In the summertime Mälarpaviljongen remains the stellar location for lunch, fika, cocktails or light dinner. The views are just amazing a warm summer night! A previous review I wrote was written in the early parts of their summer season, and was a visit marked by repeated subpar performances. I have however been back a couple of times this summer, and I have to give them credit for improved service and food experiences.

I got this place recommended by a Swedish work mate. The food was great and it's location is beautiful, especially in the evening sun. But It was just too crowded for my liking! If you enjoy hanging out with all of Stockholm at the same time, then this is the place for you. The spot seems very friendly towards same-sex couples and people off all ages. Leaving the pavilion we spotted a rabbit :)

Strawberry basil drink. Expensive but delicious!

This place is MAGICAL - but crazy expensive. It's one of the absolute best spots for enjoying Swedish summer. The white-painted wooden dock bobs on the water along Kungsholmen, the sun shines down, the green plants spread throughout make it feel tropical. It's a beautiful bar and restaurant at a beautiful location. The drinks are beautiful, too. But be warned about the prices. One cocktail will easily set you back 140kr. I always opt for the tasty strawberry-basil drink in a jar, but I usually just stick to one drink here due to the prices. It's a great place to kick off an evening, gathering friends for a single drink, and then moving on.

I loved it! Quirky semi self-service, but the food is fantastic and the location exceptional. I loved being on the water and the fun of exploring what's basically a little floating garden. My husband thoroughly enjoyed a perfectly delicious and beautifully presented traditional Swedish meatball dinner. I order Swedish Arctic char in a light sauce with roasted vegetables. It was also beautifully presented but I swear the fish must have jumped fresh onto my plate. It was easily one of the best I've had at any restaurant.

Over the top. Best food I have had in Sweden thus far. So very fresh and good. I am an avid fisherman and have caught herring before but this herring is Michelin quality rating amazing. I cannot believe this is not a more expensive and five star yelp restaurant as the prices are perfect, the atmosphere is delighting and the people here are so incredibly nice. If you are looking for an incredible experience come here. They have English menus so do not be deterred when you walk in. I have been sitting here for 35 min and it seems that the line is always long and coming from a guy who hates lines this line is worth it.

This is my favorite place in the world when it comes to a lunch, afternoon drinks, pre-party drinks, a snack or just having a moment where you enjoy life! It is absolutely beautiful positioned next to (and ON) the water. The restaurant are is surrounded by flowers, trees and plants which makes it an oasis in the centre of Stockholm. The Bar area itself is actually on the water, on a massive and extremely comfortable floating pier. No need to mention that the scenery is just stunning. The clientel is very mixed: gay, straight, young, old, rich, non-rich, famous, non-famous, couples, families, singles...In other words, everyone loves this place. The food feels fresh and tastes nice, they have a good selection on wine and beer as well as gorgeous cocktails. If you visit Stockholm in the summer months, this is a must!

This is a seared smoked salmon. So amazing.

Just lovely. A beautiful location, delicious food. Yes it's expensive and yes it's crowded but it was worth it. The simple sandwich of salmon and potatoes was very nice, and my Swedish meatballs were wonderful. But the seared smoked salmon was simply to die for. Probably one of the best salmon dishes I've ever tried. I'm a tourist here and this made for a perfect first meal in Stockholm!

We had just arrived that afternoon and were walking around our hotel to look for an early dinner. The dining room is lovely but not too stuffy or formal. We ordered the brown bread for starters, along with some wine and beer. I ordered the Arctic char (parsnip, chili, hazelnuts, browned butter and a soy glaze) and Paul G. went with the meatballs (hand-rolled and with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber). We had the traditional Swedish meatball dish a few more times during the trip and they all came with the same components, but Bistro Bestick's was my fave. The sauce was heavier, velvety and creamy, and the potatoes were oh so fluffy. The berries were tart and fresh. I loved my fish, too... the hazelnuts, brown butter and soy were such a bright, unexpected combination. I enjoyed every bite. Don't sleep on dessert here! I couldn't even finish my dinner but still wanted to try the chocolate rum cake (salty caramel sauce, roasted peanuts, vanilla ice cream and crispy sesame) and what a delightful flavor explosion! It was beautifully presented and the sesame "cracker" on top was the perfect contrast to all the sweetness. I'd highly recommend BB!

