What a cute little find! We just happened to be looking for a place to stop and stretch our legs (&…read morealways up for a baked goodie) on our drive. Looked newly opened, but they moved the business to there from another location nearby. Employees took over the business after the original owner/ baker retired. Really interesting fun fact! Love the little article posted about their business in the Texas Highways travel mag. The Best Smelling Place in Marble Falls. lol The apple turnover, gooey butter bar, and chocolate cupcake were all SO delicious and worth the stop. Prices are great, too! Service was friendly and welcoming. Chatting with the employee, I quickly learned that they have been around for over 25 years ... maybe he said 26 years. I'm writing this with jet lag. We stopped at this bakery a couple days ago driving through Marble Falls to the Austin airport from Fredericksburg. It's a scenic area ... and, I love the Texas Hill Country! Stop in. Try a baked good. I think you won't be disappointed. Took a star off because it's so small inside and no bathroom for customers. We needed a full pit stop, but ended up going to a nearby gas station anyway to fuel up the car tank and empty out our bladders! Haha.

I just had the muffuletta and it was great. Lots of meat and cheese and a good olive salad. I also got some good looking focaccia but I'm saving it for supper. I'm definitely going back to try the pastries.

I came here specifically for the sourdough bread. They had a full rack on display and fortunately,…read moreI have come late enough that it was okay to have sliced. The short is the sourdough bread was just okay. I find almost all sourdough bread in TX seems to be undercooked and I'm not sure why. And all the sourdough I have experienced in TX has a different flavor than traditional sourdough bread. It also seems quite heavier than a traditional sourdough. I did ask for it be sliced but the slices were incredibly thick. Easily twice the width of a normal slice of bread. Given the heaviness of this bread and seemingly undercooked that thickness is not ideal. I have certainly had thick sourdough slices before, but those were traditional, cooked and lighter. Maybe the person could have changed the thickness but it wasn't offered. Lastly, when checking out... I was charged 3% for using a credit card. I was informed beforehand and it is displayed... but this doesn't make it okay. As a business owner myself, I know I can deduct bank charges for using a credit card. So, you are charging me 3% and you are taking a deduction from taxes. But to top it off... after charging me 3% more... the server wanted me to provide a tip! Oh, sorry... she just said "the screen is going to ask you a question". What question? Why don't you just come right out and say "I want a tip"? But tip for what? And it's $11 for a loaf of bread.

I have given this bakery 3 different chances. I have purchased eclairs, cream horns, and a…read morechocolate pie. All items weren't fresh and not good. If items are old they shouldn't be sold as fresh and should be discounted. See pic of chocolate pie I bought for Father's Day. Pie had separated and was runny. The crust was tuff, soggy, and undercooked.
