    Minced moose!
    Patrick P.

When in Sweden you could go and try the meatballs. But there is more to Scandinavian fare than that. We got to experience that at Knut, which we went to on our last night in Stockholm. We managed to walk up without a reservation and get a table downstairs in their basement level, which lent for a nice cozy, private atmosphere. We had a plate of Northern delicacies including smoked deer bear and moose sausage. I kept the wild game going with the minced moose main. Everything was well done, very tasty, and wasn't gamey as I have experienced with other dishes featuring venison or deer. A great laid-back place to enjoy local cuisine.

A friendly bar/ restaurant. All the tables were reserved, but they let me eat at the bar counter. All staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Both starter and main were very nice. Starter: cured salmon with pickled cucumber, miso mayo etc Main: roasted golden beets with horseradish yogurt sauce, deep fried halloumi, and roasted pine nuts + honey Bread board was a bit odd - crunchy dried flat bread and black, sweetened bread with dried currents inside. A bit like what we call Christmas cake in England. Even the whipped butter tasted sweet. The apple cake was decent too. Not great but good.

Arrive late afternoon and Knut said that between lunch and dinner the kitchen only produces one meal a sausage dish with greens, mashed potatoes and beets. She said it was a traditional swedish meal....just what I was looking for, I said bring it on! I wasn't disappointed, it's not like the sausages we have in the US, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would order it again. Great place and reasonably priced.

    Charcuterie and Swedish dumplings.

My husband and I had an incredible dinner at Knut Restaurant. They specialize in Northern Sweden cuisine, which apparently involves a lot of cloven hoof delicacies. First, they brought out some amazing dark rye with dried berries and crisp bread served with butter and messmov, which is a delicious spread made with the whey from making cheese cooked with sugar and salt. Then, we had a charcuterie plate with cold smoked reindeer, deer heart, smoked wild boar and moose sausage with an aged cheese and a berry chutney. We also had Swedish dumplings with seared smoked pork cubes and pickled lingonberries. For dinner, we shared a flatbread with smoked pork, cubed potato, sour cream, pickles, dill and chips. Best meal we've had in Stockholm.

Venison with mushroom sauce and lingonberries. So good!

Awesome place for lunch for traditional Swedish food. Lunch will cost about 125 Krons which is fairly reasonable here. They do have an English menu which is a real positive since most of the staff's English is limited. Also you can pay with a credit card or cash. I had the venison with a mushroom and lingonberries served with mashed potatoes. It was so tasty and was like comfort food on a cool day. The only negative was the portions were very traditional so don't expect a huge plate of food.

Pretty cute restaurant in Stockholm! The first contact with our waitress has been a bit difficult. Nevertheless the waiters who was in charge of us later was really kind and full of advice. The dishes are typically Swedish and really good. Well cooked and prepared. We loved the elderflower lime Swedish cider. Nevertheless the music was a bit too loud and we had to wait a bit too much to be served. I would totally recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a typical Swedish dinner.

So great lunch place! They have a quite limited menu, but oh so good. One daily dish, one weekly, plus some other dishes. The place feels very welcoming and friendly. Every chair is different, and the tables look like they are 100 years old and made from driftwood. They have an outdoor section, and the personnel is very friendly. The food seemed to be cooked with love and care, and the ingredients were of high quality. There was nothing I didn't like, and I can definitely recommend this place for lunch!

I really like Knut! You don't go wrong with their daily special or any of their dishes featuring traditional Swedish meats! The food is delicious and seasonal. The interior is cosy, yet cool. With mismatched chairs, antlers on the wall, a nice bar and handwritten signs. The service is fine, but not amazing. All in all a place that is worth a visit.

This authentic Scandinavian restaurant tucked away from the center of Stockholm was an amazing find! We started off with the Platter of the North, an assortment of meats and cheese, and tasted reindeer in three different delicious ways: sausage, jerky, and sliced heart (before you say that sounds disgusting, keep an open mind because the taste to us was anything but). For my entree, I had the minced moose steak, which was served as a patty and brought out the meat's flavorful juices. My wife had the wild duck, and she was not disappointed at all! Overall, the food tasted a bit gamey, and just as authentic as we were looking for!

The staff was lovely, they even agreed to seat me 3 mins before the kitchen closes. I order the minced moose burger with mashed roots vegetables and veggie of the day (string beans). Service, ambience and the most satisfying meal after a full day of activities. The waitress even gave me recommendations for other spots to eat and drink. Cozy and delicious.

