I attempted to book ChelanGlam for my wedding hair and makeup. Unfortunately, it never came to…read morefruition due to their lack of communication. It took nearly 2 weeks from my initial inquiry just to get sent a questionnaire. After filling that out, it took nearly 3 more weeks to hear back regarding estimates, and then yet another week to actually receive those estimates. After having to wait for almost 6 weeks, I was then told my estimate would expire in 7 days. Due to a family emergency that came up, I wasn't able to accept within that time frame. I reached back out shortly after, apologizing for the delay and asking if they could extend or resend the estimates. No response. After seeing photos of their work online, I was really looking forward to booking them, but that never happened. I realize they're a small company, but I don't understand why any of this communication would or should take THAT long. And even if they weren't able to resend my estimate for whatever reason, ANY response would have been appreciated over silence. I think it's a bit inconsiderate to make brides, who are actively trying to compare/book vendors, sit around forever in hopes of getting a reply. Ultimately, it worked out in the end. I booked someone else who responded promptly and had rates that I felt were more reasonable. (ChelanGlam quoted me a rate of $860 just for bride hair/makeup, plus trial, which was a few hundred dollars more than any other estimate I was given for the same services.)

My experience with Studio 16 was very disappointing. When I called to cancel, they wanted to charge me $300. Eventually, they agreed to charge $150, which would go toward a future appointment if I rescheduled. When my rescheduled appointment came around, my childcare fell through, so I changed the service from a foil to a trim so I could get home quickly. My stylist was nice, but the front desk still charged me another $85. When I asked the receptionist why I was being charged so much for just a wash and trim, on top of the $150 I had already paid, she became rude and dismissive. In total, I paid $235 for a wash and trim - not even blow dried. Their policies are incredibly rigid and not accommodating for mothers or for unexpected life situations. I understand that businesses have policies, but this felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed. I even called the owner before posting this review because I wanted to give her a chance to make things right. Unfortunately, she doubled down on the policies and offered nothing.
