The food itself is great, the fish is almost always cooked to order so you need to allow 10mins or so for your order! And so it is with the Rainbow Fish Bar in the six or seven times I've ordered food from this place I've been both delighted and disappointed, but mostly disappointed. On the whole the food is good; the portions are reasonable and my impression is that food is cooked fresh to order. However, when I've ordered fish, more often than not it has been a bit dry and overcooked and the batter a bit thick. Also, whilst I appreciate that these things are very much a matter of personal taste, for me, the chips tend to be a little too greasy. All in all, none of this is a big deal, except that this is one of the more pricey fish and chip shops I've frequented, and I don't generally feel I'm getting value for money.

There are relaxing spaces for adults on the front patio and a large family and dog friendly garden with play area to the rear. All dogs will be given a very warm welcome, we have treats, toys, water, blankets, dog beer and even their own dinner bowl on a Sunday. The food menu is varied and includes traditional pub dishes, Sunday carvey and exciting specials all using local produce. Kids and Senior menus are available along with a selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. A charity quiz night is held every Monday and our poker tournament is every Thursday.