We had just arrived that afternoon and were walking around our hotel to look for an early dinner. The dining room is lovely but not too stuffy or formal. We ordered the brown bread for starters, along with some wine and beer. I ordered the Arctic char (parsnip, chili, hazelnuts, browned butter and a soy glaze) and Paul G. went with the meatballs (hand-rolled and with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber). We had the traditional Swedish meatball dish a few more times during the trip and they all came with the same components, but Bistro Bestick's was my fave. The sauce was heavier, velvety and creamy, and the potatoes were oh so fluffy. The berries were tart and fresh. I loved my fish, too... the hazelnuts, brown butter and soy were such a bright, unexpected combination. I enjoyed every bite. Don't sleep on dessert here! I couldn't even finish my dinner but still wanted to try the chocolate rum cake (salty caramel sauce, roasted peanuts, vanilla ice cream and crispy sesame) and what a delightful flavor explosion! It was beautifully presented and the sesame "cracker" on top was the perfect contrast to all the sweetness. I'd highly recommend BB!

I planned my whole Stockholm trip around coming here, and was lucky enough to snag a solo reservation for dinner the last night of my trip in May 2025. Truly nothing comes close to the overall service & hospitality experience and quality of the food and drinks. I have dietary restrictions (no red meat), that they could accommodate with no problem and even provide a printed menu that represented my exact substitutions, which rarely happens for me. The night I came, Björn Frabtzén received a third Michelin star at Frantzén's sister restaurant in Dubai, becoming the only chef in the world to helm three 3-Michelin star restaurants simultaneously, and my experience here really shows why they are the best of the best. You enter from a lobby and are greeted by a host who will guide you through the experience. I had the opportunity to use the restroom and then got a peak into some of the meats I'd be enjoying for my meal in the entryway itself. You then go up an elevator to the Lounge, where you get your first look at the drink menu and your first bites. Frantzén was one of the first restaurants to really champion this experience of moving from room to room for different courses and it sets an ambiance almost of eating at someone's home. It's casual but decadent and the chefs walk you through all of the ingredients you're about to enjoy while casually chit chatting and enjoying the best canapés of your life. After the starters, you're taken through the prep kitchen and the wine cellar to the actual restaurant, which is a large open kitchen where you get to watch the chefs work while enjoying your meal. I was celebrating my birthday, and despite getting the NA pairing (which was excellent minus one drink towards the end) had so many additional generous free pours of incredible wines and champagne throughout the night. Well worth it, as their sommelier won best sommelier at the Scandinavia Michelin ceremony one month later in June 2025, and some of the glasses they gave me for free were easily $100 a piece. Come hungry, because you'll leave stuffed beyond belief for a 5-6 hour meal (and can always hang out longer if the restaurant hasn't closed up for the night.) This menu is legendary and best to go in without too many spoilers, but I had the best dish of my life - the tear drop peas chanwamushi - sweet, so tender, unreal. Another guest told me they wait all year for pea season to get this version of the dish. After dinner, you move back into the lounge where you're treated to after dinner drinks, teas, light sweets (that they will box up for you if you're too full) and the famous cardamom, brown butter, and Madeira madeleines. These mini-versions of madeleines come in a set of 9, are made fresh to order, and are refilled for however long you want to sit and enjoy the ambiance and chat at the end of the night. I felt like over the course of this part in particular, I made friends with other diners and the staff and had one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of my life. Frantzén is one of the best in the world (and if Reddit is to be believed, the very best) for a reason.

Apparently I'm not the only one - since last I visited it is now placed on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list for Stockhom, and rightfully so. Upon entry you'll already feel a lovely blend of Swedish design and quirky aesthetic choices that signal you're in for a good experience. While the interior is tasteful, there are elements like chairs being mounted on the walls and a couple of the seatings being perched up on mounts near the front windows. Everyone who greets you and serves are very delightful, charming, and often funny, which really sets the tone wonderfully. The food itself is on the heartier side but all really well considered and delicious. We had the see bass ceviche with tomatoes (fresh, tangy, and complex) and iberico ham with parmesan (basic but very high quality ingredients), both of which were really delicious. The complimentary bread rolls and butter were really delightful, cooked with a bubbly crunchy texture that was delightful to chew. The main courses included their classic pork confit dish as well as another ibercio pork entree with white beans, cilantro, and chorizo - both were savory and very meat-forward but the star of the show was absolutely those white beans which were prepared in a very savoury sauce. Our total bill including a very good bottle of pinot noir from Napa Valley the bill came to around $240 USD. For the quality of the food, service, and attention to style, as well as the distinction of being a recognized place to eat in Stockholm, I would definitely recommend this place to any traveler who wants to experience local cusine in Stockholm.

Our waitress was peppy despite having to deal with a long line and probably a long day. She was friendly, attentive, and so cheerful! 100/10. We started with the reindeer salad since my bf had never had reindeer before. While the reindeer seemed less cooked than expected, by the end he really liked the mix of flavors and thought it paired well with the salad. We both got the Swedish meatballs for our entrees and loved them! We both loved the pickled cucumbers and lingonberries. The lingonberries pair so well with the meat! While there are only 3 meatballs, they were so huge neither of us could finish all of them. Especially because I wanted to save room for dessert: the sponge cake! While it didn't look like much on presentation, it was surprisingly moist and the cream and berries were absolutely delicious. My bf said he was only going to have one bite (he's not a big dessert guy) but instead ended up eating half! Highly recommend!
