Donuts, 5 stars Kolaches, 5 stars Service, 5 stars Coffee, meh, but certainly drinkable These really are the best donuts. We had glazed, glazed with sprinkles, cinnamon sugar, and donut holes. All are amazing. Kolaches are delicious. We tried a croissant, egg and cheese, but honestly the kolaches are so good I wouldn't waste time there. Stayed for two nights in Kingsland on a little weekend escape from Houston. We ate at M&M the first morning and the was no talk of going anywhere else the second morning. Better than any donuts we've had in Houston, in my opinion. They also gave each of our two kids a little bag of donut holes each morning. Super nice touch :) read more

After a long night at the lake and some short sleep, I knew I had to grab some breakfast before another day on the lake started. Most of my friends went to Sonic, but I wanted to try something different and unique to Kingsland, and thus I stumbled on M&M Donuts. All I had was a kolache and a cinnamon roll, but it was enough to convince me their sign was of best donuts in Kingland (I'm sure they are also the only) that these were top notch. Kolachie had a very nice soft bread with slight sweetness that went well with the spicy jalapeño cheese sausage inside. Cinnamon roll could has had a bit more sweetness and spices on the outside, but the roll itself was airy and light. Great place and I will remember it. read more

Good local shop with a friendly staff. Their kolaches are fantastic and their apple fritters are some of the best in the area. The only issue I have is with their chocolate donuts and their cream. The chocolate has a tendency to taste like acetone or shall I say nail polish remover and the cream has a very plastic like taste. I thought it was me at first but then my husband tried the same donut and said the same thing. I have tried a variety of their chocolate donuts and the all taste the same, like nail polish remover. read more

When in Rome...you know the rest. It pretty much sums it up for those used to Shipley's. I stayed in a vacation rental for the weekend w/ the entire family. The staff was very friendly and patience. I stopped by and order 2-dozens of assorted iced donuts and 1/2 dozen sausage kolaches. My 15-yr old nephew and I ate a couple so fast because we were starving. The adults family members did not the donuts because they felt the donuts had a strange oil favor. Once I tried another one, I could totally taste something different. I stumbled upon this little gem upon recommendation from a friend of mine as i was headed out to the lake. no, it wasn't the lady with the cloud eating child but certainly if it was, i'd pin a "most accurate metaphor" ribbon to her. The donuts were delicious ... strike that ... outstanding. i'll tell ya, freshly made donuts, still sticky with molten sugar and crisp from a fresh dip in oil ... i challenge anyone to say there is anything better. oooh, cept maybe freshly made kolaches. hot damn ... slightly sweet freshly baked bread wrapped around a mildly peppery sausage and molten cheese. i wish they delivered to austin. oh, and don't worry if you buy too many (which i almost always do) they reheat in the microwave in ... oh about 7 seconds. UH-MAY-ZING. and i'm not even talking about the donuts. having tried kolaches from La Grange to LA, i can confidently say that these are hands down the best little piggies-in-blankets this side of the continental divide. yeah, they're that good. for far too long, kolaches have been held hostage to places that over yeast the dough resulting in nothing more than a puffed up pastry with nothing but hot-air on the inside. M&M donuts does it right. the outside dough has some oomph you can sink your teeth into and tightly wraps the precious contents of sausage and jalapeno. its slightly sweet with a hint of spice and a whole lot of delicious in the palm of your hand. read more
