Why? Because you get one on one help even when its with the littlest of things such as the needing the right screws. This is important to me especially when I'm in a hurry. Chevy Chase came through for me. There is plenty of off street parking in the back plus a back door for customers. The inside of the store seems huge but its hard to tell since the aisles are narrow and it looks like its two buildings put together inside. The rows of aisles is endless it seems. I got there just before closing and did not have time to browse the whole store. Staff was super friendly and extra helpful. I highly recommend this store for your home maintenance needs.

Only issue is, we did not open or seal that package back. We kept the two packages we opened despite not liking the product. We bought the item with the taped back, but the checkout person didn't notice it was taped (1 of 6 packages). I rarely write a negative review but when she told me that we had sealed that up and they could not accept it, I became irritated. We have tried to like and appreciate this store but it isn't working, so we will bypass it and drive to Frankfort, Lawrenceburg, Lexington, or Nicholasville.

I only have one example and that is a folding trailer. They have one in the store on display but they do not have any in stock and neither this store or the nearest one in Lexington knows when one will come in because the truck just comes. There is no way to know in advance what is on that thing and this product and several others require in-store purchase. I went to their competitor's website, Northern Tool and was able to order one although it is not the same price.

Walked in and there are signs everywhere but the "parking lot" sale is spread ALL OVER the store... things we'd been looking for were hidden on regular shelves, not out with the sale items... basically using, predatory sales tactics to get us INSIDE the store, looking through the whole store hunting for the sale items and hopefully finding other non sale items we absolutely must have. Now, we'd also decided to buy a large ticket item while we were there... we had a 20% off coupon after all! We found what we wanted and it said to ask for assistance. We did and were asked for the item number... hmmm didn't know that was my job. Purpose being they had to look and see if the item was in stock. Ummm.. there's one on the shelf, I say.. ignored... nevertheless, they have to see if it's in stock. No, none in stock, they need our info to give us a rain check. Ummm.. I say again... THERE'S ONE ON THE SELF! Oh, ok.. we'll have someone get that for you. Yeah.. that's what we asked for 15 minutes ago... ASSISTANCE! When placing an order online, I requested a shipping change: if they could refund their shipping charge (which would have covered standard UPS Ground), they could instead ship using my own UPS account via 2nd Day Air. I followed up with a phone call to confirm and clearly stated that if it was too much trouble, just use their regular ground shipping and ignore the change. Over the phone, they confirmed the order would ship via UPS Ground using their free shipping. However, after the item shipped using my UPS account, I was told they could not refund their shipping cost -- despite the fact that I was eligible for free ground shipping in the first place. I spoke with the same person again, who gave no clear explanation as to why a refund couldn't be issued. This is a small business, not a large corporate chain, yet they act as if they have no flexibility or accountability. This isn't about small $10 shipping charge -- it's about honesty and doing the right thing. They profit by refusing to refund money they shouldn't have charged, and then hide behind a false lack of options. Unprofessional and dishonest. I strongly recommend staying away.
