The crew is absolutely incredible! I cannot express this enough. They weren't only respectful to us, but more importantly, they were respectful to each other. As any homeowner knows, it can be difficult having people working in your house. Not with this crew though! They showed up every day with a warm greeting, a friendly smile and a positive attitude. Their work was impeccable! Each one of them was knowledgeable and had their own specific talents. Glenn, the owner of the company was good-natured and easy to talk to. He oversaw the project but was easygoing and respectful to the men on the crew. Steve and John were extremely talented; building the walls, floors and ceilings. They have a talent for hanging sheetrock, mudding and sanding. Everything was flawless. They made sure everything was waterproofed to prevent any future problems. Among the crew is Bill. He used to work as a state inspector. He is knowledgeable in making sure every part of the project was safe and up to code. Brad and John are the painters, they are magicians when it comes to their painting skills. This entire crew showed great attention to detail. They cleaned daily as they went along and left the bathroom spotless at the end of each day during the project. They even swept the kitchen floor after bringing materials through the kitchen. The stairs were tricky due to existing structures (old house) but they figured out the best approach and executed it beautifully. PBS handled the permit, the check for gas/water lines, and multiple inspections. All I had to do was make a couple decisions when presented with options, and then sit back and relax. Work proceeded on time, in pretty much all weather--in fact they started the day after a February blizzard, which didn't seem to bother them at all! The team was courteous, helpful, and answered all my questions. When the project finished, clean-up was fast and thorough. One thing we did not want was to have the typical vinyl sided house with white trip. EVERY vinyl sided house has white trim. BORING!! We wanted to keep the same basic color scheme so I began the chore of finding the proper contractor to do the job. I called several companies. Often you can tell by the presentation of the first meeting if they are going to do good work. This was the case with Quinn's Construction. The first contractor was like a used car salesman and was clearly over its head. While being the lowest quote, it was clear the work would be subpar. The second contractor was much better but lost out since they could not find the proper materials to do the job to my satisfaction. Quinn's Construction took ample time to listen to my wants and provided several options to accomplish the goal. They were the highest price but it was clear that you get what you pay for. The crew was professional and prompt. The work was done over the end of winter. We provided our garage to the work force to make life best for all. Some minor issues had to be dealt with but we came to a fair agreement and the work was done as desired. The attention to detail was great. From the trim around the roof line to the address number box and the doorbells, this was done properly. The bay window required some additional work but it was done well. Douglas showed up immediately, provided a very timely estimate, and was able to get started on the work very soon thereafter. From initial consultation to start of the work, everything was smooth and very simple - he explained very clearly what was needed and kept making sure I had no questions. During the same visit, as he was assessing the roof on my garage, he inquired if I ever considered a skylight for the bonus room. In like manner, he had an assessment and estimate in my hands and, after I agreed, likewise made a point to begin the work as soon as he could. I've attached pictures to show progress. I am beyond pleased with the final product. Not only did they install a beautiful skylight, they repainted the rest of the wall to match and the finished work looks as if it were installed as part of the original bonus room. Douglas and his team clearly know roofing, windows, and framing. And their skills back up their work. To make things even better, when a subsequent wind & rain storm resulted in a few drips on the sides of the skylight, Douglas and team were back within days to reassess their work - they removed the skylight, re-checked and shored up the lining, and reinstalled the window in less than a day at no additional cost. Douglas and his company stand by their word and their work. It is a lost attribute in this world of service-providers, and thus working with them was refreshing. Looking forward to the next project where I can bring them in.
