I really want to give Fernando a good review but unfortunately that was not the experience for us. We called Fernando because we had 2 bathroom counter tops to fabricate since they sold out at ikea and we had difficult time finding them at HomeDepot and Lowes. We wanted to check out what slabs he had or order from a slab yard where we found a slab on sale. We were in a hurry to find a fabricator. When I first called Fernando around 6pm and surprised he picked up, he was very personable and very kind. He sent me a estimate for fabricating 2 counter tops and picking up the slab from slab yard. My bf is a contractor on the east coast and suggested we see if he had left over slabs as well since it means he can use left over pieces and wont have to pick up from slab yard. My boyfriend spoke to him about the slabs. He sent us pictures from his workshop and gave us a quote and everything seem to be going swimmingly. He said it would be completed in a week and to pick up from his workshop in Garden Grove. I checked in with him a couple times. He picked up the phone 95% of the time but didn't respond text messages. 5 days pass, I call to check and he says everything is fine and we could pick up on Wednesday. We call Tuesday night to confirm pick up time. On Wednesday we drove to the address provided for the warehouse which took us 45 minutes and we even got there earlier and in the area. Fernando called us about 30 before meet time and said he wouldnt be at his workshop. His reasoning was someone got hurt and had to go to ER. My bf says its a classic story he hears often from subcontractors. Who knows if its true. Either way he said he would deliver to us the next morning, which he never did. We never called back cause it seems clear that we were just being dragged along. We know our job is really small considering its not a kitchen and just 2 tiny pieces. It would have been fine if he just told us the job is too small or if its not possbile for XYZ. We would have understood, but dragging us along and wasting our time was a huge disappointment. I ordered the installation of a countertop and a sink. The cost of installation was $850, due to the lack of a normal tool, Fernando made holes in the new wall to rest a crowbar and press on the countertop. The alignment of two countertops is also not the best, in addition, during the work he dropped the tool and broke the tile on the floor and at first denied his involvement, but after I sent before and after photos, he agreed to cover the cracks in the tile with resin. He installed the countertop not with glue as required by building codes, but with cheap $3 cocking. He never provided a receipt or warranty, wrote to him twice and did not receive an answer, so I do not recommend working with him to avoid problems later. read more

I was referred to Martin Munoz (the owner; not Fernando) by my next-door neighbor and friend who is a general contractor and who left a review on here, Robert Crawford (Robert C) Bob told me that Martin is professional and knowledgeable and responsive and shouldn't have any problem helping me with a stone lined sink basin repair for a rental property. After speaking with Martin he told me to get photos of the sink and that he would take a look at it and we would discuss. After getting the photos for him and calling him he then said he would get the waterproofing resin from his friend over the weekend and would circle back to me at the beginning of the week. That never happened I called him again and left him a few voicemail messages and then was able to reach him after he picked up when I called from a different number. Again he said he would call me right back after he finished up his job for the day... that never happened. This guy must have more work than he knows what to deal with but certainly he doesn't know how to deal with clients or potential clients. He is your typical nonresponsive catch me if you can subcontractor that we've all had the unfortunate experience of dealing with. I had a install done a few months ago and initially I thought they did a good job. Upon living with the product for a bit I noticed that there was streaking in it that seems to have been done from the polishing. I contacted Fernando and it took him forever to get back to me. I have a smaller kitchen but wanted a lot of luxury details with full backsplash, a large overhang, waterfall sides, and windowsill wrap. It took two slabs. Other fabricators told me they would need three. Fernando met me at his shop to get the exact layout I wanted and did his best to use every inch of the stone while keeping the veins running together. It looks exactly how I wanted it. And he even was able to give me an additional backsplash next to my peninsula which at first he said he wasn't sure he could pull off and I was fine with that. But it looks even better than I thought it would and I'm grateful he kept that detail in mind bc it really looks great. The layout makes my kitchen pop! And makes a small space look a lot bigger. There was a few small details that needed attention after install. I had already paid Fernando in full but he was still responsive and addressed them. A lot of other contractors I've worked with, once you pay them they kind of blow you off. So I was very pleased with that. Ok so this is one of those times where you are looking to have work done, but you don't realize (while reaching out) that the company and owner are so far away that it makes it hard to book them. I had a last minute urgency to finish a kitchen upgrade that got held up because the opening in the kitchen counter for a new sink was to small, and we had the plumbers stop in the middle of the work. I reached out to M & M Marble and Granite as one of the better reviewed companies not realizing they were way outside of my area (searching faster than realizing), and even so Fernando was so informative, personable and even incredibly flexible. Fernando was willing to come out on the weekend, hours away from their location to help me at a really competitive rate. Even though I didn't hire him, Fernando spent time with me on the phone to help me understand what would happen during the process, how they would carefully tent the space to prevent dust (even with the vacuum) and other details I had no idea about with regards to working with stone like quartz, marble, and granite. Initially, we had a great experience with Fernando and his team. He communicated well, showed up on time and did a great job. When the job was finished, he had asked that I write a review for him-I am glad I never did that. We had our countertops installed in July 2022. Six months later, we noticed there was a slight crack in one of the countertops (it is an L shape and the crack was directly in the corner of the L). We reached out to Fernando and initially he said he would come by and take a look ("as he is in our area all the time") at it and see what he could do to fix it. He never came by to look at the issue. After texting and calling with no response, we called from another phone and he did answer. This was now going into February/March. He stated he would come by that week to take a look at it, however we were expecting some storms in our area so that might change (ok, understandable). The storm closed roads in our area, so understandable that he couldn't make it, however I didn't hear from him again. My husband reached out to him later (this is now July) and again, it was I will come Saturday at 11:00am to look at it and see how we can fix it. Saturday at 9:00am my husband texts Fernando to confirm he is still coming, no reply. I call Fernando at 10:00am to confirm he is still coming. As I am talking to Fernando, he states that he would like a trip fee of $150 since we are in the Mountains and he is in Orange County. We went back and forth over the phone becuase he had been saying he was going to look at it for 6 months and never mentioned a trip fee until an hour before he was suppose to show up. I wondered if he had any intention of coming to the scheduled appointment becuase it was apparent he hadn't even left yet, and we are over an hour away from him. (If the distance was an issue, he should've never taken the job in the first place). He then blamed us for the crack in the countertop and stated it couldn't have happened when it was installed (which I find odd becuase he hadn't even been back to look at it) I repeatedly asked Fernando if he guarantees his work to which he wouldn't answer, just kept saying it couldn't have been him. It is apparent he doesn't guarantee his own work. At the end of our conversation I told him I would not pay for a trip fee for something that wasn't my error. I cancelled the appointment with him for that Saturday and let him know I would be contacting the BBB. I would think twice before you hire him for a job.
