, and will be honest when he doesn't think he can help you, come to Pinecrest Automotive Center! First they tell me my drain plug is stripped and no one could get it out (3 different mechanics there supposedly tried). Previous oil changes, my drain plug would be removed manually with a wrench and had no reason to be stripped. They finally tell me they were able to get it out but with a power tool and showed me the stripped plug to tell me I needed a new one. The power tool definitely stripped it for this lie to be sold. That's when they said we will give you a free new one if you leave us a 5 star Google review and I had to do it in front of them. Then, guys proceeds to tell me the biggest lie yet. He says my oil pan had damaged threads and I will be have a big oil leak unless I pay $700 to install a new one at their shop. I say no thanks can't do that right now and leave. Over the next month and a half, I indeed had oil leak ruining my driveway. Eventually I got fed up and knowing nothing much about cars I got under my hood and saw immediately what happened. Took a video sent it to a mechanic friend and he confirmed. The oil filter had been left lose on purpose and oil was leaking all around it... the oil filter was wet with oil. I took it off put it back on night and tight this time and never had any more oil leaks. Shame on this auto shop for trying to scheme on me. Women should be able to go to auto shops alone and get honest prices and honest work done. This is beyond fucked up and I hope this business fails. If they did it because I had the Groupon, take your listing off of Groupon then. People who are struggling and looking for discounts can't afford to be lied to and forced into a money grab scheme. Any business willing to do this dirty shit is the problem in Miami. Do not trust this business. If you're a man and you're knowledgeable you may get lucky. Otherwise, you're risking it coming here. Miami, FL for what should have been a routine air conditioner repair covered under warranty. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment was nothing short of a nightmare, leaving me frustrated, disappointed, and questioning their integrity. First and foremost, their inability to properly fix my car's air conditioner is a testament to their lack of expertise and commitment to quality service. After leaving my car with them for what I hoped would be a quick fix, and a $1.300 bill, It's bewildering to think that a supposedly reputable car repair shop could fail to diagnose and repair such a basic issue, especially considering their supposed qualifications. What made matters worse was their audacity to attempt to charge me additional fees for repairs and claim that I now need new tires (unrelated issue). It's not only unethical but also demonstrates a complete disregard for their customers' rights and trust. I had to fight tooth and nail to avoid being scammed out of my hard-earned money for repairs that should have come at no extra cost to me. The customer service at Doug's Auto repair was also abysmal. The staff exhibited a dismissive and apathetic attitude towards my concerns, making it clear that they were more interested in making a quick buck than in rectifying their mistakes. Judging by the number of cars parked all over the place my story seems to be the norm. The place is dirty and unorganized.
