I don't usually write reviews, but felt like one was warrented here. I got my hair done as part of a bridal party last week and it was no where near what I had requested, or even presentable at all. I provided a picture of myself from when I had gotten my hair done for a previous wedding as an example of what I wanted (smooth, neat curls). I tried to smooth it out on my own and then asked for a touch up before they left, but she reverted it back to how she had originally styled it. The curls were not uniform at all, going every direction and frizzy. After the wedding I reached out to Lynda to say I was not satisfied with the styling (which was $125, not including tip). I was met with immediate defensiveness and even gaslighting from Lynda - saying it was because of the weather and she thought I looked great (did not go outside before taking photos). Lynda does not offer refunds, only a complimentary free styling. As I'm not local and was not happy with the services, that was of little value. read more

Lynda Williams Beauty - Hair immediately after styling - Hair Stylists Near Me

Lynda was great!! I was in a pinch trying to find a new hair & makeup artist for my August 2021 wedding after having to reschedule my August 2020 wedding due to COVID-19. I am so thankful I found Lynda! She was understanding from the beginning about the difficulty that comes with being a COVID bride! She answered all of my questions and is SO prompt with communicating and always offering to speak to me even later at night or on weekends basically just going above and beyond at all moments! My trial was perfect! She explained everything & is a true artist! I felt absolutely beautiful on my big day & am so thankful for Lynda! She is amazing at what she does. read more

Lynda and Olivia were absolutely amazing! My wedding day morning couldn't have been more perfect. My hair at my trial was a little loose and Lynda made sure on my wedding day it was flawless. I can't tell you how many people complimented me on my hair. All my girls hair and makeup held up perfectly as well. When I woke of the morning after my makeup was still very much on I couldn't believe how well it lasted. Lynda was always a pleasure to work with! Thanks again Lynda for making my vision for hair and makeup come to life! read more

If I could give zero stars here I would. I am honestly not sure she has this many 5 stars, but this was how she was chosen for my friend's wedding. We assumed she must be the best. I want to put this review out there so hopefully this does not happen to anyone else who choses Lynda to do their bridal hair and makeup, especially based on reviews alone. I was in the bridal party and the morning started off fine, despite her being late, and "forgetting" all her hair products, we had to use our own hair spray for the first few hours and a husband of a bridesmaid had to actually go out and BUY the products for her. She then found her own products in a few hours later! I found Lynda to be very unprofessional, aggressive and rude, especially towards the bride OF ALL PEOPLE. I am not sure if she didn't want to do the hair as we wanted OR if she simply could not do it, but the final version was far from what we had each pictured. No one looked bad, but I found she did not take our opinion or direction very well, making the process that much more uncomfortable. Moving on, she offered us all complimentary air brush, which seemed like a very nice gesture. However, she originally charged everyone $15 extra for airbrush. One bridesmaid had already paid, and Lynda said there was nothing she could do, as if a refund was totally out of the question. She added MORE than her 20% tip to the mother of the bride's hair, which was absolutely absurd and DEMANDED she ONLY accepted cash? By the end, things took a very uncomfortable and awkward turn, and this is why I really felt compelled to write a review. She got aggressive and started arguing in front of everyone with the bride about money. She could not keep track of her own services and the money, and started adamantly accusing us all of still owing her money (to which no one owed her any money). Bride was understandably upset and had to leave the room, shortly before she had to take photos. All of this over about $15. Her lack of understanding and sensitively throughout the whole situation was really shocking for someone who is in the wedding business. It didn't take long after that for her and her assistant to pack up and try to leave, WITHOUT touching up anyone's hair or makeup as promised in the beginning. We each had to ask to have certain things touched up and even then it felt very rushed. I hope anyone who takes time to read this review considers my experience. For me personally, anyone can have good reviews but it's when you delve into the bad ones that speak the most. I'm sure she has happy customers, BUT if you don't have a personal referral I would seriously think about whether or not you want to risk it on your wedding day. read more

Lynda and her team did a fabulous job with my (and my bridesmaid's) hair and makeup on my wedding day! I was nervous about doing my hair down and curly even though I knew that's what I wanted because we were going to be taking pictures outside before the ceremony in the winter, wind of Newport included. Lynda did a great job explaining her process, and I trusted her and I am so glad I did! My hair came out perfectly and she even came back to touch it up for me at my request (on a holiday too, it was New Year's Eve!) so that it would be perfect for the ceremony. And it actually stayed curled and beautiful the whole night and even into the next day! My bridesmaids looked gorgeous as well! Thank you so much, Lynda!! read more

I have my makeup and hair done pretty frequently for hoopLA events, and I have never felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day. It was the most incredible feeling and as I saw myself for the first time, I literally cried. I can't thank Lynda Williams enough for making me feel so incredible and for bringing my vision to life. Lynda has a calming demeanor and really focused on me during the time I was in her chair. She communicated exactly what she was doing and I felt like I was in great hands the entire time she worked on me. My bridesmaids equally felt as beautiful and were so happy with how their hair and makeup came out too (some trying to keep their hair the next day). I highly recommend Lynda for any event where you want to feel confident and beautiful. I hope I get to work with her again soon. read more

Lynda styled my bridal party and I for my big day. I couldn't have been happier. From the trial to the big day I was impressed with her professionalism and calming energy that made for a relaxed morning of beauty and fun with my girls! Lynda can do it all too, she did my hair up do with extensions and flawless airbrush makeup. At my trial I wasn't sure what to do with my hair, she guided me thru what would look best with my dress and wedding theme, it was great and she made me feel comfortable and beautiful thru the whole process. read more

Lynda Williams did a wonderful job of making me look like a princess on my special day. She accommodated us by doing a second makeup trial when we decided that we wanted to make some changes to my bridal look. She was very patient with us, and she made sure that we were completely satisfied with every makeup and hair choice we made. Lynda is also very friendly and easy to work with. On the day of the wedding, she finished with us ahead of schedule, which impressed my photographer. Lynda gave me a beautiful, natural look that lasted all day. I got so many compliments. I am very happy that I chose to go with Lynda Williams Beauty for my wedding day. read more

I can't say enough good things about Lynda. I first met her when she did my hair and makeup for a professional headshot. It was the best photo I've ever taken (also thanks to photographer Hillary Block)! In fact, I've told her she made me look so good for the headshot, I'm sticking with it until I turn 80! Lynda has been my stylist ever since the photo shoot. She is an absolute perfectionist. I'm never allowed to leave her shop until she's satisfied my color--and cut--are just right. Plus, she's a pleasure to work with. I'd hire her for any wedding or big event, because I know she'd do a fantastic job, and she'd be incredibly accommodating. read more
