I am a big fan of this restaurant group and this spot came close to my expectations. The room is big and has a good vibe. There were a lot of big parties so things were loud. The food was good, but not the 10/10 I expected. More like a 8/10. I tried the rotisserie chicken, and I probably would not order it again. The meat was on the drier side. The sauce made up for it. The best part of the meal was the cocktails and the dessert. The lemon meringue pie was amazing. Service was fast and friendly.

We dined here on Saturday November 16th for the first time. I heard about this place through social media - I loved the decor and spacious loft style. The menu has lots of comforting food options and baked goods which really drew me in. We made a last minute reservation for 2 people. The place seems to always be packed so I would not walk in for dinner unless you plan on eating before 5PM. There are many groups and parties when we arrived. We were seated at the bar which was cool since we had a view of the kitchen and easy access to staff so the service was exceptional. There was always someone refilling our glasses and cleaning away plates. We got the parker house rolls of bread with their garlic herb butter ($8)- this was warm, soft, delicious. Just wanted more of that butter - they should consider having a little extra cup for dipping. I got the schnitzel ($20) and my partner got the honey glazed ribs ($31).. The flavors and portions were adequate for main meals - these types of foods can get filling, however none of the main dishes come with sides so we opted for fries, an extra charge of $7. The food was very tasty, but the fries were on the dry/overly crispy side as these are thinly cut. We also got some deserts to go, tried two of their doughnuts and the brownie. These were all excellent. I really like the variety of baked goods and would consider coming for brunch to satisfy my sweet tooth with other options. In terms of vibe, service, food quality and flavor this was all great - there is even free parking which is convenient for this area. Only thing to make the meal better would be to include some type of side with the main meal, a small salad or fries would help round it out otherwise paying for everything separately can really add up.

Great Saturday lunch with the family just now. We were the first ones there at 11 am, but the restaurant filled up by 12. Very family friendly and seems like a popular destination for families with young children (at almost every table) and there are plenty of high chairs to go around. Their dishes are made for sharing and they also have daily specials. We opted for 3 specials: corn chowder poutine, salmon Benedict and a honey ricotta pistachio mortadella toast. We also ordered the country apple salad, beef tartare, roasted carrots with ricotta and hazelnuts and also the rigatoni with spicy vodka rose sauce. Everything was good. I've never seen my 2 year old eat so much. From the rigatoni to the apple salad, she munched away. We realized now that she likes endives with vinaigrette. For me the salad, tartare and rigatoni were standouts. Wife said it was her favorite meal of the weekend and we dined at both Candide and Mon Lapin.

Beat my expectations. The country salad was huge with fantastic shaved Hercule cheese. Chicken sandwich and chicken croquettes were both great. Finished off with giant chocolate chip cookies and they turned their cafe Americanos into iced. Good service. Much less crowded than expected.

This restaurant blew me out of the park! The ambiance is absolutely wonderful: amazing decor, greenery and table setups. The wait staff was absolutely amazing and it warmed my heart to see the staff was eating together to celebrate one of their colleagues, so heartfelt. The food was incredible. I could eat there everyday forever!!

We stopped here on our way home. This restaurant or luncheonette is on the second floor and when you enter you notice the huge hall that occupies it. There is a generous amount of space between the tables and the best part is the amount of sunlight that the huge windows allow inside. I really liked the minimal decor with hanging plants and lights going across the hall. The staff are extremely friendly. None of us were fluent French speakers but our servers were extremely empathetic to explain the menu to us in English. We ordered the House Parker Rolls, Rigatoni rosée épicée à la vodka and the Creste di gallo au pesto di rapini, saucisse italienne. Every dish left us satisfied, both in terms of quality and quantity. I would definitely revisit.

Spacious restaurant with a charming decor. We were a group of 6 and ordered several plates to share. My favourite was the cauliflower with wild mushroom. It was a whole cauliflower baked with mushrooms topping. The chicken was good but I find rather expensive. Order some brioche to dip in the flavourful gravy! I really liked their salad too, especially their tomatoes salad which was the special of the day. Very refreshing.

love the small plates here and how you can do it family style. the brussel sprout is amazing, so is the carrot dish. The burrata is great too, very fresh tomato the Latke is very crisp and the swordfish and fish roe on top complemented it really well the roasted chicken is ok, but the park house roll is amazing. for dessert, we love the donut with peach filling, great for the summer

This place is just WOWZA!!! Cool repurposed industrial space. High ceiling, arched loft type windows and string lights. 10/10 for ambiance. Chloe our server was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. 10/10 on service. Menu was not complicated but the food was left a symphony of flavours in my mouth. Presentation was beautiful. The winners were the Choux Fleurs. Was a lot of food . I ate way too much much of everything because it was next level awesome.

