He was honest, straightforward and knowledgeable in his discussion with me of the situation. Within a day he had stopped by the home, assessed the issues and called me back to give me a price for removal of the branch. He was back out there later the same day to do the work. I'm not a fan of cutting down trees; I believe in preserving them and it was disappointing to learn that the 140 year old Oak was 75% dead and needs to be removed. My father-in-law nearly rolled his ankle walking around our garage, so we decided that fixing the garage floor was a priority for safety reasons. Enter Creative Concrete Raising. My husband found this company through Yelp and inquired about their services, but since it was early winter and the ground was freezing, the company still came out to inspect the floor and give us a quote, and they put us on their queue for spring because their equipment had already been weatherized and put away. As soon as the weather warmed up, they called and came out to fix our garage promptly. I wish I had a before picture of the lip between the hemispheres of our garage floor because it must have been offset by an inch, and they were able to raise it up! They drilled holes and pumped limestone underneath the concrete to bring it up to an even surface. The manager Ken even mentioned that they could tell that underneath the concrete there were some hollow areas! Yikes! Thankful for their services and we will definitely be considering them again because we have more areas that need to be fixed! Surprisingly, they didn't try to upsell my husband on services, they quoted him and did exactly what he asked for. Great communication, timely service, and an overall easy transaction.

He clearly demonstrates strong creative vision, solid knowledge, experience, work and business ethic. His crew works hard, productively and efficiently. Ed heard me very well on our needs and interests, cleared out the old, transplanting some of it in with the new -- he met us right where we are/worked closely with us. He and his crew installed beautiful and maintainable flowers and plants, a good balance of native and hybrid/non-native -- that have definitely enhanced our environment and raised the quality of our outdoor (and indoor) home life. We were very disappointed with his work and cannot recommend. The estimate was provided after…read moreStuart came to our home to view the layout, etc. He was one of the lowest estimates we received; by around $100, and went with him because of the cost and we also knew someone who had hired him several years prior and complimented his woodworking. He cut several baseboards too long, and kicked them forcefully into place, causing corners to split. He said during the estimate he would angle edges, he didn't do this and in the middle of the job, when reminded, he angled some edges, and not others. He seemed frustrated for at least 1/2 of the job, complaining about our layout, known at time of estimate. There were sharp nails left sticking out of the baseboard, and multiple nail holes that were not caulked, so are very visible. Prominent corners were left with gaps. He chipped the door casing in several areas and did not rectify it. Several corners were not matched up/aligned. He smeared paint from the baseboard painting on the floor, quite a few areas were left dirty. He scratched some of our walls putting the longer baseboard pieces in, leaving white marks on our darker paint (very noticeable,) white paint drops were left on our flooring and wall from baseboard painting. He locked himself out the 2nd day, causing interruption of an important work meeting, which he was informed about ahead of time. The top baseboard caulking was inconsistent, and nails, dust and other debris were left at the end of the job, easily scratching our new hardwood floors and left out for our pet to walk through and us to clean up. He did not initiate a final walkthrough and rushed us when we initiated one. We paid him the agreed amount and a tip due to our layout. After reviewing the work again when he left, we saw many areas of subpar work. He came out later that week to correct what we pointed out, it was better, but nowhere near quality work. We were considering staining toe board and he brought over some stains he had for us to try, that was nice of him. We had beautiful new hardwood floors and instead of the baseboards finishing and upgrading the look it did the opposite. Overall, we were very upset with his lack of quality work and had to hire another contractor to redo unacceptable work. Absolutely cannot recommend.

He said he was a skilled finish carpenter with over 40 yrs experience & is capable of completing the job as discussed. The completed work did not match the original design or the agreement, including a frame and sill cut to the wrong size, a center support piece that was not replaced as promised, and composite sills installed without approval. The 2 windows are noticeably different, they stick out further than the other 7 windows. sent messages & emails to Stuart offering an opportunity to correct the work, but received no response. I had to hire another contractor to remove and redo the entire job. I would not recommend him for any carpentry or detailed home repairs based on my experience.
