My first visit to this restaurant based on a recommendation of a friend. It is a mix of Syrian and Lebanese cuisine. The food is absolutely outstanding and fresh. The service was fast and very attentive. I am only giving them four stars because our server did not provide us with any Napkins and when we asked, he brought us paper napkins when all the tables had soft napkins. Also, he did not bring us any salt or pepper orolive oil. Which is a staple of any at Eastern restaurant. If it was not for that exception, they would get five stars from me. read more

First time here while driving through Montreal we wanted n ie Arabic restaurant! They offer halal meat and a nice seating inside and outdoor patio. They also have Shisha which is not super kids friendly so we chose outside. Service was nice and best of all so fast! We got the drinks then appetizers and shortly after the main dish! For desserts and tea it took a bit longer but overall it was fast. Lylac has it all: from food to shishas to dessert. Not only can you go to Lylac on a study date, but you can also go on a family dinner or lunch. The menu selection is huge, their meat is outstanding and the potato fries are just out of this world. I would also recommend trying their pizzas. The portions are generous, the service is quick and friendly. The prices are also very reasonable for the portion and quality. You can also ask the waiter to bring you a deck of cards, or traditional board games. As the place is almost always full, I would definitely recommend calling first to make sure there's room for you, I believe you can also make reservations. One of my favourite places for good food and good ambience. We always take a variety of plates to share and usually at dinner. Tried it last time during lunch and the taouk I took was delicious. I have yet to try the brunch menu. A reservation is. Must on weekends so not to have a long wait. Prices are ok for what you get and the desert is to die for . One word to describe this place..it's different. Different, in the most amazing way possible. When I first walked in, I didn't have very high expectations seeing as it was also a lounge (and most lounges I've been to don't serve good food). But this place isn't just a lounge. Their Pizza Soujouk is really good, there are no words to describe it. Along with their garlic sauce, it's superb. As well as their chicken shawarma, just amazing. read more

So this place was good the food was fresh. The had wide variety of options for brunch or breakfast. There falafel was so good, the taste felt like it was authentic. But I would say the service is not as I accept the guys were rude. Not friendly at all. I asked for knafe the guy never put in my order and we wait for 20 mins. came to this place to get a hookah. me and my bro in law ended up ordering a grape flavored hookah. they served it with the cubical coals (first time I've seen this in montreal). hookah was ok. very strong, and it did become very harsh. made us a bit dizzy and made it a bit difficult to smoke. on the positive side the atmosphere here is AWESOME. tons of people. they have an amazing extension under a tent on the side. the scene is really good. haven't tried any of the food or anything. my score is strictly on the hookah though. read more

Here is the deal. If you like shisha you would love this place. I stopped smoking many years ago and even shisha is not on my list of entertainment anymore, but majority of the crowd I'm sporadically visiting Lylac with likes it so much, so I would guess the quality of the shisha is really good. Besides that Lylac offers really delicious and fresh Middle Eastern food, the prices of which are quite reasonable. The drinks list is fine, nothing to brag about, some beers, including Lebanese one and some cocktails, if you want wine by the glass you are not going to get it although it is on the menu, but there are two choices of small bottles of white. The service is not very fast and may be really chaotic, when the restaurant is busy. I really wish the decoration of the restaurant has more warmth and flavor from the region the cuisine of which it offers. Lylac is really of the beaten path for me and I wold not visit on my own because of the smoke. Although the food is great I would prefer to have a non smoking option when I'm with people who don't want shisha and this is a drawback for me. read more

I had wanted to try this place for a while and finally decided to give it a go! It's a great place to go if you're looking to hang out with friends but don't want to make a trip downtown! The price was very reasonable, service was quick, food was great, sheesha was great, and the staff was super friendly! We ordered drinks, Apple mint flavored sheesha, the zaatar pizza and fries - everything was great! Will definitely go back. Only down side was that one person ordered an iced tea and we got the can, maybe they can improve on that! read more
