First, let me tell you my Dad has been in the granite and marble industry for almost 30 years, so he knows his stuff. Him & I previously started at a different place and had really unwelcoming experience; so walking into The Yard we were apprehensive. But from the start walking in we were so happy to be greeted by Wayne. He was welcoming from the start. He walked us through the different slabs, explained the pieces and we never felt any pressure. I ended up falling in love with a granite slab that I wasn't even the color I was looking for- LOL. It was a great deal, I couldn't pass up. Lastly, two days after purchase, I called to inform Wayne that our contractor was going to pick it up the slab. Well our contractor forgot the A-frame and it was caught by the employee and I was immediately given a follow up text. Needless to say my contractor returned the following day with the A-frame and I was given a follow up text when it left. WOW! Talk about great service!! 5 Stars!! Wife and I went to several stone yards, and we were frankly exhausted. The salespeople, the stone that wasn't accessible, the crazy pricing, had us at our wits end. We visited the yard and they had all the stone displayed. There were three pieces cut side by side from the same stone. I didn't have to look at a computer, try to move the stone myself, or make an appointment to see another piece. The salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly (a concept others should copy). We found Wayne by accident when the original slab we purchased from another slab yard ended up cracked. When we drove up to his place, we were amazed at the beautiful inventory he has. He had the cleanest and largest Taj Mahal quartzite slabs we've ever seen, as well as some of the most beautiful dolomite and other quartzites. Our fabricator friend sent us to The Yard to find the slabs we need for our kitchen renovation. When we got there, Wayne came out to greet us and asking what we are looking for. They have beautiful slabs of dolomite, quartzite, marble, etc. on display in the yard. Wayne is very knowledgeable and passionate about natural stones. He took the time to explain to us different types of materials and stones that'd be suitable for kitchen. What's awesome is he has his own processing factory in Italy so he is able to control the quality of stones he is selling here in the US. Another great feature they have here is you are able to buy in half slab! Although we didn't find exactly what we are looking for at The Yard, Wayne was gracious enough to recommend a sealer for the quartzite we will be using in the kitchen. We drove out to look for slabs to use for our kitchen remodel. I wanted something natural and with some character. Wayne helped us out! Talking to him about the different types of stones, you could tell he loves what he does and knows his stuff. We picked out some beautiful soapstone slabs with a greenish undergone. We had delays in our remodel and they held our slabs until our fabricator was ready and even kept us updated if he got in new shipments of slabs that we may like better! Review WOW!!!Talk about customer service! The BEST!!! I was so blown away by The Yard! We've shopped at so many stone places around Anaheim over the years, for multiple remodels. I've never experienced the level of customer service I experienced with The Yard! Not only that, they sell smaller slabs and remnants, whereas literally no other place does. We were looking for a small quartzite or marble slab 30x36 for an outdoor pizza oven stand we are building. We called over 10 places in Anaheim asking if they had smaller pieces or remnants or a bone pile and every place said "no" or told us to call a fabricator). I was about to give up until I called The Yard! Yes! They sell smaller pieces of stone (fractional) slabs - (in addition to selling the larger full size slabs)!!! We headed there immediately and were greeted immediately by April who was super friendly and had a big smile on her face. She took us back to an area where they had tons of smaller fractional slabs available in marble, quartzite, and other stones. Beautiful selection and many colors!! Within 5 minutes another girl came out and offered us an ice cold bottle of water. What a nice surprise! We spent about 15 minutes, going through a different colors and they were so helpful and taking them out of the allowing us to compare them side-by-side. We were so excited to have found this hidden gem!!! They have a wonderful wide selection of full-sized stone slabs, as well as fractional / partial / remanant stone slabs....we were in and out in 30 mins and knew we had to rave about this place to share our awesome experience!!!! Wayne is just the best - I gave him a budget and a photo of what I wanted (after missing out on another piece elsewhere I had my eyes on) and he ended up finding something I loved at first try. On budget! There's tons of showrooms in Anaheim and many were good but in the end, I never felt that the people who helped me were interested in anything other than helping me choose something to make a sale. While I'm sure making a sale is important to Wayne, he doesn't approach it like that at all, you can tell he has an eye for finding pieces and really loves showing people the true beauty of each stone. And the service! Wow! At a slab yard! Bottled water, umbrellas for shade, and just all around made the experience top notch. Remodeling a master bathroom and we wanted Quartz on the vanity top. I only needed a third of a slab and thank goodness I ran into The Yard. I had a good feeling about them