I recently had my car serviced at Pinecrest Automotive Center, and even though the problem wasn't fixed I'm still giving them 5 stars -- here's why: I went by a few months ago for an oil change and asked if they could take a look at a light that had been on in my 2018 Wrangler for some time. The problem was diagnosed, a part was ordered, and I popped by again when I was back in town to get the service done. It turned out the code the reader gave them was not the right one, and despite the fact that the new part had already been installed, Mike and his team did more diagnostics, ran tests on the old part, reinstalled it, and didn't charge me a cent for the service. I expected to at least pay for the 6-8 hours of labor the mechanics did in trying to figure out what was going on, but Mike wouldn't let me pay or even let me tip! His reasoning? "You're paying me to fix your car, and we didn't fix your car." If you're looking for a reliable mechanic who will charge fair prices, get work done in a reasonable amount of time, won't try to upsell you on parts and services you don't need, and will be honest when he doesn't think he can help you, come to Pinecrest Automotive Center! We were visiting some friends in Miami and while my husband was driving he hit the bumper. So I googled the closest mechanic. Something came off. We got here my husband told Mike and he said I kno exactly what happened, he called Chris over and asked to help us real quick. They were so fast and was able to see us and then Mike didn't even wanna charge us!!!!!! He was honest and helpful so we tried to give money so instead we gave it to Chris as a tip since they wouldn't take our payment. I highly highly highly recommend this business. I've brought my cars in for a few minor repairs here over the years and Mike always takes good care of me for a reasonable price. I had two new tires put on my Nissan Rogue today at a different place because that's where the tirerack.com sent them. The Tire Choice said all sorts of things were wrong with my car: bad battery, front tires needed replacing, bad struts, bad shocks, etc, etc. I didn't trust what they were saying so I dropped by Pinecrest Auto on my way home for a second opinion. Mike was super nice, took a look at my front tires, and said "no those tires are fine, you have a couple more years on them". He didn't try to sell me anything even if he could have made some money. My ex had a broken belt and brought it to Mike's. 2009 Murano. A mechanic looked at it and determined the alternator was bad too. After fixing both at over $1200, the car now drives with no AC (working before) and a severely bad power steering pump leak (not leaking before). Mike determined that it was the belt and alternator that made these bad. And now wants an extra $2000 to repair both. How come those problems weren't noticed when the car was dropped off? How come they weren't noticed when the car was "fixed" We are so thankful he gave us a "free" diagnosis to charge us again. Why doesn't the mechanic drive the car after to make sure everything is ok? How does one get the car back in worse shape? And why didn't the original diagnosis's catch the pump, which was fine before? Mechanics are shady, we thought Mike was different. He doesn't work on the cars anymore, and they don't drive them after to make sure everything is ok. Once a great place, now just your typical Miami mechanic. read more

I was looking to get an oil change during lunch when I had a couple of hours to spend between appointments. I am so happy I found pinecrest automotive center! Everything was easy and comfortable, from beginning to end. Seriously, I don't usually write reviews but you can tell that the owner Michael cares very much about his business and his customers. I went to the office where I met Tamar, and she introduced me to Michael who agreed to do the (unscheduled!) oil change for me and to try to get me out as soon as possible. The office was comfortable while I waited (Tamar even offered me drinks and when she went out for lunch asked if I wanted anything!!) These people are very professional and very friendly. I have a nice little sticker reminding me when to get my next oil change. I live in Brickell but I will wait until I'm out in pinecrest again to get my oil changed here. I've had my car for less than 2 Months and brought it in today for an oil change. I left to have lunch while they worked on it and Tamara calls me to tell me to come back because something happened but she doesn't know what and I just have to come in and find out. I tell her that she needs to tell me what happened now and she says the owner, Mike, just said for me to come back now and didn't tell her why or what happened. I tell her that HE should have called me himself to tell me what happened and to get him on the phone. Reluctantly she does and he tells me that they had my car up on a lift and they DROPPED it. When I get there, he shows me that the back left bumper and the front left panel is busted and something is hanging off the back of my front left wheel. I am pissed and he proceeds to tell me that things happen and what would I do if I had gotten into an accident and caused this damage? Would I be this upset if I had caused this damage myself? Wtf?!? I can't even believe that he said that to me? And he keeps telling me "but I'm putting you in a rental car" as if that is supposed to excite me. I tell him that he just reduced the value of my car because when I bought it 2 months ago, the carfax Report was clean and now it won't be. He said "I understand that but there is nothing that I can do about that." I asked him if he can do something to compensate for the loss of value that he just caused to my car and he says "no I can't do anything about that" I said "can you give me oil changes or something?" Especially since that was ALL I came here for was an oil change! He says " no I am NOT going to do that!" I ask him "you are the owner right?" He says "yes I am" and I tell him "I don't care about the money, I can pay for my own oil change, I just need you to do SOMETHING" He tells me flat out "well I am telling you now that I WILL NOT do that!" I said "ok then" and walked out to get my kids' car seats out of my car and get driven to enterprise to go pick up a rental car. I didn't want to ruin a 5 star review but WOW that is such a messed way to treat a customer regarding a mistake that YOU made. In the end, I am the one stuck holding this loss. The most expensive oil change I've EVER gotten! And I don't even think he changed the freakin' oil!! So now after waiting to have my car fixed, losing value in my car in relation to a "not clean" carfax, I will probably STILL have to go get an oil change and have to take it to a 3rd party mechanic to get it checked to make sure there wasn't any secondary damage done to the car when it was dropped from the lift. I bought a Toyota Sienna in pristine condition so that I WOULDN'T have to deal with mechanics!! This was the absolute WORSE! What was even worse than the " mistake " is how Mike dealt with it. Truly horrible customer service.. smh *Tammy from Pinecrest Automotive and Manny from Enterprise in Dadeland did a lot more to try to make this right than Mike, the owner who was responsible for the damage. I took my Lexus in for an oil change and Michael (my earthly Archangel), found that the valve cover gasket was leaking - which quickly explained why I had recently been smelling burning oil when I turned off the car. He not only changed my oil, rotated my tires, and replaced the leaky valve cover gasket, but he also discovered a wire which needed to replaced and replaced. I am not going to publicly disclose how much he charged me, but I will say I walked out of there with a smile on my face and a relieved heart. I came to change the oil on my 99 4runner here today and Mike the boss told me he had the same car as me. He said I didn't need to change it yet as it wasn't due for another 2k miles. I received the vehicle back before the end of the day. I have a feeling that even stayed open late just to complete the work. While in the garage I started talking with what I thought was an employee working the desk. We started talking and it turns out he was the owner.
