Providing them two of five stars because they did a great job altering a suit for me months back. This is a cash only business though they have a square reader / device at the register (odd isn't it?). I'd normally tell my spouse she's mistaken or who knows what's happening on the other side, but after what I've observed and hearing it from my kids, something is wrong with the owners here. TLDR to the business, I'd suggest changing your tone and customer service, keep it at the same level of professionalism as your alterations. Strike 1 - They've lost a few stars because their customer service is sub par and I thought it was a fluke (from the first visit). This is the type of business that feels they're entitled to be rude and you need them... Strike 2 - My spouse and kids swung by today to get a recommendation on an alteration. The owner was rude from the beginning, complaining about not being able to have an alteration ready by next Thursday as it's a holiday weekend. A no, not enough time, would have sufficed rather than a snappy response. Strike 3 - There was also a gentleman with a cane that walked in with their hands full and struggled to open the door and move closer inside. As such, the door was as briefly kept open to help him in and the owner complained about keeping the doors open. I understand, electric rates are sky high. But any observant owner would have noticed that speed was not the gentleman's gift at that age and would have offered to grab the clothes from him and helped him in. The icing on the cake is being rude to a kid. If a kid says thank you as they leave, don't ignore them. Where are your collective manners? Fortunately, they found a place on broadway st in salem nh that delivered great service. If you're a repeat customer, perhaps things are great for you. Net new customer, not so sure.... read more

If I could give this establishment a half a star, I would. Long story short I asked the owner to alter my bridesmaid gown and read all the great reviews prior to bringing my dress. I tried it on after and it seemed like it could be taken in more but his response was "he couldn't because the dress will scrunch up in the back". I wasn't satisfied when I left and retried it at home and it looked awful on me. It didn't fit right..AT ALL. I was in a scramble because the wedding is a month out and needed it to be corrected asap. I found a great tailor and they are fixing it to my liking. Unfortunately I have to pay again for what should have already been done prior at I & G. I called I & G to ask if I could get partial money back and he was absolutely rude. He's not giving me anything back but lesson learned. I will never go back again. read more

I highly recommend I & G Tailoring. I needed my suit pants altered on short notice and the tailor had them done on the day he promised them, and for a very reasonable price. Very high quality work, very pleasant person. Located in a small building on Main Street in North Andover, Massachusetts. You'll have to find parking on the street or there are one or two spaces to the right of the store. (I had the alteration done in early March 2022). I came across this location after going to a local cleaner and they advised they sent all their alternations to I & G so I decided to go straight to the source. Location: right in the center of North Andover so can't be missed. Workmanship: I've been here a couple times now and received only fantastic tailoring. Time: I can't speak for the timeliness as I usually pick my items up a week or two after they are ready. Price: His prices are reasonable and he quotes you right in the shop. I was really excited to go here. A stylist referred me here and told me to tell him she sent me. I figured he'd take good care of me! Not so. I actually wasn't going to write a review of him since I didn't want to put her in bad stead with him, but today when I went to grab a shirt he was supposed to have fixed a seam on, I noticed he hadn't even done it and had charged me for it. This was the icing on the cake of a bad experience and I feel I have to say something now. I took a bunch of clothes to him on a Saturday. He said he'd have everything (maybe 7-8 pieces) ready for the following Saturday. He said to come any time. I said "are you sure?" because i have to drive about 35 minutes to get to him, so I wanted to make sure the clothes would be ready. He assured me they would be ready. Fast-forward to Saturday. I had taken the red-eye home from California, and arrived home around 10 am. I had a bite to eat and knew I would be too exhausted later to pick the clothes up, but it's hard for me to get up to the area during the week, so I drove up. I walked in, I think it was around noon and he said the clothes weren't ready, that I should go run some errands and come back in an hour. I was shocked, I reminded him that he told me to come anytime. He said he had a busy week because it was prom season. I told him I had just taken the red-eye and was struggling to keep my eyes open. He said I should come back Tuesday. I said there's no way for me to get up here during the week before he closes. He actually said "so what do you want me to do?" I should have asked him to mail them to me but I was still bewildered. When I told him I had driven from Reading, and it was over an hour of driving, his reply was "So? People come from Canada to see me." He finally suggested I nap in his parking lot for an hour while he work. I thought this was bizarre, but didn't know what else to do, so I agreed. I asked him if he was sure an hour would be enough, because at this point I didn't want a half-assed job. He said it would be fine. An hour later, I walked in. He handed me my clothes and had the gall to charge me full-price. No discount, and no apology. I left and just figured I'd let it go, but I was pretty outraged. The work itself was standard, nothing spectacular, nothing horrible, but to find this morning that he actually hadn't fixed one of the shirts was infuriating!! read more

The only place we go for alterations. My husband's suits, pants...my gowns. Love his honesty. If something can't be done, he takes the time to explain the reason. Stumbled across him after buying an item at the consignment shop next door, and am so glad I did. Items are always available for pickup on date he gives. I have been going to I&G for 2 years now and I have no regrets. He always does a quality job with any item I've brought him, is super friendly, and I usually receive my tailoring in a week's time. Yes, it is true that Kanber ("Ken") does not always have everything ready when he said he would. This is because he's super-busy and popular. I'm pretty sure that he DOES have things ready for time-sensitive things like proms and weddings, or he'd be out of business. My solution is to give him a "cushion" of a few more days than he said he'd need, and then always call ahead before driving down to pick stuff up.