from the beginning and the first set of quartz April showed me was the one. I quickly texted a picture to my wife and she agreed. Was happy with the price and the fact they could hang on to it until the following week when we would be ready for it. Now to find a fabricator/installer. Finding just the right granite remnant is a tideous job. It takes time & patience, especially if you are looking for specific hard to find colors. My brother & I were out picking up our floor tile for my 2nd bathroom & we stopped at this place to take a look & see if they had anything I could use for my vanity. We were greeted by a very polite man named Ruben who gave us each a nice cold water bottle & went in & got April, the very sweet & extremely helpful salesgirl. I explained that I was looking for a granite, mostly green with a little pink if possible. I told her the size I needed. Ruben showed us every single piece of granite remnant in the size we needed & was very patient with me. The VERY LAST PIECE was it!!! Most well earned 5 star I've ever given. If you want to buy stone in OC this is the place to go. I am a DIY'r because I'm particular and impatient and also a little frugal. When I first read reviews about the yard I thought it was going to be overpriced and a "wine and dine" kind of experience because of the way people talked up the customer service. I couldn't have been more mistaken in thinking that this would result in a markup. We had the best experience working with the yard. Night and day difference to almost every customer service experience I've had in recent times. We couldn't be happier with our countertops. From the start Wayne (owner) was extremely patient and helpful; all around awesome guy. I called around about ten places and all of them felt like there was 5 middle men and I was going to get overcharged for something that would end up being late and different than what I wanted. Lots of weird salesman who clearly new little about the industry. The yard is literally a parking lot with slabs of stone, there for you to look at. Wayne will spend as much time as you want showing you around and telling you about the geology of every one of them. Keep in mind our project was small (only one slab). I felt guilty that he spent as much time as he did showing us around but he was more than happy to do so. We really enjoyed looking at all of the stones and learning from him. Reasons why the Yard is different from every other stone place I could find: -Stone importer. You are buying slabs direct from the source, not picking out a style from a salesman who will then stack commissions and overhead and lead time on before you go to find that the slabs you ended up with are different than what you picked. -Competitive prices. We paid less for a large slab of real quartzite than most places charge for a smaller slab of man made quartz. Our stone is a piece of art formed by the earth over millennia. We went in planning to buy quartz but seeing the stones in person and looking at prices made it a no brainer. Pictures don't do these stone justice, there are all kinds of subtle coloring, undertones and details that pop out as you look closer - you do not get that with man made quartz (which they do sell as well). The yard clearly keeps overhead costs down but at no detriment to the customer experience. -Supplies partial slabs. They will buy back excess stone and then sell it to different customers saving you money both if you have excess and if you need a partial slab. They also will hold on to a slab that your purchase indefinitely and will buy it back at no coat if something changes. -Direct source to recommended installers. Wayne connected us to an installer he recommended. We paid and worked with the installer directly. He did an awesome job, was quick, good communication and fair pricing. Most showrooms act as a middleman to the installers or have their own installers (which means they can get overwhelmed with work easily and stack overhead costs on the pricing for install). He even let us pick out where we wanted each piece cut from the slab. -Quick and transparent communication. After looking at the slabs, we went home to sleep on it. After we made our decision I literally just texted Wayne what we wanted. He responded immediately and concisely with what he needed to process the order. He emailed me an invoice which was paid online and that was it. No waiting on hold etc. They called one time after handing us of to an installer just to check in and make sure we were happy with everything. Communication was perfect. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I would never consider going elsewhere after our experience here. You'd be crazy to go to a box store or fancy show room to pick out counters, based on samples, when there is an option to go to a place like this. read more

I have purchased material for my countertops here twice for a reason. The customer service is amazing, they are friendly, knowledgeable and carry a wide variety of materials. Wayne was very helpful and had a good eye for helping me pick the right colors to go with my bathroom and then on another occasion for my kitchen island countertop. The element that puts this stone yard above the others is that you can purchase partial slabs. I only needed a 1/4 slab for a small bathroom vanity, and I could get a slab in the size I needed without having to purchase an entire slab, which most stone yards require. He was easy to deal with and happy to show me many different slabs. He is also very knowledgeable about the characteristics of each material.
