Lyric Preschool has been such a godsend for my child and my family. It's a year round school that is consistent and reliable. The teachers are incredibly patient, loving and provide wonderful educational nourishment. My daughter comes home with a smile on her face and stories of everything she did that day. She developed such meaningful early friendships. They do arts and crafts galore. How they get my little one to nap is still a wonder to me. They put together such thoughtful portfolios and meaningful Holiday, Mother's and Father's Day activities. We also love the once a month KPNO (Kids & Parents Night Out). Kids contained! Parents Play! As they often say, "the days are long but the years are short." I will treasure the days of picking up my daughter from Lyric and the milestones she accomplished in such a short amount of time. My son went to Lyric Preschool for a year and he loved it, as did we. His teacher's in the Teddy Bear class--Miss Kim, Ms. Mari, and Ms. Christina--were beyond wonderful. We could feel the love they held for the children and for their work. They helped him through potty training and napping difficulties. My son thrived there and loved the morning songs, stories they read, fun seasonal events (circus day was one of his favorites), and everyday artwork they made. We only switched him because we moved to San Francisco. We'll always remember my son's time at Lyric Preschool with great fondness. read more

We LOVE this school! All of the teachers and staff are very warm and friendly. My first son graduated from Lyric and missed all of the teachers. The social skills and education he gained here allowed him to become a better student at his current elementary school. My second son now attends the 3-year-old Sun Shine program, and is flourishing! A few of my favorite things about the school are how nurturing the teachers, the multiple play yards, the early drop-off / late pick-up options, creative activities, potty training assistance, parents participation, and can't forget "PARENTS NIGHT OUT"! We've searched around the area for a proper pre-school that will match our needs and assist us with the physical and educational growth of our kids. We are so thankful for Lyric Pre-School, this place is such a "GEM" in our community. We absolutely loved our time at Lyric. We were in town for only 10 weeks because my husband was doing an internship. First off, they were willing to take us for just the 10 weeks! We didn't have to deal with waitlists and interview processes - they made space and were so friendly and accomodating. Not only that, but the quality of care was wonderful as well. Our son had such a fun tim - for the summer program, they gave the kids plenty of playtime outside (they have a huge sandbox play area!) and every day it seemed like we were getting to see cool art and craft projects that had been completed. We are so fortunate to find this gem in Silver Lake. My son went to Lyric School from 2 and a half to 4 years old. We only had to change school because we are moving away from the area, but we still miss Lyric a lot! The center director Mr Curtis created a family like environment. All the teachers, kids and parents form a unique bond together and create a great environment for kids to grow. We like their play-based program. Kids learns a lot about socializing through playing. They always brought home all kinds of crafts, colorings and writings. And my favorite ones are printed photos of our child decorated in their weekly themes. We are so incredibly fortunate to have found a school like Lyric Preschool. Mr. Curtis from the beginning has always been so kind-hearted and personable. Before we enrolled our son, he gave us a wonderful tour of the preschool, and we instantly felt that the children here were happy, thriving, and very considerate. They were so sweet and kept coming up to our son, partially out of curiosity but it really made him very comfortable. We felt like Lyric would be the right place for us. And boy were we right :). Our son entered the school when he was 2 years and 2 months old. We had a newborn at the time, and the teachers helped tremendously with the transition into a new environment. When he had his bad days, they knew how to make him happy! They also were super encouraging during the process of potty training! And his vocabulary grew tremendously. We also feel that our son felt comfortable expressing himself and his feelings. I can't emphasize enough how much the teachers at this school go above and beyond. Our family loves each and every one of them. They are loving, playful, attentive, and really help our little one thrive. They understand and encourage the nuances in the different ways these little individuals communicate and respect the different personalities of each student. They are very engaging and nurturing and supportive. And, they still ensure that rules are adhered to and great structure is provided. They really are instrumental in the development and well-being of our child. Our second son is excited to attend this school as well. He visits once in a while. As a parent, it brings me so much joy and comfort seeing all the updates (videos, photos, and messages) I get throughout the day on the preschool app. I love seeing my son's smiley face and hearing him giggle with his friends, and I appreciate everything that the teachers do to make sure we feel connected with our son while we are at work. My friends that send their kids to other preschools are low-key jealous that we get so many fun photos and videos. And the creativity and fun that comes out of the teachers' brains!!! I just love the activities and events that they plan for the kids: Circus day with games, face painting, and prizes, the Easter egg hunt extravaganza, a Starbucks and Disneyland themed Halloween event, and all the singing and dancing that goes on behind the scenes! All the adorable photos and crafts that our son comes home with...the cuteness is just beyond! They sure know how to keep the kids productive, constantly learning, and very happy. Lyric is great. The teachers are bright, caring, and full of energy and the staff is beyond accommodating. We use their drop-in services (via BUMO care) to cover the gaps when our preschool is closed and it has been such a help for our family. The only reason I didn't send my daughter here full-time is because I didn't know about it. Like so many things in LA, it's hard to tell what's going on from the street, but they have a large clean facility and a big shaded yard. Thank you Lyric! read more

You do get what you pay for! At Lyric Pre-School your child will learn so much. I previously had my son in daycare (wayyy cheaper than Lyric) and once I decided to switch him over to Lyric (to prepare him for kinder), I was impressed at the rate of education and progress my son has shown. Lyric Pre-School is a pretty penny, but it's well worth the monthly tuition I pay for my son's education. Curtis, the owner, prepares hot meal lunches from SCRATCH everyday (included in the tuition), there's play time, music time, learning time, nap time, lunch, etc all rolled into a day. Curtis also plays the piano for the kids to sing and dance to. My son's current teacher Ms. Roxann is also nice and friendly. Overall, every member of Lyric's teachers and adult monitors are well-vetted by Curtis and all seem so nice, patient and sweet. I am 110% happy that I moved my son over to Lyric to prepare him for Franklin Ave Elementary. If you're in doubt, walk into Lyric and speak with Curtis or another teacher. I'm sure you can't just read a Yelp review and make a decision on your child's education. Check out Lyric though, Curtis has an open door policy and there's no need to make an appointment or sign up for a meeting or school tour or wait for an opening. read more

