I'm Back! M&M's Hot's is Elmira! There are tastes from your youth you never forget. I've been coming since the early 1970s and I live in New Mexico now. And when I come home to the Southern Tier and I'm craving a touch of home M&M's never fails. From the steamed buns, the hot dogs, the meat sauce with the mix of onions and mustard this masterpiece of flavor is one of a kind. For weeks before my trip I imagined biting into an M&M's hot. My order, 3 cheese dogs loaded, they did not disappoint! Just as I remembered. My friend a local, decided to have a bacon cheeseburger and he said he would have loved another. The fries are crispy and on point and perfect with ketchup as fries can be. Three of us sat down, ordered 5 cheese dogs loaded, bacon cheeseburger, fries and sodas. Within 5 minutes we were served. The Dead and psychedelic old school rock feeding your head while getting full on old school comfort food. I'm going back again before I leave town. A must when I visit! read more

Ive always loved m&m's meatsauce, I stopped yesterday and got a small container for $10, it was the absolute worst! Greasy, watery, it tasted burnt & old. I was extremely disappointed! I gave one star in my opinion dont waste your time & money read more

I was visiting Elmira for the first time in decades, and wanted to try a local hot dog joint. M & M kept coming up, so we gave it a try. (I'm dating the gal I went to Elmira College with in the mid 70s, and hadn't been back since!). Dirty water dogs, and the way to get them is with mustard, onion, and their meat sauce. Quite good. Mild flavor (they should serve them hotter, and the g/f's sauerkraut also wasn't hot enough) but above average. Decent fries, cooked to order. Friendly service. GREAT music, some obscure Grateful Dead stuff. Clean? I mean SPOTLESS, including the restrooms. Ample on street parking. Not expensive at $3.25 for an 8/1 skinless dog with toppings. Personable staff. For sure the place to visit if you want a hot dog in Elmira. read more

The best things are the historical interest and the crazy fast service. We ordered three meat sauce hots and cokes and had them in about 60 seconds. Then we mused about their history while we chowed down hots like my dad probably ate there when he lived in elmira in the 1940s. They've been open 95 years. About the hots...the style is boiled dogs on steamed buns. Toppings are meat sauce, onions and mustard. Ketchup is on the counter too. I recommend loading up. This is the style of super fast cheap food of the 1920's, 30's and 40's. I must admit I'm partial to time machine diners. read more

So hard to review M&M, this is home, it's as Elmira as Mark Twain. It's just part of who we are. Great stop for lunch. My kids love sitting at the long lunch bar. If you haven't been, it's well worth the visit. read more

I came here as a kid visiting relatives from out of state and always thought their dogs with the meat sauce were the best I've had (I've had a lot of this style of dog). I recently returned and had them again and as always they were amazing. They were not cheap, I believe about 3 dollars a dog, however, they are worth it. Last point, they make your order in about one minute which is amazing. Came again 2017, great as always. Really nice people as always and food was great. read more

By far the best Texas Red Hots I have ever had, period. My father started going here in the 30's, he would bring me here in the 60's. When dad's in town he still goes here. I have lived in Chicago for the last 15 years and Chicago knows hot dogs but if I'm on the east coast for something I make my way to Elmira for the M&M. I hate hot dogs, never liked them as a kid, or as an adult...EXCEPT M&M hots, they are to die for and still taste as good as they did when Grandpa used to get them. The french fries are the best in town and taste like fries are supposed to taste. Once you've had the best hotdog with the best meatsauce on earth you just can't eat them anywhere else. I travel a lot and as soon as I would come home I would head straight for them and so do the other members of my family. Love the family that runs this place, always a good word! Been to the others, and like them too... but THIS place has the BEST texas-style meatsauce-mustard-onions hot dogs! We usually order one fries -crispy, but not too; and one onion rings -crispy REAL and a good portion of both of them.. and two (okay, sometimes three) "with everything"s for each of us. We're stuffed and happy by the time we leave. You can get lunch here for under $10, but I'd recommend spending just a bit more to go "all in" and really enjoy what they offer... and yep, the service is SO fast, you'll get back to work with time to spare! They still have flavored sodas as well as the usual suspects, and they are all friendly to everyone (even the fussy kids we saw once; one wouldn't eat the hot dog itself, the other wouldn't eat the bun! poor dad was obviously frustrated trying to share his fave lunch with them, lol) We're always chagrined when we arrive to discover we've forgotten they take a vacation once a year! ...well, that'll happen when you have loyal staff who're more like family to both owners and customers! read more

Sure, they've gotten a little pricy. But the dollars-to-meat ratio is as good as anything you will find. Have mints on hand for your breath, and a defibrillator just to be on the safe side. So good. So very good. I always go in intending to have two. Maybe without onions. Five or six hot dogs with everything later, I'm ready for a nap. read more
