People were squatting in these dilapidated structures, tearing them apart, and lighting them on fire. We'd tried applying for demolition permits ourselves, but our City made that complex and difficult to do. The task required technical expertise and savvy that we just didn't have, no matter how hard we worked or how well we did. We found Demo Leaders on Yelp, and negotiated a very fair price. They even helped us by recruiting a permit expeditor, which cut through all of the red tape. When the City finally issued the demo permits, Demo Leaders jumped in immediately and all of the distressed properties was scraped clean, down to the dirt. The City inspector was impressed with Demo Leaders' job, too. I DEFINITELY recommend Yanir and the team at Demo Leaders. They were patient, understanding, professional, and efficient. They'll also went out of their way to help us through the bureaucratic morass that stood between us and our demolition permit. Demo Leaders is terrific! I look forward to working with them again!

Both had masks on!) He promptly furnished a quote (he was the second to bid, and was the middle of the three bids). What convinced me to go with them was this: When they came to review the job, I had a reference sheet from City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety...and Mark said that they build to a much higher standard, and described including more rebar than the city requires, etc. He also talked about specifically matching the existing wall. His priorities seemed to match ours. Mark had said that they would be showing up at 7AM on the appointed day, and texted me at 7 to tell me that they would be 10 minutes late. I really appreciated that, as I had recently used a contractor who showed up when they chose to show up. Wall Brothers is clearly client-focused. Mark said that the job would be 3-4 days, and it was done in under 3. New wall matches the existing wall (and it's not a standard concrete block size) well. Crew was friendly and accessible throughout the job. There was a small miscommunication that was quickly corrected without incident, another measure of a good firm. Finally, each day, the crew left the site cleaned up. When the job was completed, one of the crew remained to clean up the site, and other than the new wall, you would not know a construction crew had been here this week! I'm entirely comfortable referring Wall Brothers Construction for their concrete/masonry work, and will certainly be calling them again as needed. I hired him back in August for various house work. He seemed okay at first, saying it was a 1-2 week job. He was taking longer than expected, but I was patient because he seemed like a nice guy. He agreed to finish everything while I went on vacation and I paid him ahead of time to finish. 2 weeks later I return to find out that he never did any work in that time. It is almost December, nearly 4 months later, and the job is STILL not complete. A few of the MANY issues: - Did poor stucco work. Permanent white marks everywhere. Looks awful and refuses to do anything about it - Set up a shade sail that broke TWICE. First time he fixed it. Second time it broke, then he stopped returning my calls. - Left a hole in my bedroom that took weeks to fix - Left trash and tools all over my backyard. Took him over a month to clear it out - Says he will show up, then doesn't. This happened dozens of times. I am not exaggerating - Takes MONTHS working on a job that should take a few days/weeks. Kept making excuses along the way - Stops returning text/calls - Asks for sketchy payment ahead of time to random Zelle numbers. - Has terrible communication (and that has nothing to do with language barriers) I now have to spend thousands of dollars just to fix his work and finish the job.
