Food is really average unfortunately, taco-- price ratio isn't good, too expensive. Unimpressed, received small tacos. The salsa was very mediocre no kick no spice. Same with potato and egg, potato is extremely bland and egg is overcooked. The workers were kind but there also was a long delay for the wait. Outside ambiance waiting was alright. They should probably get their hours changed on here. Went here at 11:45 on a Saturday and they said they were closed. I can't judge the food because I never got any but I've had it many times before in the past and it's good which is why I came. Just some feedback. read more

It had been at least 10 years since the last time we visited this establishment and decided it's been a long time let's give them another chance. It was disappointing. Person taking order did not smile or give any kind of greeting when order was placed. They messed up our order, thankfully we realized it before we left the parking lot and they corrected it and gave us the $$ they charged for the extra item we did not order. Tacos were pretty skinny and kind of on the cold side (we only drove 5 minutes up the road to eat them so it's not like we waited a long time for them to get that cold so fast). Have always wanted to try this place but for whatever reason never did, probably because of what I had heard about it. The rumors about this place being an "Eh okay" place have officially been confirmed as being true. I recently moved into the "San Marcos Heights area" so my local Nikoas taco truck to is no longer a local stopping ground. Unfortunately this place seems to be the new spot for me. However, I do not think I will ever be happy going back and picking up something from here. I ordered two tacos and was extremely hopeful. Freshly made tacos what could go wrong. Is they are making their tacos in house then they HAVE TO BE GOOD right(?) wrong. Everything just seems to be missing something. Maybe. Flavor. Eggs were blah. Needed salt and pepper. The bacon was actually really good as well as the chorizo the chorizo was actually surprisingly good. I did not like the eggs. Need flavor. Tortillas really weren't that bad but I feel they could have been better. The menu is very limited. Will have to go back and Check out their lunch menu. They do daily specials for $1.50 which isn't TO bad. They are very stingy with their hot sauce which doesn't make sense seeing as how it isn't even that bad. PLUS they only have a red. I like this little place when I want tacos that have good flavor, have homemade tortillas, and carry Pepsi. They are reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly. I gave it a four because of the great variety of types of tacos, homemade tortillas, soda cans that are available for purchase, and friendly cooks. The only thing I would say is perhaps having a place where you can sit and eat , and to have bigger tacos would be what I would want. read more

I've lived in San Marcos for ten years and this has been my taco spot. I love their bean, cheese and bacon. I usually order breakfast tacos but all the different kinds of taco combinations that they can put together is awesome. It's reasonably priced and they are always so friendly. They work hard and I love the smell of yumminess that comes out their ordering window. Smells so good! I usually always order over the phone and then pick it up. Parking can sometimes be tricky but nothin a girl can't handle, especially when there are yummy tacos involved. Please be aware: this is not a restaurant. It's a taco stand. You park, you order your tacos at a window, then you get them and leave. Decent tacos. Decent salsa. Decent prices. But the parking lot sucks. It's extremely difficult to get in and out of, and considering the number of times I decide to just drive on past (instead of stopping as intended), I have a feeling the parking situation results in a lot of lost business for this place. I also don't like that they only give you one little cup of salsa for every two breakfast tacos you order. My favorite place in town gives a little cup for every single taco - and I use it all. I can make one portion of salsa work for two tacos, but they end up lacking the kick I'd like. However, they DO make their tortillas in-house. This is a plus. read more

They are good and fair priced breakfast tacos. Daily specials. Although they are a big stingy with the salsa. The only bad part about this place is the parking! If there are more than 4 cars in the "parking lot" I won't even stop. You'll get boxed in or have to do a 14 point reverse turn. I've been coming to this taco shack since I was in 1st grade, but back then it was called The Taco Lady. Even now 30 some odd years later this place is still as good as ever. I love coming during the week and enjoying their $1 weekly taco specials of the day. Mondays are the bean and egg tacos. Which is my favorite all time taco and they make it just like my grandmother use to make hers. As soon as you pull up and get out of the car you can smell the fresh homemade cooking and homemade tortillas. When you get up to the window you can see the little old Mexican ladies in the back rolling the masa for the fresh tortillas and doing the fresh homemade cooking. I think 60% of what makes a GREAT taco is a fresh homemade tortilla and theirs are as fresh as they get. Their refried beans are excellent as well. The tacos are not stuffed to the max, they aren't the biggest tacos around either but as for the taste, they are PERFECT!!! Which is what counts most in my opinion. I haven't had everything on the menu because I usually just go for breakfast before work. I've been to many other taco places in San Marcos and they cost more and do not compare in taste. If you want the BEST taco for the best price in all of San Marcos come here. How can you beat $1? It's not the price at all that keeps me coming back it's the taste. Best place in San Marcos to stop by and get some breakfast Tacos. This a trailerhouse that's been converted into a walk-up restaurant. There are usually 4 older ladies in there. 1 makes the tacos, the other tortillas, while the others are either taking your order or cooking the food. read more