A once-in-a-lifetime experience and meal for anyone lucky enough to snag a reservation…read more Reservations open at 10 am on the first of the month for the following month and will go quickly, within a couple of minutes, so for a restaurant 15 years in, is still a hot spot to be. I planned my whole Stockholm trip around coming here, and was lucky enough to snag a solo reservation for dinner the last night of my trip in May 2025. Truly nothing comes close to the overall service & hospitality experience and quality of the food and drinks. I have dietary restrictions (no red meat), that they could accommodate with no problem and even provide a printed menu that represented my exact substitutions, which rarely happens for me. The night I came, Björn Frabtzén received a third Michelin star at Frantzén's sister restaurant in Dubai, becoming the only chef in the world to helm three 3-Michelin star restaurants simultaneously, and my experience here really shows why they are the best of the best. You enter from a lobby and are greeted by a host who will guide you through the experience. I had the opportunity to use the restroom and then got a peak into some of the meats I'd be enjoying for my meal in the entryway itself. You then go up an elevator to the Lounge, where you get your first look at the drink menu and your first bites. Frantzén was one of the first restaurants to really champion this experience of moving from room to room for different courses and it sets an ambiance almost of eating at someone's home. It's casual but decadent and the chefs walk you through all of the ingredients you're about to enjoy while casually chit chatting and enjoying the best canapés of your life. After the starters, you're taken through the prep kitchen and the wine cellar to the actual restaurant, which is a large open kitchen where you get to watch the chefs work while enjoying your meal. I was celebrating my birthday, and despite getting the NA pairing (which was excellent minus one drink towards the end) had so many additional generous free pours of incredible wines and champagne throughout the night. Well worth it, as their sommelier won best sommelier at the Scandinavia Michelin ceremony one month later in June 2025, and some of the glasses they gave me for free were easily $100 a piece. Come hungry, because you'll leave stuffed beyond belief for a 5-6 hour meal (and can always hang out longer if the restaurant hasn't closed up for the night.) This menu is legendary and best to go in without too many spoilers, but I had the best dish of my life - the tear drop peas chanwamushi - sweet, so tender, unreal. Another guest told me they wait all year for pea season to get this version of the dish. After dinner, you move back into the lounge where you're treated to after dinner drinks, teas, light sweets (that they will box up for you if you're too full) and the famous cardamom, brown butter, and Madeira madeleines. These mini-versions of madeleines come in a set of 9, are made fresh to order, and are refilled for however long you want to sit and enjoy the ambiance and chat at the end of the night. I felt like over the course of this part in particular, I made friends with other diners and the staff and had one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of my life. Frantzén is one of the best in the world (and if Reddit is to be believed, the very best) for a reason.

Apparently I'm not the only one - since last I visited it is now placed on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list for Stockhom, and rightfully so. Upon entry you'll already feel a lovely blend of Swedish design and quirky aesthetic choices that signal you're in for a good experience. While the interior is tasteful, there are elements like chairs being mounted on the walls and a couple of the seatings being perched up on mounts near the front windows. Everyone who greets you and serves are very delightful, charming, and often funny, which really sets the tone wonderfully. The food itself is on the heartier side but all really well considered and delicious. We had the see bass ceviche with tomatoes (fresh, tangy, and complex) and iberico ham with parmesan (basic but very high quality ingredients), both of which were really delicious. The complimentary bread rolls and butter were really delightful, cooked with a bubbly crunchy texture that was delightful to chew. The main courses included their classic pork confit dish as well as another ibercio pork entree with white beans, cilantro, and chorizo - both were savory and very meat-forward but the star of the show was absolutely those white beans which were prepared in a very savoury sauce. Our total bill including a very good bottle of pinot noir from Napa Valley the bill came to around $240 USD. For the quality of the food, service, and attention to style, as well as the distinction of being a recognized place to eat in Stockholm, I would definitely recommend this place to any traveler who wants to experience local cusine in Stockholm.

We started with the reindeer salad since my bf had never had reindeer before. While the reindeer seemed less cooked than expected, by the end he really liked the mix of flavors and thought it paired well with the salad. We both got the Swedish meatballs for our entrees and loved them! We both loved the pickled cucumbers and lingonberries. The lingonberries pair so well with the meat! While there are only 3 meatballs, they were so huge neither of us could finish all of them. Especially because I wanted to save room for dessert: the sponge cake!