We visited McKiernan twice during our recent 2.5 days Montreal trip. First of all, you can get 2-hour free parking and remember to get your parking pass stamped at the counter. The Luncheonette locates on second floor of the building without elevator. The venue is beautifully decorated with taste. One side of the wall are big windows with lots of natural light. It is perfect spot to relax and enjoy your morning/afternoon. There is a ping pong table where you can play a game with friend . There is a camera which you can take picture with nice background; they will send you an electronic version if you provide your email. First day we came for breakfast. Breakfast service starts from 8am. They serve coffee, espresso drinks, donuts, pastries and some savoury flatbread/pizza. You will order from the counter. We had espresso, filter coffee, donut, and daily special tart. We enjoyed the coffee very much. And only cost $2.5 which is a steal. The pastries were delicious with nice buttery aroma, but I wish they could warm them up before serving. Second day we came for lunch. Lunch starts from 11am and they offer table service. We ordered their famous rotisserie chicken, muffuletta, beef tartare. Rotisserie was nicely done in anchovy bagne cauda sauce, endive salad on top. The meat was very moist and tasty in the sauce. Muffuletta were made with house made ham and salami. Love the salami and ham which were not overly salted. The bread was nice as well. Once again, I wish the bread was warm up a bit. Beef tartare and crispy potato were in Romesco sauce and covered in parmesan cheese. I love the beef tartare with the sauce. However, the crispy potato was bit dry. It may be better if it serves with bread. I saw the dinner version comes with bread. Overall, I am very happy with McKiernan and wish to go back to try other dishes. Please note they update their menu changes weekly.

I brought my partner here, and it was far from downtown. He was skeptical but I assured him it would be good. He will agree that it was incredible. A bit too busy (book ahead!), but it didn't disappoint. We got the chicken croquets, the pasta of the day, and the cauliflower. Each was wonderful. The staff were excellent. Can't recommend the detour enough!!

Had a wonderful meal here. Linguini Alfredo with Chicken and Bacon. Served with a glass of house…read morered wine I couldn't have been more pleased and all for $26ca.

While this is still Fresh Juice in my mind, let's get this one down…read more I've been here maybe 3 or 4 times over the years and each visit just leaves something to be desired. (Why it seems I only have 1 actual check-in for it is beyond my understanding, mayhaps it has been so long since my previous visits that I was still a newbie Yelper and thought check-ins were lame*...) My rating is actually 3.5 stars rounded up for just really super sweet service. *Check ins are not lame FYI ... I realized u could win badges, dukedoms and baronies and yes, even kingdoms when u do check in to places. Some places even offer a special Yelper treat (like 10% off or a free shot or 2 for 1 - if they actually honour it is a whole 'nother can of worms) when u check in. Plus it's kool to show a place u r it's regular ;) It's a kyoot lil bistro type set up with terrasse in the summer, a bit cramped-feeling, however nothing overwhelmingly claustrophobic. Slightly too many tables for the space but necessary due to popularity. What I really dig about this place is the local art work on display, gorgeous photographs framed and hanging from the walls may make you want to hover over stranger's tables to get a good look. There are 2 bathrooms which seem to serve the space appropriately, but make sure you knock! For some reason patrons here enjoy using the facilities with the door unlocked which caused a couple of embarassing moments for my friend when both bathrooms were occupied, yet not locked. Because it has been so long since my previous visits let's stick to yesterday's, which is more or less representative of a typical visit. We were greeted ever so sweetly and they let us choose a nice table near the window for 2. We checked the specials board: a must-do when you come here, nothing interested me, but my friend ordered the Frittata Special. I chose the Hummus entrée with veggies and pita because my appetite has been fairly absent these days. Our waiter was quite generous and offered me to have the coffee included in my friend's frittata special (because she only wanted the OJ included). The coffee was never refilled, but I couldn't complain really 'cuz I didn't hafta pay for it in the first place. My hummus entrée was quite generous in portion actually, thankfully because at 9$ it damn well better be. There were lotsa veggies on the plate too which I highly appreciated. The pita was ok nothing special, there was plenty of it, but I ended up eating more veggies than pita. The hummus, homemade if I understood correctly, is absolutely delicious, different from most hummus yet still very much enjoyable. The cucumber and peppers seemed a bit on the precut-or-about-to-go-bad variety imo, my friend said they were fine, but they were slightly too slimey to be fresh cut and/or fresh produce, I felt. Also they chopped these huge wedges of carrot which I didn't touch because they were way too thick to be tempting. Carrot sticks or baby carrots would be a better option. I remove a 1/2 star for this aspect of questionable freshness and oddly chosen cut of carrot. The rest of the menu didn't really interest me in the sense that I wouldn't willingly pay those prices for those menu items. There were very limited options under 10$ and all in the entrée section (so if you're not too hungry don't come here 'cuz there's not many affordable munchie type items). Lotsa sweet brunch options (pancakes crepes etc), not much in terms of bacon and eggs type stuff, if that's what you're looking for this isn't the place. So pricing and choices is where I remove a whole star. This is a place I don't mind going every once in awhile because service is great and the food tastes good, but the questionable freshness with those prices makes it so I don't want to come often and can't understand why people make this a regular choice when there are better, cheaper choices very nearby. I must add that I don't have much of a sweet tooth (and especially not for breakfast) so this brunch option may be more tantalizing for those who do.