We love Lyric Preschool. I'm so happy we found this school. I did extensive research for preschool in the area, went to tours, and some of them even have an interview for a preschool. We decided to come here because Mr. Curtis make us feel that our son would be in a great hands. All the teachers here are amazing. My first son graduated last year and still says he misses Lyric. He is now in kinder and all he learned from lyric helps him a lot in the current school, not only academics also social skills and manners. We love Lyric Preschool!! Our son was at Lyric from From age 3-6, and he had the best experience there. The director, Mr. Curtis is so caring and brings such a great energy into the day with his fun personality and the way he is with the kids. Ms KC is a phenomenal educator and is fills the day with fun activities, lots of love and kindness, she is an intuitive and thoughtful person, and was a great match for our son and all of his needs. All of the teachers at Lyric were amazing, and our now kindergartener still longs for his preschool days. This is an amazing school and we had the best experience compared to our prior preschools. We are so happy we made the decision to enroll our son here, he has learned so much and is so happy. The most amazing preschool ever. We were so fortunate to have found such a gem in this neighborhood. The teachers are super caring and loving. Both my kids attended lyric since age 2 to kinder. Very emotional and sad experience when the kids grow up and move on. Mr. Curtis is so awesome. All the kids love him and he plays the piano for them. All the teachers are very artistic and creative, which I LOVE. Both my kids language and verbal skills are excellent. My daughter has been going to Lyric for nearly a year now and she loves it. We love it. My husband and I were looking for a place that was fun for our daughter, and that we trusted. I have never doubted the care that my daughter receives and it has really helped her come out of her shell. The ratio of kids to teachers is great, and they make great crafts every single day. She's learning, but she is having a lot of fun while she is doing it. Mr. Curtis is amazing and we are actually very sad that because we have moved, and my daughter can no longer attend the school. I was a former student at Lyric preschool, and now my daughter goes there. As soon as it came time to decide on where to place her for preschool I immediately knew Lyric was the only place I would feel 100% happy and confident in. As a grown woman today, I can still clearly remember all of the AMAZING projects and fun activities we did, 22 years later! They have home cooked meals for the kids and encourage nothing but healty foods! My daughter has progressed soooo much since she started Lyric, and has learned her colors too! She is 3 years old, but can speak clear full sentences like a 5 year old! I highly recommend Lyric, they have a amazing staff and really, genuinely care about the kids as individuals. I know how difficult it can be to leave your child with complete strangers, but at Lyric Preschool it feels more like a family. The director, teachers, and T.A.'s are so loving, patient, and caring that I don't hesitate to drop my son off or worry about him during the day. He looks forward to going to school and LOVES it there! Not only does he learn how to socialize with his peers, but he also learns academic skills and behavior that will set him up for success in kindergarten. My daughter chloe went to lyric pre-school from age 2-5. We loved it there. The staff is friendly, attentive, they use kind discipline, and Mr. Curtis the director is Awesome! Both of our sons attended Lyric school over the course of the last 2+ years. We have loved every minute. Our sons thrived both emotionally and developmentally while they attended Lyric. I currently have my daughter enrolled at this school and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the management, teachers and the facilities. My four year old daughter looks forward to school every day and she comes home tired and happy. We applied for many but we are sure happy this is the one that opened first. This school is amazing. A true family experience. It starts from the casual coolness of Director/owner of school Curtis. Just a good dude that I trust implicitly with my boys. I knew him through a family friend that has known him for 50 years...he is caring, gracious and obviously loves what he does. The entire staff could not be more well suited for child care. Loving and playful. This is not a hipster Pre k. This is the pre k we had as children of the 70's. My boys leave happy each and everyday. Don't walk run those little feet here!!! I am very surprise how some of the parents are very happy with the diet they feed their children at lyric preschool. They served them pre-made process food. Sometimes a lot of sugar. Home cook meal? and healthy food? Last time I check they serve children a can pineapple and for afternoon snack they gave them goldfish cheese snack witch pack with unhealthy calories and most likely GMO. I can see why the parents are so happy because you dont have to worry about packing their kids lunches. I have much more negative things to say about this school but I am not going to go crazy in this yelp box. If you like the school send your kid there but me personally I have been telling friends and family that is the worse place to send your kid. They should call that place a daycare not preschool. read more

I have had 3 children attend Lyric and they have all absolutely loved it. The kids have so much fun while learning a lot. The teachers and the staff are wonderful and my children never wanted to miss a day! The art projects they do throughout the year are creative and really clever as well as educational. Lyric is a wonderful, warm, and nurturing environment for toddlers. They go out of their way to make sure each child feels loved and safe - and isn't that the most important thing at this age, from the child's perspective? At age two, there is nowhere else my child could be dropped off without throwing a fit. We looked around at a lot of preschools, many nice preschools, but there was a rigidity and coldness that made me question, "could my son fit in here?" That wasn't a question at Lyric. It wasn't about him fitting into their environment; the question, instead, was "how can we make him feel welcome here?" Lyric made him feel loved and safe. He has been thriving there ever since. He plays all day, learns how to cooperate with others with directed supervision, and always gets a hot meal with plenty of snacks! Mr. Curtis, the director, is so generous with the kids.
