Unfortunately, their business model has changed from "honest and hardworking" to "opaque and manipulative." The Technical Issues: In 2020, Santa Air installed my trane system but failed to properly connect the emergency heat strips. I spent five winters wondering why my house wouldn't stay warm below 30°F. They missed this mistake during every subsequent maintenance visit over the 5 years. Recently, they tried to charge me $1,700 for repairs I didn't need. A second opinion confirmed their diagnosis was wrong; that technician fixed Santa Air's original installation mistake and the actual sensor issue for a total of $575. The Billing Issues: Their current pricing "tiers" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are incredibly over-inflated compared to other local HVAC companies. And if you only need a repair included in the Gold tier, you have to pay for all the things you don't need in the tiers below it. When I realized the invoice was vague and the work wasn't needed, I cancelled. The Ethics Issue: The most disappointing part was the office's response. They tried to emotionally guilt-trip me. They held my refund hostage, telling me they would only return my money if I removed my negative reviews. I refused to be coerced and had to fight for three months through my bank to recover the funds for services never rendered. I spent over $15,000 dollars with Delta Heating and Cooling over a 2 year period, and in the end…read morewould not provide me with a complimentary service visit. I was not happy with my experience with Delta, but I had no intention of leaving a negative review. Not all business relationships end well, and I would not be publicly criticizing them if they provided a reasonable customer service experience. But they choose not to, so this is my story: I called Delta back in Feb 2024 in response to a massive spike in my electric bill. At that point the system was not heating consistently, and I wanted to move the compressor to be further away from my backdoor. They talked me into their $120/year subscription plan, and I paid ~$3,500 for the work. A couple months later they had to come back out in April at another $480 dollars. They came out again in October, another couple hundred bucks. Fine, HVAC is expensive. In my second year with Delta, February 2025, I had another massive power bill spike. Turns out this time the problem is the ductwork of my house not circulating heat. The system is running overtime, because the heat is not making it into the house. This should have raised more alarm bells at the time. At this point they had been servicing my HVAC system for a year, but they had not previously recognized the problems with the ducts? They were the ones providing an HVAC service via subscription. I did not think of that at the time, and the work needed to get done; so in February 2025 I spent over $10,000 dollars replacing the ductwork in my house. At some point in this saga, Delta replaced the defrost board on the HVAC machine under warranty. It was under warranty because the part had been replaced following one of these expensive service visits. The brand new defrost board failed in less than a couple months, and to their credit, Delta fixed it under warranty. In December of 2025, Delta came out for a standard service appointment, and told me the defrost board needed to be replaced again for another ~$600. This is when the alarm bells started ringing for me. I don't know the intricacies of HVAC; but I know computers and cars. And from my experience, if the same part is breaking repeatedly, something else is wrong. This is when I lost confidence in Delta's competence with older HVAC units. I was correct. I called Air Experts for a second opinion, and it turns out the defrost board had been installed incorrectly, and the problem wasn't the board at all. The problem was that a piece of solder was floating around in the compressor lines and clogging the system. Air Experts understood the problem, understood old Goodman machines, and were able to clean and and fix the machine for ~$600. I called Delta to express my dissatisfaction; but they did not own up to their failure. Instead they felt it appropriate to continue charging me for their subscription plan, because it is paid in arrears. To this day in April 2026, I am still paying them $20 a month for the visit back in December 2025 where they failed to properly diagnose the problem with the HVAC. So, I asked them: Since I am not satisfied, I am still paying them in 2026; can I please get a complimentary service visit to checkout the machine after Air Experts. I thought that was a reasonable solution to prevent this negative review. They denied me, so I am sharing my experience. I would not recommend you use this company if you have an older house and HVAC system. I don't believe they have the history and competency to service older machines, per my experience. I don't harbor any ill will, because everyone I spoke to at the organization was courteous and reasonable; but in the end, I don't recommend doing business with organizations that won't stand behind their work.

I called Performance out to my home on May 19th to check my system it had a hissing sound. When the…read moretech arrived he check the unit and said it was a pound low on Freon. He then said he did a visual leak check and didn't find any signs of oil anywhere. He also did states he did not hear any odd noises. Fast forward to Friday June 19th I called the office again this time my unit completely quit, tech comes out at 4:50 pm after checking the Freon level he says it is empty. Did the tech remove the panel to revel any issues no he did not. I had another Tech come out from a fairly small business and he found the problem in less than a minute of looking at my system. There was a small hole in the pipe that I could have put my pink nail into, the tech said now how hard was that to spot. I told him not hard at all I said a blind person could have seen that. I paid a fee in May of $163.33 and a fee on the June visit which was the service fee $80.06. The payment from the Friday visit I put a stop payment on I am not paying for incompetence. I this was done to me I am sure it was done to other people as well. If you have to get your AC checked or repaired don't go to Performance they do not do what they say they are there to do so unless you go the time to stand there and watch what they do and ask questions on did you check this did you check that you are not going to know unless you are standing right there.
