If I could give more than five stars I would! I found Lynn's Perfect Stitches from the preferred seamstress list given to my by my bridal shop. So of course, I turned to Yelp to find my best options. There was a shop in Medford, MA in my hometown, but based on Lynn's good reviews I decided to trek all the way to North Andover. If you are coming from the 93, be prepared to drive through a national forest (pretty cool and calming to be honest) to get here, but trust me... it's worth your trip. Lynn does a FANTASTIC job on alternations. She listened to what I wanted, gave advice and suggestions (and yes, she knows her stuff) but ultimately what made me love her the most was how easy she was to work with. I went 4x to try my dress and towards the end I made a very late decision to take out the push up part of my bust (sorry TMI!) and she worked with me and even went in early two days later so I could try it on before I left for my wedding. I cannot say I was the easiest bride, but I can say she was ALWAYS so pleasant to work with. There are comments below about her price points, while I will say wedding dress or formal dress alternations are NOT cheap, it really matters with quality of the alterations. Wedding dresses are not "one size fits all" in fact mine was way too big for me and Lynn did a perfect job to get my dress to flatter my body type. So in the end I was and still am willing to pay $ for good alternations and exceptional customer service. The comments I got on how fitted my dress was were insurmountable and I truly felt like a beautiful bride on my wedding day. Other plus' about her shop are that it's off the Turnpike in North Andover, not too far from 93 and there is always plenty of parking. I found this seamstress on Yelp. I brought Lynn an expensive evening dress to alter. Lynn had told me to get a better bra. I did. A few weeks later when I returned to pick up the dress as promised, Lynn had taken in the dress and its jacket in as planned. The work was adequate, absolutely not great. And my new bra straps showed just like they did with the old bra. Lynn made excuses and blamed me. She seemed put-out that I wanted the dress right. Terribly rude. The fashion professional I brought with me to the appointment and I both made easy suggestions to fix the problem. Lynn would not bother fixing the problem at all and charged me the full amount originally quoted. I spent $155 on alterations and, it would have been worth it if the alterations were done right. Lynn refused to even try to make the dress right. The dress is at another tailor being fixed. UPDATE: another tailor fixed the dress for $20! Very expensive and TERRIBLE customer service. Lynn was great. I had come to her one month before my wedding with 2 dresses! The first dress was purchased 10 months before my wedding and it ended up not fitting me properly and really could not be fixed. Lynn did a beautiful job of altering a wedding dress for me that had multiple layers of tulle and a top layer of lace. She needed to take it in 4" on top and make the waist more fitted. Although this was a challenging task she got it done in a month. I paid extra for a "rush job" but it was well worth the additional cost. When I purchased my dress I decided to bring it to an outside shop to get altered b/c wedding shops charge way too much on top of the dress itself! I found Lynn's Perfect Stitches and decided to check them out. I brought my dress to Lynn right away when it came in (5 months before my wedding) and she had me try it on to see the fit. I was practically swimming in it! The consultant ordered a size 6 for me back in September. Lynn suggested to wait 1 month before my wedding to try it on again just in case I lost more weight. While I was at her shop, I saw a lot of veils that she made so I ended up getting a pretty veil that perfectly matched my dress from her as well. Lynn also told me if I had any other dresses (bridesmaids, MOB, flowergirls, etc) to get altered she can do them too. Of course to save time and money, I brought all 3 dresses of my bridesmaids (David's Bridal), my flowergirl's dress (David's Bridal), and my evening dress (PromGirl) for Lynn to alter. She worked her charms because she fixed everything in less than 2-3 weeks! It was 3 weeks before my wedding and Lynn had me try my dress on again and come to find, she was right! I lost more weight so she basically turned my size 6 dress into a size 0! I have to give Lynn a lot of credit b/c she did so much for me in such a short amount of time and for a much better price! Keep in mind she has other clients as well. On top of all this, she made my mom a dress too b/c we couldn't find anything nice at stores. It was a bit of a commute, but was super easy to find. She's open on Saturday which was an additional perk! I purchased my dress at David's Bridal (see my review on them and I will say no more!) and was NOT going to get any alterations there. I would have chosen to wear my dress 8 inches too long (I'm only 5 feet) than bring it back there! Not only was Lynn professional, helpful with suggestions, and flexible with timing/days to meet my needs, but she did a wonderful job! My dress is a bridesmaid dress and my little sis is getting married! I am so happy I chose this place because it gave me one less thing to worry about. I knew that she would be quick and her price was super reasonable. Also, the other thing I liked was that it was roomy and had good lighting. There's nothing worse than a small, dark alteration shop. I was skeptical going to just any alterations person since we spent a lot of money on my dress but after reading Lynn's review I figured I would give her try. We met with her three time during the process and she was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. The bottom of my dress was lace and had to be hemmed, and when she was finished, all the detail was still there and you could not even notice that she did anything. The last fitting, I left there feeling like the dress was too tight. I called her and she told me she would fix it and that I didn't have to come back in. I put all my trust in her and she delivered.
